Chapter 80

Su Yunzhe’s previously sour feelings were completely dissolved by Shen Yan’s gentle coaxing as he wrapped his arm around him and spoke sweetly.

He felt like a child—just a few kind words from Shen Yan were enough to make him forget everything, much like a child who gets distracted by candy.

The Shen family villa was huge, and since Shen Yan needed private space for his writing, the entire top floor was his alone.

In addition to his own bedroom, which connected to a study, there was also a guest room on the other side of the living room. It had rarely been used, but it was regularly cleaned and the bedding changed.

Shen Yan first took him to his room to check on the peacefully sleeping child to reassure him, then led him to the guest room.

Knowing that he had a tiring day of meetings ahead, Shen Yan didn’t disturb him much. After briefly explaining the layout of the bathroom, he left the room.

By now, it was past 1 AM. The little one was sound asleep, but Shen Yan, for some reason, still couldn’t fall asleep. He tossed and turned in bed, then decided to get up and go to the study to grab a book, though he couldn’t focus on a single word.

He put the book down and lay still on the bed, staring at the ceiling blankly. It seemed like he could hear something coming from the guest room.

But of course, that was impossible. The house had great soundproofing, and there was a small lounge between his bedroom and the guest room, so it was highly unlikely he could hear anything.

He knew it was just his mind playing tricks on him—simply because Su Yunzhe was staying in his house, which made him both excited and a little nervous.

It felt like the first time he was bringing his boyfriend home to meet his parents.

Well, not exactly meeting them yet, but they would tomorrow morning.

Just like how he never expected his family to meet Su Zihang, he hadn’t thought about the day when Su Yunzhe would meet his parents.

But that seemed fair.

He recalled how nervous he had been when he met Su Yunzhe’s family.

Too bad Su Yunzhe didn’t even know what their relationship was, so when he met his family, he would probably just treat them like a friend’s parents. He wouldn’t be as nervous and uneasy as Shen Yan had been.

It was a bit frustrating to think about!

With these thoughts swirling in his mind, Shen Yan found it even harder to fall asleep. Noticing that the little one was sleeping soundly, he worried that his tossing and turning might disturb him, so he decided to leave the room and head to the living room to watch a movie.

When he opened the door, he found the living room lights still on, the TV already playing.

He peeked around the corner and saw Su Yunzhe, who had just finished his shower, lounging on the couch. The TV was playing a dramatic show about the complicated relationships between mothers-in-law and daughters-in-law, with an intense argument unfolding. But Su Yunzhe seemed lost in thought, staring at the chandelier above, not even noticing Shen Yan walking over.

Shen Yan grabbed the remote and changed the channel. Only then did Su Yunzhe react, softly asking, “Did I disturb you?”

Su Yunzhe had just washed his hair, and it was soft, hanging loosely in front of his forehead, giving him a particularly gentle look.

If Su Yunzhe hadn’t forgotten about him, Shen Yan would have probably rushed over to embrace him, maybe even nuzzling him.

But now, he simply sat beside him and shook his head. “No, I just came out to get some water.” He told a small lie. “Is something wrong? Did something happen at work?”

Shen Yan couldn’t imagine Su Yunzhe losing sleep over work issues. In all the years they’d known each other, he’d never seen Su Yunzhe worry about his job.

But now, he couldn’t understand why Su Yunzhe was sitting in his living room at this hour, staring blankly at a soap opera.

Su Yunzhe shook his head. “No, I’m just…”

He paused, his dark eyes flickering under the light from the TV.

Shen Yan wasn’t sure if it was just his imagination, but he felt that Su Yunzhe seemed a bit nervous, hesitant even.

“What’s wrong…?”

Su Yunzhe turned to face him, finally voicing the words that had been stuck in his throat.

“I’m just… worried that it might not be appropriate for me to stay at your house like this. What are your parents and your brother and sister like?”

Shen Yan blinked in surprise, then smiled inwardly. Su Yunzhe was actually nervous. This was too amusing!

Of course, he couldn’t show his joy outwardly. Instead, he put on a troubled expression. “Well, you’re right. It’s a bit inappropriate for me to have you stay here. My family thinks very poorly of you. They say you’re a playboy, messing around with women, getting them pregnant, making them have the child, and then dumping them. They think you’re just an irresponsible jerk!”

