Chapter 176
In stark contrast to Su Bin’s flustered state, Allen calmly took out his phone and sent a text message. In just a moment, a man dressed in black appeared in front of him—Simon, one of Allen’s bodyguards.
Allen asked, “How many days has it been?”
Though Allen didn’t specify, Simon answered immediately, “Twelve days.”
Allen raised an eyebrow. “Oh?” He hadn’t realized it had been so long; he thought it had only been a few days.
Simon continued, “In the first few days, he only passed by here around noon to go to the pizza place around the corner for lunch. I wasn’t sure if he was following him, but in recent days, it’s been more obvious. However, so far, there’s been no other signs of harassment.”
While notifying Robert to come pick him up, Allen asked, “What’s his background? Have you checked?”
Simon nodded. “He was originally a student at Z University in China. He has no records of entering B Country before, and we couldn’t find out how he learned about your work at the medical school. He hasn’t been following you directly to this location.”
Allen frowned. “Is this his first time in B Country?”
Simon replied, “Yes… Your Highness, would you like to take action and arrange for him to move somewhere else?”
Allen hesitated. In the past, he would have dealt with such matters quickly, nipping any potential trouble in the bud. But at this moment, he hesitated… He remembered Su Bin’s slightly sorrowful gaze, and it was so different from the “perverted” people he had encountered before. Su Bin’s eyes were pure, without any taint of desire, but they carried a trace of something that made him want to understand more.
“Perhaps…” Allen murmured, “Let’s observe for a bit longer.”
Despite the setbacks, Su Bin’s resolve to pursue Allen remained unshaken. If he were easily discouraged by small obstacles, his feelings would seem too fragile.
Besides, Allen’s indifference was expected. Who would fall in love at first sight with someone who had only spent a few days with them and had such suspicious behavior? Real life isn’t a drama, after all!
Taking a deep breath, Su Bin gathered his courage. His immediate priority was to try and prevent Allen from switching rooms with Yang Chengzhe. If they switched, the opportunities for them to meet and interact would be even fewer…
It was heartbreaking to think of the things he couldn’t get in his previous life, and now to see them slip away again.
Before the weekend came, Su Bin found an opportunity to stop Allen and speak openly with him.
“Allen, I want to talk to you about the room switch…” Though he had gathered his courage, Su Bin didn’t dare look Allen in the eye, because his gaze seemed cold enough to freeze him. “Sorry, I overheard your conversation with Joe the other day. Actually, if you mind sharing a bathroom with me, I can use the one downstairs.” There was a shared bathroom in the living room, and as for showering, he could go to Jin Fei’s place—Jin Fei certainly wouldn’t mind.
“It’s not because of you,” Allen calmly rejected him. “It’s just a personal habit.”
Once again, Su Bin was brushed off without a hint of emotion. He quickly added, “But I heard you’ve been in your room for a long time already. Wouldn’t it feel strange to switch now?”
Allen studied Su Bin carefully before asking, “Why don’t you want me to switch? Wouldn’t it be more compatible for you to live with Joe?”
Su Bin was stumped. He knew deep down that, despite all his efforts to hold back, he couldn’t completely hide his special feelings for Allen. Someone as perceptive as Allen would surely notice.
Allen casually unbuttoned his shirt collar, perhaps trying to ease the tension, but his eyes remained locked on Su Bin’s face, studying every small change in his expression—what was this guy thinking? It was all written on his face.
“I think…”
“You think what?” Allen pressed.
Su Bin, flustered, blurted out, “I think you’re really cool.”
Allen: “…”
Su Bin wanted to bury himself in the ground. Why did he say “cool”? Why not something else? Before Allen could respond, Su Bin quickly added, “I don’t want to cause you any trouble!”
Allen tilted his head slightly, then suddenly smiled. “Cool? Is that why you’re so nervous?”
Su Bin was stunned. He never expected Allen to smile at him. This was the first time Allen had smiled at him since he had crossed over into this life. Su Bin stared at Allen’s smile, mesmerized, almost greedily drinking in the sight… What was he supposed to do? He just wanted to rush over and kiss him~~
Allen coughed lightly, covering his mouth with his fist. “Alright, I suppose I can try living with you for a while longer.”
