Chapter 38

Snap.

Xu Zhiruo pressed Enter, and the computer screen instantly froze. Pointing at the vehicle on the screen, he said, “This is the last car that left the construction site yesterday.”

Xia Leyang recognized the car; it belonged to Zhang Wenlun. Yesterday, they all left together, one after another, and no one was carrying an urn when they departed.

Zhang Wenlun just happened to leave last. If the departure order had been different, the last car in the footage might have been Shang Tingzhi’s Bentley.

In other words, after they left yesterday, no one drove to the construction site of the No. 1 High School.

The situation in the suburbs is different from the city. Unless someone lives on Luoyi Mountain, it’s hard to imagine anyone moving from the city to Luoyi Mountain without any transportation.

However, if the workers at the site had stolen the urn, Liu Defa had already made them check each other with no unusual findings. Besides, the site had just started construction, and the urn was not found in the office or the materials storage area.

Moreover, these migrant workers are from other places and have no connection with the female ghost. If it was because of the taboo of living next to buried remains, they would have cleared all the urns, not just the female ghost’s urn.

“So ultimately,” Xia Leyang thought, frowning, “the motive is most important.”

“Exactly.” Xu Zhiruo leaned against the desk, arms crossed. “Who would be interested in the ashes of a woman who died nearly thirty years ago?”

Xia Leyang and Shang Tingzhi exchanged a glance and said in unison, “The murderer.”

Xu Zhiruo sighed, his expression complicated. “Now I have to believe that woman might have been murdered.”

“Could the murderer be Liu Defa?” Xia Leyang asked. “There weren’t many people at the scene yesterday, and Liu Defa is one of our suspects.”

Xu Zhiruo pressed the backspace key and pointed at the screen. “There was nothing unusual when he left yesterday, but he was indeed the first to arrive at the site this morning.”

“Then it must be him.” Xia Leyang’s eyes suddenly lit up as if he had finally found a breakthrough after much thought. “He pretended nothing was wrong yesterday and left with us, then sneaked back early this morning to take the urn.”

“But there’s not enough time.” Xu Zhiruo pulled up the footage from this morning. “He passed through this intersection, and Li Shan arrived just two minutes later. Shortly after, Zhang Wenlun and you arrived.”

When Xia Leyang and Shang Tingzhi arrived at the site this morning, Liu Defa, Zhang Wenlun, and Li Shan were already in the parking lot. Two minutes was not enough time to tamper with anything.

Their thoughts hit a dead end again. Xia Leyang slumped his shoulders and asked, “Then who else could it be?”

“You said Liu Defa is one of the suspects,” Xu Zhiruo said. “Who else do you suspect?”

“There’s also…” Xia Leyang suddenly remembered something and looked sharply at Shang Tingzhi. “Did Liu Defa call Zhou Runhua yesterday?”

Shang Tingzhi nodded slowly, also deep in thought. “Zhou Runhua’s site is also on Luoyi Mountain.”

Xia Leyang clapped his hands, his eyes lighting up again. “I get it. That mass grave is right next to the cemetery. Zhou Runhua is the cemetery owner. His suspicion is even greater than Liu Defa’s.”

“So yesterday, only you, Li Shan, Zhang Wenlun, Liu Defa, and Zhou Runhua knew about the incident.” Xu Zhiruo listed the suspects meticulously. “You and Li Shan can be ruled out, but how can we be sure it wasn’t Zhang Wenlun?”

“We identified the suspects based on their experience in Hong Kong.” Shang Tingzhi explained, “Liu Defa and Zhou Runhua both lived in Hong Kong in the early nineties, but Zhang Wenlun and his associates never did. I can confirm that.”

“So the suspects have two traits: having lived in Hong Kong and knowing the woman’s ashes were exhumed.” Xu Zhiruo summarized. “That leaves only Liu Defa and Zhou Runhua.”

“Liu Defa can be ruled out,” Shang Tingzhi analyzed. “He had no time to commit the crime, and his reaction suggests he didn’t know about the mass grave. Also, if he were the one who buried the female ghost, why would he lead people to dig up the grave knowing she was there?”

Xia Leyang nodded in agreement. “He wouldn’t create trouble for himself.”

Shang Tingzhi continued, “If it’s Zhou Runhua, everything makes sense. He’s in the cemetery business and understands burial customs. Moreover, if the mass grave were turned into a school, the female ghost’s ashes would never be found, which benefits him.”

