After Transmigrating, I Started a Paid Romance with the CEO
by Lin Ang Si

SUMMARY
Pei Qingjian finds himself transmigrated—into the body of the short-lived CEO Lan Xingchen’s newly hired “canary” in the story, just after signing a contract and before officially starting work.
Pei Qingjian thinks: …Who in their right mind supports a canary?
He glances down and sees the contract clearly stating the price: five million.
Pei Qingjian: Damn! No wonder he said this big shot in front of him is so handsome! Alright, fine, rich daddy, no problem, rich daddy.
And so:
- Lan Xingchen has a sensitive stomach—Pei Qingjian personally cooks for him.
- When Lan Xingchen goes out, Pei Qingjian is obedient and sweet.
- Even when Lan Xingchen wants to “explore the mysteries of life” with him, Pei Qingjian does not refuse.
Lan Xingchen’s friends and family are envious: “Handsome and treats you well? Xingchen, you’re so lucky!”
Lan Xingchen agrees wholeheartedly. He thinks, “He’s so attentive… he must really love me! If we separate, I’ll be devastated!”
Sure enough, one year later, the contract ends.
Lan Xingchen notices Pei Qingjian seems troubled, several times trying to say something but holding back.
He loves me this much, must be unwilling to leave but too shy to say it… this humble, heart-wrenching love! My little canary is so adorable!
Lan Xingchen decides to give his little canary an official boyfriend status:
“Do you have something to tell me?” he asks. “Say it, I’ll agree to anything.”
Pei Qingjian, excited after a year of hard work and earning money, thinking about travel plans: ???
Lan Xingchen: “I’ve noticed you’ve been in a bad mood these past few days.”
Pei Qingjian: Oh, that… how should I tell you, my dear rich daddy… your life is almost up.
Lan Xingchen: “So don’t stress.”
Pei Qingjian: Sigh… why did someone so fine have to die young?
Lan Xingchen: “Say it boldly.”
Pei Qingjian: “They say the temple in Chengnan is very effective—maybe go pray there if you have time.”
Lan Xingchen: ???
Later, Pei Qingjian is surprised to find Lan Xingchen hasn’t died at 26, as the book said.
Not only that—Lan Xingchen corners him at the door, pressing him against the wall.
Pei Qingjian: ??? Is this… like a CEO romance wall-kiss scene? Okay, I can do this!
He diligently wraps his arms around Lan Xingchen’s neck and kisses him.
Lan Xingchen: !!!
Pei Qingjian: “After-sales service, one free, after three times, extra charge~”
Lan Xingchen: …
Lan Xingchen pulls him into the room: “Charge? I’ll pay you for life.”
Pei Qingjian: ??? A lifetime? That’s overkill!
Afterwards, wrapped in a blanket, Pei Qingjian reflects: “I thought we had a purely transactional relationship—you pay, I perform, done.”
Lan Xingchen hugs his waist: “…maybe you could change the last four words.”
“For example?”
“Paid romance.”
