Chapter 7

“Oh my God, is she… is she alive?” exclaimed one of the wealthy wives.

“What do you think?” Evan extended a finger towards the small chestnut-haired miniature person in front of him. The person froze for a moment upon seeing Evan’s gesture, then leaned forward and hugged Evan’s finger, nuzzling against it.

“Good girl,” Evan praised her, then with a smile introduced her to everyone, “This is Mina.”

“Does she understand you?” another guest asked.

“Of course!” Evan laughed loudly and commanded, “Mina, why don’t you dance for the guests?”

Mina nodded and quickly started dancing, waving her hands and moving her feet.

Watching the scene before them, the guests covered their mouths in awe, amazed by what they were witnessing and unable to express their astonishment in words.

As she danced, Evan raised his hand and gently tapped the edge of the transparent acrylic box, urging, “What about the other children? Can’t they hear me?”

The gentle tap created an ear-splitting sound for the tiny people inside the box, causing even Mina to lose her dance rhythm.

Following that, the doors of several other villas also opened, and people of all kinds emerged, some slowly and some quickly. There were beautiful blond girls and handsome Caucasian young men… Without exception, each of them was a mini person less than ten centimeters tall.

“One, two, three, four…” Evan counted aloud, and then sternly said, “Where’s Blake?”

A total of four small people had come out from the houses, and upon hearing Evan’s question, the woman named Mina immediately stopped dancing and ran towards one of the houses, urgently knocking on the door.

Although it was a perfectly normal action, it caused the onlookers to chuckle.

The door opened, and finally, a mini young man with black hair and black eyes walked out from inside. Judging by the expression on his tiny face, he seemed a bit unwilling.

The guests laughed even more, as if enjoying an extremely amusing stage play.

The black-haired, black-eyed mini person was none other than Shen Yuzhe, who had been forced to undergo a “rebirth” of consciousness a year ago.

However, he no longer went by Shen Yuzhe; Evan had given him the name Blake. Translated into Shen Yuzhe’s native language before his “rebirth,” it meant “black.”

A year ago, after undergoing consciousness transfer, Shen Yuzhe felt like he had experienced an incredibly long dream. In that dream, he went through many things, and in the end, he cried and shouted “big brother,” telling himself “never forget.”

In the moment he opened his eyes, the memories from the dream rapidly receded like a tide.

Only the moist corners of his eyes and a heart filled with sorrow remained, reminding him of the world he had visited, the people he didn’t want to forget.

He only remembered that person was his “big brother,” but why he didn’t want to forget his brother, Shen Yuzhe had forgotten.

For a while, he was kept in a white room. Food and drink would be brought in through a small opening that would open periodically.

He slept and woke, and as time passed, even the sadness and reluctance slowly faded away, eventually turning into a chaotic state of confusion and ignorance.

After an unknown period of time, one day, he was enveloped in something soft, surrounded by darkness. There were ups and downs, bumps, and after a long time, he was released.

Upon regaining his sight, he realized he was in this place.

The first person he saw was Mina, and the second was Evan.

At that time, he was so frightened that he fell to the ground, looking up at that massive head, casting a shadow that could cover dozens of himself, trembling all over.

However, Evan laughed heartily and touched him lightly with his finger. The force was as strong as a bulldozer, flipping him over and over with a booming voice that he couldn’t understand, thundering above his head.

He soon fell seriously ill, his body ached, and he felt weak.

Evan dared not touch him anymore and let Mina take care of him.

It took Mina half a year to teach him how to speak, and she told him that Evan was a giant and their master.

This place was created by giants as a “home” for them. The mini people who lived here were his “family.”

As a price, they had to perform some shows for the giants regularly, singing, dancing, or interacting with the giants in ways that pleased them.

As long as Evan was happy, he would create better buildings and reward them with clothes and food.

Hearing this explanation, Shen Yuzhe felt a sense of surreal absurdity.

