Chapter 31

Song Qiming drove Lin Yushu back to the hotel, and they each drove back to their respective residential complexes.

Although Lin Yushu had a private parking space on the ground floor of his residential complex, he followed Song Qiming and parked the car on the underground second floor, thinking that they hadn’t finished discussing work matters yet.

“I thought about it on the way here. If Fang Lan isn’t motivated by interests, it can only mean that the interests haven’t reached the right level,” Lin Yushu said as they walked towards the elevator, immediately shifting to work matters. “We can check if Shao Hexu has any other projects that Fang Lan might be interested in, and use land as an exchange.”

“Let’s talk about it upstairs,” Song Qiming said. The elevator arrived at the underground second floor at the right time, and he walked behind Lin Yushu, pushing his shoulder as they entered the elevator. “Go back to your room and change your clothes first.”

“Then I’ll take a shower,” Lin Yushu said, as taking a shower would help him think. “Come to my room later.”

“Okay.”

As Lin Yushu was surrounded by hot water, he didn’t feel any discomfort in his body.

After all, he was a young man in his twenties. How could he catch a cold from just a little rain?

He quickly took a shower and washed his hair. Then, with his wet hair, he sat on the carpet, looking at the project materials under Shao Hexu’s control.

In recent years, Shao Hexu’s focus had been on the entertainment industry. If they wanted to get involved in real estate, it would have to be through the cinema business since shopping malls often had movie theaters.

Fang Lan wanted Yiyi to enter the entertainment industry, but since Shao Hexu refused to support her from behind the scenes, why not let Fang Lan take matters into her own hands?

It was indeed a viable option.

Although his throat felt slightly itchy, it wasn’t particularly uncomfortable. Lin Yushu continued studying the profitability of the cinema business.

Not long after, there was a knocking sound at the door. Lin Yushu went to the entrance and opened the door for Song Qiming, but as soon as the door opened, he couldn’t help but sneeze.

“Sorry,” he rubbed his nose with the back of his finger. “Couldn’t hold it in.”

“Have you taken any medicine?” Song Qiming entered the room. It was clear that he had also taken a shower, as there was a faint scent of shower gel on him.

“No need,” Lin Yushu returned to the coffee table and sat cross-legged on the carpet. “I’m fine.”

The coffee table was filled with business materials related to Shao Hexu. Lin Yushu picked up a stack of documents and handed them to Song Qiming, saying, “What do you think about letting Fang Lan take over this cinema business?”

He didn’t need to explain in detail, as Song Qiming already understood his meaning. “You want Fang Lan to pave the way for her daughter?”

“Since Shao Hexu is unwilling,” Lin Yushu wiped his damp hair with a towel draped around his neck, “let Fang Lan personally enter the entertainment industry. That way, we don’t have to worry about Yiyi’s development.”

“But in that case,” Song Qiming looked through the documents in his hand, “Shao Hexu and Fang Lan will be competing in the entertainment industry. Do you think Fang Lan has the desire for that?”

Lin Yushu leaned back on the sofa and looked at the ceiling. Then, somewhat dejectedly, he looked at Song Qiming and said, “Probably not.”

Fang Lan was not familiar with the entertainment industry, and that was why she couldn’t do anything to Yu Xiu except get a divorce.

On the other hand, if Fang Lan had power and influence in the entertainment industry, she could easily crush Yu Xiu. Would she still be so angry with Shao Hexu?

Unless Shao Hexu handed over all their entertainment industry projects to Fang Lan, but Shao Hexu would never agree to that.

“This matter is really difficult,” Lin Yushu said with a headache. “Even if we successfully convince Fang Lan and keep this land in Yong Xing Group, we still need to persuade Shao Hexu to agree to build a racetrack on this land.”

Song Qiming couldn’t reveal his plan at this moment.

Lin Yushu knew very well that the business world was like a battlefield, and he had no idea how many enemies were watching him in secret.

Sometimes, a seemingly mutually beneficial project could be hindered by someone whose interests were not directly related. They could jump out and create obstacles.

Not to mention, if Shao Guangjie found out about Song Qiming’s plan, he would definitely not sit idly by.

“Let’s take it step by step,” Song Qiming said as he looked through the other materials on the coffee table, thinking of other solutions.

At this moment, Lin Yushu began to feel something was wrong. He cleared his throat and tried to swallow some saliva, only to feel some pain in his tonsils. It was indeed a sign of a cold.

But how could a young man in his twenties easily succumb?

Lin Yushu cleared his throat and tried to swallow again, but as soon as he made a “cough cough” sound, Song Qiming put down the materials in his hand, frowned, and looked at him. “Go take some medicine.”

“I’m fine,” Lin Yushu muttered.

“Go take some medicine,” Song Qiming’s tone became serious, showing signs of anger.

Without waiting for Lin Yushu to reply, he stood up directly and asked, “Where’s the medicine?”

Okay, Lin Yushu decided not to argue anymore. After all, he was in his twenties and should start taking care of his health.

“The medicine is in the rightmost TV cabinet,” Lin Yushu said.

He had his own hands and feet and wasn’t busy with anything else, so there was no reason to let Song Qiming fetch things for him in his own home. However, he didn’t know if it was accepting the fact that he was sick, but he somehow felt that it was only natural for him to boss Song Qiming around, and Song Qiming seemed to have no objections to it.