These words came from Shen Fei, who had inquired about Su Yunzhe through friends. The results were less than flattering, though Shen Yan wasn’t sure how true they were. Regardless, it didn’t matter to him—just like when he found himself in the world of the novel, marrying the jerk Duan Yang, he had no control over Su Yunzhe’s past either, so it wasn’t important.

At this moment, he just wanted to see Su Yunzhe’s reaction.

However, Su Yunzhe furrowed his brows, lost in thought.

Shen Yan waved a hand in front of his face. “What are you thinking about? You’re not really scared, are you?”

“I actually don’t know who Zihang’s mother is,” Su Yunzhe said, looking up at Shen Yan with a serious expression.

“Huh?” Shen Yan was caught off guard.

Su Yunzhe emphasized, “I really don’t know who Zihang’s mother is. Every time I think about it, all I see is a fog in my memory, and I can’t remember anything. The truth is, no one knows who Zihang’s mother is. So, everyone just assumes he’s the result of my messy relationships.”

So, the rumors were false.

Shen Yan had always been curious about whether Su Yunzhe and the little one were like him—whether their souls had crossed into bodies that looked identical and shared the same names in this world, or if they were actual time travelers.

It now seemed that they were likely time travelers, but had forgotten their previous lives and the people from that world.

As for why their original bodies had crossed over with memories of this world, that was outside his consideration. After all, the two worlds had already blended in ways that didn’t make sense scientifically, so it was no surprise that other strange occurrences happened too.

“Hm?”

Shen Yan was lost in thought, trying to figure out the relationships between the three of them in this world when his chin was suddenly pinched.

He looked up in confusion and met Su Yunzhe’s eyes. The dark gaze that met his was filled with uncertainty, with an underlying sense of urgency in his tone. “You don’t believe me?”

The two were now close, face to face, and Shen Yan could almost smell the body wash on Su Yunzhe. His mind momentarily wandered, but then he smiled and teased, “Whether I believe you or not doesn’t matter…”

“It matters!”

Shen Yan froze, staring at Su Yunzhe, his heart racing wildly.

He had intended to crack a joke to ease the tension, especially since he and Su Yunzhe had only known each other for three days.

But Su Yunzhe was looking at him so earnestly, interrupting him seriously, saying “It matters,” and Shen Yan could almost hear the unspoken words in his gaze—It doesn’t matter whether others believe, only you matter most.

Bastard!

Shen Yan thought Su Yunzhe was a big jerk. He had clearly forgotten about him, yet he kept doing things that made his heart race.

And yet… he couldn’t help but be drawn to it. What was he supposed to do?

“They say you… don’t like men. Is that true?”

Shen Yan kept looking at Su Yunzhe, his voice soft and a little dreamy as it escaped his soft pink lips.

Su Yunzhe suddenly felt his mouth go dry. His gaze was fixed on Shen Yan’s lips, unable to look away. He shook his head, “I don’t know. I’ve never tried.”

“Want to try?” Shen Yan’s pink lips parted, forming a few words with an alluring rise in the tone.

Su Yunzhe’s mouth felt even drier. Unconsciously, he licked his lips, “How do we try…”

Before he could finish, he saw those soft pink lips move closer to him, and then felt the warmth of them, followed by a soft, wet tongue brushing against his lips.

It was like a dragonfly’s kiss—fleeting.

Shen Yan pulled back slightly, looking into his eyes as he asked, “Do you hate it?”

“It was too short. I didn’t feel anything.” Su Yunzhe replied.

A smile curled on Shen Yan’s lips, even carrying a hint of sweetness. He leaned in, wrapping his arms around Su Yunzhe’s neck, their eyes meeting as he whispered with a small laugh, “Then let’s make it longer.” And with that, he kissed him again.

This time, it wasn’t just a fleeting kiss. Shen Yan was trying to go further.

Actually, he wasn’t very skilled at kissing—usually, it was Su Yunzhe who took the lead. So, when it was his turn to take the initiative, his movements were somewhat clumsy.

But Su Yunzhe seemed to enjoy it, pulling Shen Yan into a tight embrace, his other hand threading through Shen Yan’s hair to hold his head, taking control of the kiss.

