Chapter 21
Xia Leyang slouched on the living room sofa, cautiously shielding the phone screen with his hand, and typed a few words into the webpage.
In what situations do men kiss other men?
The webpage provided answers: either they are homosexuals or gay.
Frowning, Xia Leyang quickly deleted those words and rephrased the question.
How can men transfer yang energy to other men?
Surprisingly, the webpage popped up with numerous methods of extracting yang energy from men. Xia Leyang clicked on one, only to find the content unbearable.
No, this is completely unreliable.
Throwing his phone aside, Xia Leyang lay lifelessly on the sofa, thinking about how foolish he was last night. Not only was he manipulated by the female ghost, but he was also led around by Shang Tingzhi.
This female ghost was peculiar. When she possessed Xia Leyang, he could clearly feel her intense desire for men. It was a genuine feeling. Although Xia Leyang was not gay, under the influence of the female ghost, he surprisingly felt a kind of hunger and thirst.
Recalling the inexplicable kiss from last night, Xia Leyang rubbed his head in confusion.
He vividly remembered not feeling repulsed at all. Instead, when Shang Tingzhi left, he felt a hint of reluctance.
It’s all because of that female ghost.
With resentment, Xia Leyang withdrew his hand from his head. However, when he saw a few strands of hair he had pulled out, his resentment towards the female ghost deepened.
“Cough.” Shang Tingzhi leaned against the living room side door and coughed. “What are you doing?”
Hearing Shang Tingzhi’s voice, Xia Leyang looked towards him. Shang Tingzhi was dressed in loose linen home clothes and matching black pants. His upright figure turned ordinary clothes into a fashion show, coupled with his sharp eyebrows, starry eyes, and high nose bridge, Xia Leyang inexplicably felt the itching sensation he had when the female ghost possessed him.
“Hmph.” Xia Leyang snorted and forced himself to avert his gaze.
Sensing Xia Leyang was still angry, Shang Tingzhi, with patience he rarely exhibited, softly coaxed, “Is your face red? Are you feeling unwell?”
“I’m not blushing!” Xia Leyang absolutely refused to admit that he blushed because of Shang Tingzhi. He retorted with a fierce tone, “Just stay away from me, you accomplice of the female ghost.”
“How could I be an accomplice?” Shang Tingzhi was also helpless. He didn’t know how to catch ghosts. In the situation last night, the safest approach was to let the female ghost leave on her own. Although objectively speaking, he did take advantage, he had no intention of conspiring with the female ghost to deceive Xia Leyang.
“I’ll ask Li Shan to come over; he’s available tomorrow.” Shang Tingzhi sat down next to Xia Leyang, and Xia Leyang immediately turned his back to the sofa, indicating he didn’t want to talk.
“Yang Yang,” Shang Tingzhi coaxed with a patience he rarely showed, “don’t be angry.”
Without saying a word, Xia Leyang turned away from Shang Tingzhi, using his fingers to make the number “two.”
Confused, Shang Tingzhi asked, and Xia Leyang, facing away, said in a sulky tone, “You owe me twice.”
Raising an eyebrow, Shang Tingzhi thought, fine, I owe you.
Li Shan wouldn’t be available until tomorrow, and Xia Leyang didn’t know if the possession happened because the talisman was ineffective or because he didn’t have it on him.
He was more inclined towards the latter, as this afternoon, he deliberately closed the windows in his bedroom, turned on the air conditioning, and tremblingly held the talisman while hiding in the corner, waiting for the female ghost to appear. However, the female ghost didn’t show up.
Feeling reassured that the talisman was effective, Xia Leyang relaxed a bit.
After several encounters, he found that the female ghost wasn’t as scary as he had imagined. Movie ghosts were usually depicted as menacing and terrifying, but in reality, this female ghost didn’t even have a visible figure.
No figure, essentially like air, almost like a fart.
This talisman acted like a golden shield, preventing the female ghost from approaching him. So, there was nothing to be afraid of.
Lying on the sofa, Xia Leyang crossed his legs, playing with the small talisman in his hand. He felt increasingly that there was no need to be afraid.
