Chapter 33

Fu Yu’s expression was a mix of surprise and sharpness as if hearing about this for the first time.

Chen Shaoguang, upon hearing Xiao Yi’s request, felt weak in the legs and ended up sitting on the ground in shock.

“Since he already knows your feelings, you can’t stay by his side anymore. What difference does a little more or less guilt make?” Xiao Yi analyzed the pros and cons for him. “As long as you confess, I will keep your position at Guangyu. Whether both lose or at least one is retained, it’s up to you to choose.”

Chen Shaoguang’s gaze was vacant, and he sat slumped for a long time. Eventually, he stood up, trembling, holding onto the table, and didn’t dare to look at Fu Yu’s expression at this moment.

“Now that you already know, what choice do I have? I…,” Chen Shaoguang began.

Xiao Yi secretly exchanged a triumphant look with Fu Yu. They actually didn’t know what Chen Shaoguang had done specifically, but Xiao Yi threw out the two most crucial guesses, sounding as if he had already seen through everything. The purpose was to induce the other party to reveal the truth.

Chen Shaoguang haltingly recounted the events that led to the misunderstanding between them.

At that time, he didn’t plan it for a long time; it was a spontaneous decision.

It happened when their classmates went to physical education class, and, as the group leader, he had to submit the assignments to the teacher during the break. Originally, he could have gone to the physical education class after submitting the assignments. However, the teacher found that Xiao Yi’s assignment was missing after counting, so he asked Chen Shaoguang to find Xiao Yi and get the assignment.

Chen Shaoguang had no choice but to bravely go to the playground to find him. Upon arriving, he saw Xiao Yi, the person he feared and loathed, embracing Fu Yu’s shoulder and laughing. Even Xiao Yi’s usually cold face showed a faint smile. The gaze he directed at Xiao Yi was gentle, a look that he had never shown to anyone else.

Although Chen Shaoguang had seen this scene countless times, he still felt jealous to the point of gritting his teeth. Suppressing his emotions, he approached and asked Xiao Yi for the assignment. Xiao Yi immediately returned to his fierce and evil demeanor, saying disdainfully, “Not done,” and then left with Fu Yu.

Chen Shaoguang was so angry that he trembled. He went back to the classroom to look for Xiao Yi’s assignment, fuming at the unfairness of it all. Why could Xiao Yi, who didn’t complete the assignment, happily go to physical education class and play with Fu Yu, while he had to help submit the assignment and couldn’t even attend the class? It was so unfair!

Suddenly, he paused while searching through Xiao Yi’s schoolbag. He found a letter in Xiao Yi’s bag addressed to “Fu Yu.”

Xiao Yi wrote a letter to Fu Yu? Why would two deskmates write letters instead of talking? Driven by curiosity, Chen Shaoguang carefully opened the letter.

It turned out to be a love letter.

Chen Shaoguang couldn’t believe that someone as rebellious as Xiao Yi would do such an old-fashioned and romantic thing. For some reason, he felt that if Fu Yu received this love letter, he would definitely accept it.

He couldn’t allow such a thing to happen.

Xiao Yi was already favored by fate. Why should he also take Fu Yu away? People like Fu Yu, who were as pure and noble as the moon, should only be admired from afar and should not be touched by anyone, especially not by someone like Xiao Yi, with his inferior and intolerable nature.

In that instant, Chen Shaoguang had the boldest idea of his life: he wanted to separate the two of them.

His twisted mind worked faster than anything else. Acting decisively, he took the original letter, and while everyone was in physical education class, he wrote another letter with vulgar and indecent content, imitating Xiao Yi’s handwriting. He sealed the envelope exactly as it was and put it back in Xiao Yi’s bag in the same position.

He didn’t believe that Fu Yu, such a clean and upright person, wouldn’t be disgusted after seeing this letter from Xiao Yi.

But Fu Yu didn’t react as Chen Shaoguang had expected.