“…!” Had he succeeded? Su Bin looked at Allen, unable to hide his excitement and joy.
The room switch had been delayed for now, but that didn’t mean Su Bin could get closer to Allen. How to win Allen’s heart was still a monumental problem.
With no clear solution, Su Bin decided to seek advice from the “social prince” himself on how to chase someone.
“Flies~~” Despite starting over in this life, Su Bin’s relationship with Jin Fei remained as strong as ever. They seemed to have a special magnetic connection, always becoming great friends no matter what.
“What’s up?” Jin Fei asked as he was playing a racing video game, holding the controller.
Su Bin plopped down beside him, leaning back on his hands and getting straight to the point. “I’ve fallen for someone…”
“Tsk, didn’t you just break up with your ex?” Jin Fei shot him a sideways glance. “Now you’re onto someone new already?”
Su Bin twitched his lips. “I haven’t had feelings for my ex for a long time.”
Jin Fei smirked. “So, which girl are you into? No joke, almost every decent-looking girl in the Chinese community of M City has already been asked out by me! Tell me, maybe I know her and can help you evaluate her… especially her skills in the bedroom.”
“Shut up!” Su Bin’s face darkened. As for those skills, he didn’t need to be told—he already had plenty of experience…
Jin Fei raised an eyebrow. “Then why are you coming to me?”
Su Bin hesitated but then said, “I want to chase him, but I don’t know how. I want to ask for your advice.”
Jin Fei swayed his body with the movements on the screen and mysteriously said, “That’s easy! I have a secret to share…”
At these words, Su Bin immediately wondered if it was what he thought it was.
“If she’s pure and innocent, take her to see the wonders of the world. If she’s been through a lot, take her on a ride on a carousel~~”
“…I knew it!”
“Woman, they’re mostly materialistic. Send a small gift, create some romance, and sometimes play hard to get, and you’ll win them over,” Jin Fei continued, confident in his “methods.”
Su Bin sighed. “That won’t work with him.”
Jin Fei chuckled. “I’m a seasoned expert. I guarantee that if you master it and apply it right, ninety-nine percent of girls will fall for you! Of course…” He glanced at Su Bin and then shifted his gaze to his lap. “After you win them over, how long it lasts depends on your abilities in other areas.”
…That damn fly! Su Bin thought, exasperated. He really couldn’t have a normal conversation with Jin Fei. “Too bad he’s in that one percent!”
Jin Fei’s expression shifted as he burst into laughter. “Oh, so serious? You really like him, huh?”
Su Bin flushed and lowered his head. “He’s a guy.”
“Pfft…” Jin Fei nearly dropped his controller in shock. “What? You’re gay?”
Su Bin didn’t hide it. “I’m not naturally gay, I just like him.”
Jin Fei eyed Su Bin’s lap again. “So, you have sexual urges for him?”
Su Bin’s eye twitched. He gritted his teeth but still tried to explain his feelings patiently. “It’s not just about sleeping with him. I want to be with him, to be by his side all the time, to care for him, and make him happy and healthy.”
Jin Fei paused, then asked, “Do you know him well?”
Su Bin smiled bitterly. He probably knew more about Allen than anyone in this world.
He knew exactly what food Allen liked, what drinks he enjoyed, the kind of clothes he wore, and even the brand of his boots. He also knew Allen’s preferred shower gel and cologne, yet none of that mattered at this stage.
Thinking back, the moments he had spent with Allen were all after they started “dating” in his past life. The things he did to please Allen back then were either the playful teasing or the intimacy they shared after getting together. But he couldn’t just slap a “Please bully me” or “I’m the submissive” label on his forehead, could he?
“I know him, but right now, he doesn’t need me. He’s cold and very self-centered, and I feel powerless… I’ve thought about confessing to him. I’m not afraid of being rejected, but I’m scared he’ll hate me…” Su Bin was genuinely troubled, something he had never experienced before—this sense of constant worry and uncertainty.
Jin Fei didn’t expect Su Bin to be so serious about this. He stroked his chin thoughtfully.
It sounded like the guy was way out of Su Bin’s league. If that guy wasn’t interested, and Su Bin revealed his feelings too soon, the risks would be too high. It was better to be patient and gradually stir his interest.
“Hang in there. Don’t confess,” Jin Fei said seriously.