Shen Yan felt his mind go hazy as his breath became erratic, his protest only escaping in muffled sounds through his nose, intensifying the already charged atmosphere.

Su Yunzhe pulled back slightly, giving him a moment of air, but his body remained pressed against Shen Yan’s, lips still lightly touching.

Shen Yan gently pushed him away, his voice still muffled as he spoke through his nose, “Do you hate it?”

Su Yunzhe pulled away from his lips, looking down at him with a slightly hoarse voice. “It feels nice. Let’s do it again.” With that, he leaned in once more.

Shen Yan couldn’t help but chuckle, about to pull Su Yunzhe closer again, but suddenly, the little one’s voice came from the bedroom.

He quickly pushed Su Yunzhe away, jumping off the couch and rushing to the bedroom.

Though Su Yunzhe was still unsatisfied, he was concerned about his son, so he followed him to check.

The little one hadn’t woken up but was mumbling in his sleep.

As Shen Yan and Su Yunzhe entered, the child’s little mouth moved, muttering something indistinct.

Shen Yan leaned over the bed, gently stroking the child’s face, who didn’t seem to notice at all.

“He’s just like a little pig when he falls asleep, never waking up.”

“Do you know you’re still this worried?” Su Yunzhe’s tone carried a bit of resentment, as if forgetting that he had rushed over just as anxiously.

Shen Yan turned around and smiled brightly at him. “It’s late, Mr. Su. Good night.” He then lifted the covers and climbed into bed, lying next to the little one, extending his hand to wave goodbye to Su Yunzhe.

Watching Shen Yan lying next to his son, Su Yunzhe felt even more resentful.

The kiss had been unsatisfying, and now he had to go to the guest room.

He opened his mouth to say something but swallowed the words at the last second, instead muttering, “Good night!”

Then, he turned, closed the door behind him, and left.

Shen Yan stared at the door for a long while. Had Su Yunzhe been about to say, “Can I sleep here”?

When they were at home, the little one usually slept by himself, but sometimes he would throw a tantrum and insist on sleeping with Shen Yan.

The master bedroom bed was large, but the little one really took up too much space when sleeping. If all three of them slept together, the bed wouldn’t be enough. So, Shen Yan usually let Su Yunzhe sleep in the guest room.

Then Su Yunzhe would give Shen Yan that look again, standing by the bed, looking pitiful, wanting to stay. Most of the time, no matter what Shen Yan said, Su Yunzhe would stubbornly stay. After the little one fell asleep, he would take him back to his own room.

The little one would wake up in the morning and cry when he found he hadn’t slept with Shen Yan.

And the next time, Su Yunzhe would do it again.

But now, it seemed that Su Yunzhe was still considering their ambiguous relationship, and he couldn’t bring himself to do anything too shameless.

Although, what had just happened wasn’t exactly modest.

Hadn’t he just pinned him to the sofa, saying, “Feels good, let’s do it again”?

But… it did feel good!

Shen Yan touched his lips, thinking about the kiss, his heartbeat quickening and even feeling a little embarrassed.

He pulled the blanket over his face, feeling like he was becoming more and more helpless.

After so many years, even as an old married couple, a single kiss still made his heart race. It was clear that his desires were unfulfilled.

He rolled over, burying his face in the pillow, feeling that he couldn’t face anyone, especially Su Yunzhe.

If Su Yunzhe eventually remembered everything and realized that Shen Yan had desires too, he would probably be overjoyed.

On the other side, Su Yunzhe wasn’t any better off. Lying in bed, his mind was consumed with the image of Shen Yan’s eyes, wet with emotion, and his enticing, swollen lips after the kiss.

As he thought about it, he found himself growing harder.

How was he supposed to sleep now?

When Shen Yan asked him if he disliked men, he wasn’t sure, just as he wasn’t sure whether he disliked women. He had never liked anyone.

So, when he was with Shen Yan, he kept losing control. During their kiss, he found Shen Yan’s lips sweet and soft, and he almost wanted to devour him. It didn’t surprise him.

But, he hadn’t expected that at his age, he would be so affected by a kiss from a young man, unable to sleep from unfulfilled desire.

In the end, he had no choice but to go to the bathroom and take matters into his own hands.