As the sports committee member, Chen Shaoguang usually went to the gym to organize equipment after school. He happened to overhear the conversation between Xiao Yi and Fu Yu outside the door.

When he heard Fu Yu saying that he didn’t mind Xiao Yi’s embrace and even agreed to consider it, Chen Shaoguang was both shocked and puzzled.

Fu Yu had changed. He had taken on a human touch, displaying emotions he had never shown before. He was no longer untouchable and unattainable, and all these changes in behavior were directed solely at Xiao Yi.

Fu Yu was no longer the white moonlight he had admired.

Since sooner or later someone would touch him, it might as well be Chen Shaoguang.

The crazy sinister thoughts quickly sprouted like vines, leading to the scene in the gym.

Seeing Xiao Yi being taken to the office by a teacher, Chen Shaoguang took Xiao Yi’s school uniform tie from his locker. Thinking that he could succeed with his familiarity with the gym, he was surprised to find that Fu Yu was not as weak as he had imagined. Fu Yu’s kick almost left him unable to get up, and all his evil thoughts were kicked away. He fled from the scene in terror.

Although he failed, the ultimate goal was still achieved. The misunderstanding between Fu Yu and Xiao Yi was too deep, and a complete rupture occurred. Chen Shaoguang could have taken advantage of the situation to gain a little trust and favor from Fu Yu, but now it was all in vain.

After listening to Chen Shaoguang’s account, the two of them exchanged a complex look, seeing complicated emotions in each other’s eyes.

“Is what you said true?” Fu Yu asked.

“It’s true…” Chen Shaoguang still didn’t dare to look up at him. Now, the only consolation for him was that even if Fu Yu knew he had misunderstood Xiao Yi, the gap between the two of them might not be able to be eliminated. It seemed that Xiao Yi also didn’t care much about Fu Yu now.

Xiao Yi sneered, “Heh, you’re really good. You played both of us like a fiddle.”

Cold sweat broke out on Chen Shaoguang’s forehead. “You promised not to expel me if I confessed…”

“Don’t worry, I keep my word, but there’s something I want you to know.”

Chen Shaoguang looked up in confusion, and Xiao Yi provocatively raised the corner of his mouth, embracing Fu Yu’s waist beside him, leaning over to gently peck his cheek.

Fu Yu sent a “don’t tease” look, but there wasn’t any real displeasure.

It wasn’t until this moment that Xiao Yi truly felt the simultaneous explosion of revenge and pleasure. “I’m really sorry, you went through so much trouble. We are together now, and he took the initiative to ask me out.”

Fu Yu looked at Xiao Yi, who was triumphant, his boasting tone making him appear somewhat childish, yet also… somewhat charming.

Chen Shaoguang was dumbfounded, unconsciously opening his mouth and staring with wide eyes. After a long time, he realized that he had fallen into a trap.

“You… you two!”

Fu Yu said in a low voice, “Chen Shaoguang, don’t appear in front of me again. Dongjian also won’t allow you to set foot inside. Everything you said just now has been recorded. The evidence of your attempted crime is in the recording.”

Fu Yu picked up his briefcase from the table, inside of which a miniature camera had been placed in advance. With this evidence, he wasn’t afraid of Chen Shaoguang causing trouble or seeking revenge in the future. Although, given his abilities, Chen Shaoguang was unlikely to stir up any more storms.

He no longer paid attention to Chen Shaoguang, who was sitting on the ground as pale as a ghost. Turning around, he pulled Xiao Yi’s hand, “Let’s go.”

Xiao Yi was quite pleased with such an intimate gesture. He followed Fu Yu without looking back, leaving the room.

“What do you plan to do next?” Fu Yu asked.

“He’s really stupid. From now on, Guangyu is under my control. He thinks he can still have a good life under my command?”

Xiao Yi sneered, “Revenge, huh? It wouldn’t be interesting if it’s all done at once.”