After searching for a while at the TV cabinet, Song Qiming turned around and looked at Lin Yushu, frowning. “The medicine has expired. Do you ever take care of yourself?”

“Oh,” Lin Yushu said indifferently as he wiped his hair with a towel. “I’ll call for a delivery.”

“No need,” Song Qiming said, walking towards the front door. “I have some at my place.”

Song Qiming went home and brought a box of cold medicine. Lin Yushu obediently took the medicine, but Song Qiming wasn’t done yet.

“Go blow-dry your hair,” Song Qiming snatched the documents from Lin Yushu’s hand just as he picked them up.

“I’ll do it in a moment,” Lin Yushu reached out but couldn’t reach them. He complained, “Don’t interfere with my work. If you hinder me, you’re hindering yourself.”

“Go blow-dry your hair,” Song Qiming repeated, starting to tidy up the documents on the coffee table. “No work for today.”

Lin Yushu couldn’t argue with Song Qiming, so he reluctantly went to the bathroom to blow-dry his hair.

Out of habit, he took out his phone and checked his emails. He noticed an urgent email that required a quick response. So, just as the blow dryer had been on for ten seconds, it suddenly stopped.

“Didn’t I tell you to blow-dry your hair?” Song Qiming’s figure quickly appeared at the bathroom door, sounding displeased. “What are you doing now?”

“Right away, it’s a work email,” Lin Yushu replied to the email without looking up. But the next second, his phone was snatched away, and he was suddenly lifted into the air without any warning.

“Song Qiming?!” Lin Yushu was startled and instinctively wrapped his arms around Song Qiming’s neck. “What are you doing?”

Song Qiming carried Lin Yushu horizontally, striding across the living room, passing the entrance, and entered his own home. Only then did he say, “Keeping you away from work.”

Lin Yushu’s phone and work documents were left in his own home, truly keeping him away from work.

Wowo, who was lying on the sofa, looked at the two of them confusedly. Seeing that Song Qiming showed no sign of scolding him, he comfortably fell asleep on the sofa again.

“Where are you taking me?” As the bedroom came closer, Lin Yushu suddenly became nervous. “Put me down.”

Sure enough, Song Qiming carried Lin Yushu into the bedroom. “You’ll sleep here tonight, rest well, and no more work.”

After placing Lin Yushu on the bed, he added, “I’ll go get the blow dryer. Don’t wander around.”

Although Lin Yushu had been to Song Qiming’s home many times, this was the first time he entered Song Qiming’s bedroom.

Although it was just a minor cold, Lin Yushu felt his body burning fiercely for some reason.

After a while, Song Qiming returned to the bedroom with the blow dryer. He stood by the bed and started blow-drying Lin Yushu’s hair.

The buzzing sound made Lin Yushu’s head dizzy, and he wondered if it was because of the cold medicine. It seemed like he was getting dizzy so quickly.

Song Qiming’s big hands moved through his hair, causing Lin Yushu’s neck to feel weak, swaying left and right under Song Qiming’s kneading.

After a while, Song Qiming turned off the blow dryer. Lin Yushu, lying on the bed, still felt dizzy. He didn’t move and heard a faint laughter.

“Why are you laughing?” He raised his chin and looked up at Song Qiming, asking.

“It’s rare to see you like this,” Song Qiming said.

“Like what?” Lin Yushu asked.

“Just…” Song Qiming paused. “Very obedient.”

His face burned even more, and his head felt even more dizzy. Lin Yushu collapsed onto the bed, covering his head with the blanket, and mumbled, “I’m going to sleep.”

“Okay, goodnight,” Song Qiming said, neatly coiling the blow dryer’s cord and walking towards the door. But at that moment, Lin Yushu suddenly called out to him.

“By the way,” Lin Yushu poked his eyes out from under the blanket and looked at Song Qiming. “The password to my house is 1014. You can sleep over there.”

Both apartments had the same layout, with two bedrooms that were turned into study rooms. So, there was only one bed in both houses. Lin Yushu wasn’t heartless enough to let Song Qiming sleep on the sofa, so he voluntarily told him the password to his own house to provide a place for Song Qiming to sleep.

“The password to my house is also my birthday,” Song Qiming said. “Sleep well, don’t mind me.”

Song Qiming’s birthday?

That would be April 1st.

After closing the bedroom door, the room instantly became quiet. With no visual or auditory stimuli, Lin Yushu’s sense of smell became extremely sensitive. Song Qiming’s scent filled the air, both pleasant and comforting.

Outside, it seemed like Song Qiming was talking to Wowo about something, but Lin Yushu couldn’t hear clearly. He felt his eyelids getting heavier, and then he fell asleep.

After an unknown amount of time, Lin Yushu turned over in a daze and unexpectedly bumped his forehead into something solid, like a wall of flesh.

He didn’t think much of it and squeezed towards the “wall.” The pleasant scent became even stronger—it was Song Qiming’s scent.

“Song Qiming…” Lin Yushu murmured unconsciously.

“Hmm?” A deep voice sounded by his ear, and there was an inexplicable restraint around his waist.

Was he dreaming?

Lin Yushu didn’t think much of it and fell asleep again.

Song: I kidnapped your mom and brought him home. How awesome am I?

Wowo: Woof woof.