“It seems Zhou Runhua is the only suspect.” Xu Zhiruo frowned. “I’ll check on his situation further.”

Merely a missing urn isn’t enough to overturn the original conclusion of suicide. Xu Zhiruo’s promise to investigate would only be an unofficial, personal favor.

Xia Leyang thanked him, but then Xu Zhiruo suddenly coughed awkwardly and asked out of the blue, “How’s your sister doing lately?”

“She’s doing fine, why do you ask?” replied Xia Leyang.

“I heard she has a new boyfriend.” Xu Zhiruo chuckled dryly. “I wonder when we’ll get to attend her wedding? Haha.”

Xia Tianshui, a well-known strong woman and modern-day rich lady in Ruicheng, always had young men around her. She changed boyfriends more frequently than she changed clothes. Recently, a gossip magazine reported that she was involved with a minor celebrity, which Xu Zhiruo had probably seen.

“She won’t settle down until she’s had her fun,” Xia Leyang shrugged. “Waiting for her wedding might take forever.”

“Yeah, that sounds like her.” Xu Zhiruo laughed awkwardly again.

After leaving the police station, Xia Leyang and Shang Tingzhi returned directly to the Gu Family Mansion.

Li Shan mentioned that the ghost’s tomb was designed to mirror the mansion’s structure to trap the ghost within the mansion. Now that the tomb’s structure was damaged, the ghost should be able to move freely.

Xia Leyang planned to take his ghostly sister for a ride after dark, but he couldn’t find her anywhere in the house.

This was the first time such a situation had occurred. The ghost might have snuck out on her own.

“Sigh.” Xia Leyang let out a long sigh and refreshed his email page again.

“Still no reply?” Shang Tingzhi asked.

Xia Leyang shook his head and tossed the laptop onto the couch.

After working all day in this hot weather, Xia Leyang felt sticky. He told Shang Tingzhi he was going to take a shower and headed to the second floor.

Soon after moving in, Xia Leyang had already claimed half of Shang Tingzhi’s wardrobe. He went to the bedroom to grab some fresh clothes, and that’s when he noticed something familiar in the closet.

It was a cardboard box.

If Xia Leyang remembered correctly, this box should have been in the trunk of the Bentley.

How did it end up in the closet?

Afraid of being mistaken, he opened the lid of the box and saw a whip and some bells—items Tang Fengyi had brought over that morning.

When returning home from the police station, Xia Leyang hadn’t entered the mansion with Shang Tingzhi. He had run upstairs to find his ghost sister and then searched the rooms, so he didn’t notice if Shang Tingzhi had brought anything inside.

That pervert.

Xia Leyang angrily picked up the box, intending to throw it out. But before he could take a step, curiosity made him put it down.

There was no one else in the bedroom. No one would know what he was doing.

This realization, like a little devil, tempted Xia Leyang to do things he normally wouldn’t dare or find convenient to do.

Shang Tingzhi was downstairs, and the ghost sister was nowhere to be found. He could take a look, and no one would ever know.

With that thought, Xia Leyang relaxed a bit. He pinched the furry cat tail with his thumb and forefinger, wondering if it could really be inserted.

According to his ghost sister, it should fit perfectly due to the body’s elasticity.

But Xia Leyang wasn’t convinced.

He was curious.

After some hesitation, Xia Leyang succumbed to the little devil’s temptation. He discreetly tucked the tail into his clean pajamas and headed to the bathroom with his clothes.

The lukewarm shower washed away the sweat. When he turned off the shower, he felt refreshed.

Quickly drying himself off with a towel, Xia Leyang hesitantly took out the cat tail from his pajamas.

The bedroom outside was quiet, confirming that Shang Tingzhi hadn’t come upstairs.

He was just going to test it, see if his ghost sister was right, and then put the tail back in the box. No one would know.

Swallowing nervously, Xia Leyang examined the tapered end of the tail.

Should he insert it directly or prepare with his fingers first?

Uncertain, he tried inserting it directly but couldn’t push it in. So, he raised one leg onto the sink and tentatively inserted his middle finger into his own entrance.

Such a strange feeling.

Despite being alone, Xia Leyang was overwhelmed with an indescribable sense of shame. Especially since there was a mirror right in front of him, he could see just how lewd he looked.