Upon careful consideration, this female ghost had never harmed him. However, she was indeed annoying. Wanting to absorb yang energy, she insisted on using his body, causing him such a big loss.
The first time he was possessed, he was caught off guard, and there was no way to avoid it. But the second possession last night was simply a joke, all because he carelessly didn’t have the talisman on him.
!
If given the chance to travel back in time to last night, he absolutely, absolutely would not make the same mistake again.
Thinking about this, Xia Leyang went to the kitchen to find plastic wrap, carefully wrapping the talisman, then found a thin string and wore it around his neck. After that, he headed towards the second-floor bedroom.
By this time, the sun had already hidden behind the Loyi Mountain, and the evening glow had dyed the sky orange-red.
Shang Tingzhi happened to come out of the study and saw Xia Leyang walking confidently towards the second floor. He casually asked, “Going to take a shower?”
Previously, Xia Leyang used to shower before sunset every day. Although he didn’t say it out loud, Shang Tingzhi knew it was because Xia Leyang, being timid, was afraid of the dark.
Last night, because it was already dark when they returned from the hotel, coupled with Xia Leyang holding Li Shan’s talisman, he thought nothing unexpected would happen. However, just this one time, the female ghost found him.
“You mind your own business.” Xia Leyang threw out a sentence without looking back, took three quick steps, and closed Shang Tingzhi’s bedroom door with a snap.
Shang Tingzhi sighed helplessly, watching Xia Leyang, who was walking into his room as if he knew the place well, and surprisingly felt quite accustomed to it.
Evening always passed quickly. In less than twenty minutes, the orange-red sky had started to darken, and in the blink of an eye, night had fallen outside the window.
Seeing that it was about time, Xia Leyang clenched the talisman hanging on his chest and cautiously entered the bathroom in the darkness of the night.
The modern-style bathroom was covered with blue and white mosaic tiles. The sink had a double-basin structure, stretching left and right, creating a spacious environment. The mirror above the sink was correspondingly large.
Xia Leyang first timidly called out to the bathtub from the door, “Hey.”
There was no response from the other side of the bathtub. Xia Leyang, feeling a bit bolder, raised his voice, “Why aren’t you coming out?”
Unlike the bathroom fogged up during his previous showers, there was no movement in the bathroom air at this moment. If anyone saw Xia Leyang talking to the air, they would undoubtedly laugh at him.
After waiting for a while and seeing no changes in the bathroom, Xia Leyang couldn’t help but relax. He said somewhat dispiritedly, “If you don’t come out to scare me, what’s the point?”
Still, there was no reaction from the bathtub. Xia Leyang estimated that the talisman was on him, and the female ghost dared not come out to provoke him. So, he gave up the idea of teaching the female ghost a lesson face-to-face. Turning around to face the sink, he muttered to himself while brushing his teeth.
“I’ll tell you, girls should cherish themselves. Don’t suck people for no reason.”
“What’s so delicious about sucking people? It’s a foul smell.”
Thinking about this, Xia Leyang brought his teeth closer to the mirror, increased the force of brushing his teeth.
“If you die early, maybe you don’t know.” Xia Leyang brushed his teeth, slurring his words, “Girls nowadays are amazing. They don’t need a man to live.”
“If I were you, I would find that man, expose him. With a clear target, you can suck him dry without any worries.”
After saying this, Xia Leyang turned to spit out the foam into the sink. Then, holding a mouthful of water, he habitually tilted his head back, intending to gurgle a few times and clean his throat.
However, in the split second when he tilted his head back, he saw a white figure tightly pressed against his shoulder, wearing a white dress with bangs covering most of her face, standing behind him.
“But I don’t remember who he is.”
The woman’s mouth stiffly opened and closed, speaking in a creepy tone of Hong Kong-style Mandarin, accompanied by a chilling breeze rushing into Xia Leyang’s ears. He instantly felt his body hair stand on end, his heart rose to his throat, and blood surged to the top of his head.
In the moment before Xia Leyang passed out with his eyes turning black, a thought flashed through his mind—indeed, he had overestimated himself.