After learning basic communication, he asked Mina, “Are we born like this?”

Mina sighed and said, “Of course, why not? You’re lucky, waking up to live in this carefree place.”

Shen Yuzhe found it strange, “Aren’t you?”

“Of course not,” Mina told him. She was born in the world of mini people, which was unsafe with all kinds of large insects and beasts. A small mistake could lead to death.

Oh, apart from the beasts, there were natural disasters too. Her sister was swept away and drowned when she didn’t return home in time during a rainstorm.

However, because Mina was beautiful, she was eventually chosen by Evan and brought here.

She was terrified when she was taken away from the world of mini people, especially when she saw the giants for the first time. Her reaction was much stronger than Shen Yuzhe’s; she was almost driven mad by fear.

“But you’ll get used to it. They are just huge in size and have deep voices. Most giants like us and treat us as treasures, admiring us in their palms. They won’t harm us,” Mina advised him.

Yet anger and unwillingness still filled Shen Yuzhe’s heart, making it hard for him to accept being a “plaything” of the giants.

Three months ago, Shen Yuzhe was asked to participate in a “performance” for the first time. He hid in the villa and refused to come out. Evan was angry and starved him for three days, ordering the other mini people not to give him food.

It was Mina who secretly saved some corn kernels and risked being discovered by Evan to help him through the ordeal.

For these three months, Mina had been trying to persuade Shen Yuzhe, but he seemed to be unresponsive every day, as if unmoved.

At this moment, Mina was anxiously looking at Shen Yuzhe and said, “Blake, have you forgotten the last punishment?”

Shen Yuzhe murmured, “I’m not called Blake, I’m called Yu.”

Not long ago, Shen Yuzhe woke up in the middle of the night from a nightmare, and without knowing why, he suddenly insisted on calling himself “Yu” instead of “Blake.”

Mina looked helpless, as if dealing with a stubborn child. “Alright, whatever you want to call yourself, stop being stubborn.”

A blonde beauty nearby chimed in with an amused expression, “Mina, don’t waste your words on this foolish kid. If he doesn’t listen, let him be. Even if Evan gets angry, he’ll only punish him. Let him suffer the consequences.”

Mina, however, persisted. She held Shen Yuzhe’s hand and pleaded, “Just bear with it, for my sake, okay?”

Listening to Mina’s tone, Shen Yuzhe slowly softened his stubborn attitude.

Mina hugged him and said, “Don’t be afraid, everything will be fine.”

For giants, the voices of mini people were too faint to be heard, so they weren’t worried about being overheard.

Evan was clearly displeased with Shen Yuzhe’s hiding, but seeing that he eventually came out, he happily introduced him to everyone, “Have you all seen this black-haired little fellow for the first time?”

A familiar friend said, “Yeah, we know Mina, Johnny, Lily, and the others well. It’s unexpected to see a new face today. Is he an Eastern mini person?”

Evan replied, “Correct, I bought him a year ago at the underground mini person trading center in Country A at a high price.”

The crowd started to buzz, wanting Evan to reveal how much money he had spent.

Evan teased for a while before rubbing his chin and extending a finger.

“One hundred million!?” the group exclaimed, applauding Evan’s generosity and becoming even more curious, leaning forward to get a closer look at Shen Yuzhe.

Evan continued to boast, “He has excellent genetics, learns quickly. He understood human speech within just a year, although he’s a bit shy.”

Standing under the gaze of a group of giants, Shen Yuzhe felt the unsettling sensation of being observed, their curious and probing eyes making him feel like he was stripped naked and placed under a microscope, sending shivers down his spine.

Their breath felt like waves of nauseating hot air coursing around him.

Shen Yuzhe slowly clenched his fists, unable to restrain himself as he tilted his head up, locking eyes with one of them.

The person he stared at was startled for a moment, then raised their head and suddenly laughed, “Haha, this little thing is quite fierce, huh? Did you all see his expression? He was just glaring at me!”
