Chapter 2
Fan Xing rubbed his sore cheek, looking back at He Qingmo’s back, feeling somewhat bewildered.
Why does this person seem different from what I imagined? He seems a bit childish.
Fan Xing had thought that He Qingmo, being the domineering CEO type, would react more seriously. However, he was acting like a child, saying he was angry but giving off a vibe that said, “Calm me down, calm me down.”
Fan Xing thought he might be going crazy. How could someone with He Qingmo’s image as a dominant CEO have such a side? He must be too nervous, causing hallucinations!
He stopped thinking about it and put the untouched cold noodles on the dining table into the refrigerator, planning to have them for breakfast the next day.
Then, he picked up his phone and typed out the sentence on the note card using Pinyin. He compared it to what he had written himself and found that he hadn’t made any mistakes!
He Qingmo had actually deceived him!
Fan Xing unconsciously wrinkled his nose and suddenly felt like challenging himself.
There was still some water left in the glass that He Qingmo had been drinking from earlier. Fan Xing dipped his finger in the water and began copying the characters from his phone onto the dining table.
He had grown up in an English-speaking environment and had never formally learned Chinese. The only person around him who could speak Chinese was his grandmother, and she didn’t speak standard Mandarin but rather a southern dialect.
The little Chinese he knew was learned from watching Chinese TV dramas when he was a child, mostly because his grandmother liked to watch them. As he grew older, he didn’t have much time to watch with her, so his opportunities to learn Chinese became even scarcer.
Originally, he didn’t need to learn it, and it didn’t matter whether he did or not.
But now, it was clear that he couldn’t avoid it.
He wasn’t challenging He Qingmo because he was angry about being deceived; he knew He Qingmo had no malicious intent. It was just that through this incident, he realized that he couldn’t treat Chinese with the same attitude of “learn it if you want to, or don’t.”
He had a characteristic of becoming deeply engrossed when he focused on something, forgetting everything else.
So when a strong hand reached from behind and held his hand, he only realized that He Qingmo had somehow stood behind him when he was writing.
He instinctively tried to pull his hand back but was held tighter and received a stern gaze, “Concentrate on your calligraphy!” After saying that, He Qingmo grabbed his hand and wrote the character “wan” stroke by stroke.
To be honest, it was beautifully written, especially compared to Fan Xing’s crooked and uneven characters. However, Fan Xing wasn’t in the mood to appreciate it. He felt his body stiff, not daring to move.
They were too close, and he could clearly smell the fragrance of He Qingmo’s shower gel. He was afraid that the slightest movement would bring him even closer to the man’s embrace.
He Qingmo, on the other hand, seemed unaware of his discomfort. He calmly asked, “Did Uncle not teach you well?”
Huh?
Fan Xing didn’t understand at first and only realized when he met the man’s eyes that he was still concerned about the slip of his tongue earlier.
Feeling a bit guilty, after all, he had said the wrong thing and upset the other person, he knew he should take responsibility.
So he let out a quiet sigh and lowered his head, “I actually meant to say… ‘husband.'”
His voice was very soft, almost inaudible.
But they were so close that it didn’t escape He Qingmo’s ears. The man’s eyes slightly darkened, then he chuckled silently, pinching Fan Xing’s blushing earlobe and said with a smile, “Nice. Say it again!”
Haha with that husband she did it to the bag