After inserting half of his middle finger, he rotated it around to stretch the outer folds. Just as his ghostly sister had said, it was very soft there and loosened up quickly.

What would his ghostly sister think if she knew he was doing this in the bathroom?

The thought made Xia Leyang’s face flush red with embarrassment. He quickly withdrew his finger, but as soon as he did, a tingling current of pleasure shot through his body, nearly making his legs give way and causing him to lean on the sink for support.

His heart pounded as he recalled the peculiar sensation.

Maybe he should try again?

He quickly reassured himself that his ghostly sister wasn’t in the house, so she wouldn’t know he was doing something like this.

As for Shang Tingzhi, he didn’t have invisibility or x-ray vision, so he wouldn’t know either.

This time, Xia Leyang tried inserting the plug directly. It went in much more smoothly, the tapered plug sliding in until it was fully seated.

He turned to look in the mirror and saw the furry tail hanging between his smooth, white buttocks. It was incredibly erotic.

Blushing with embarrassment, Xia Leyang grabbed the cat tail to pull it out. However, the base of the plug seemed to be stuck in the folds, and no matter how he pulled, it wouldn’t come out.

Moreover, pulling on the plug caused its tip to press against a certain spot, making his body feel even stranger.

“Mm…”

Xia Leyang couldn’t help but moan. He quickly bit his lower lip, trying to ignore the pleasure from below, desperately wanting to remove the tail.

But the more anxious he became, the tighter his body clenched. He couldn’t use brute force, so he ended up sweating profusely in the bathroom.

After about ten minutes, Xia Leyang gave up.

Despondent, he wrapped himself in a towel and awkwardly walked to the stair railing outside the bedroom, tearfully calling down, “Shang Tingzhi, c-can you come up here?”

Shang Tingzhi was chatting with an elder, inquiring about Zhou Runhua. Hearing Xia Leyang’s call, he put away his phone and walked to the atrium, looking up and asking, “What’s wrong?”

“Just come up!” Xia Leyang was on the verge of tears. “I-I can’t get it out.”

“Can’t get what out?” Shang Tingzhi asked as he ascended the stairs.

“This.” When Shang Tingzhi reached the second-floor landing, Xia Leyang turned around, lifted a corner of his towel, and exposed the cat tail hanging between his legs. “I-I can’t get the tail out.”

Shang Tingzhi was momentarily stunned, then his eyes darkened. He walked behind Xia Leyang, one hand on his waist and the other gently tugging the tail, asking, “Why do you have a tail?”

“Ah…” Xia Leyang couldn’t help but moan again. He turned his head to glare at Shang Tingzhi, complaining, “Stop moving it.”

“How am I supposed to get it out if I don’t move it?” Shang Tingzhi whispered in his ear, then tugged the tail back and forth a bit.

“You!” Xia Leyang bit his lower lip to stifle his moans, his eyes welling up as if tears were about to fall.

Shang Tingzhi’s Adam’s apple bobbed as he lifted Xia Leyang, saying in a deep voice, “To the bed.”

Xia Leyang was lifted off the ground, the tail hanging between his legs. He wrapped his arms around Shang Tingzhi’s neck, nervously instructing, “We’re just going to the bed to take out the tail. Don’t do anything weird to me.”

Shang Tingzhi chuckled softly, asking, “What could be weirder than you having a tail?”

Knowing he had brought this upon himself, Xia Leyang buried his face in Shang Tingzhi’s chest without saying a word.

Shang Tingzhi tossed Xia Leyang onto the bed, removed the obstructing towel, and lifted his legs into an M shape.

With his lower body completely exposed, Xia Leyang frantically asked, “What are you doing?”

“Relax.” Shang Tingzhi’s large hand kneaded the small, firm buttocks, making Xia Leyang’s already aroused little member stand fully erect.

“D-don’t touch me like that!” Xia Leyang shyly turned his face towards the nightstand, and to his surprise, Shang Tingzhi suddenly took him into his mouth.

The sensitive shaft was enveloped by the warm mouth, while the tail was pulled in and out, stimulating a sensitive spot. Xia Leyang gasped and nearly fainted from pleasure.

“It feels so good…” Xia Leyang’s hands rested on Shang Tingzhi’s forearm, letting the large hand freely tease his nipples.

The pleasure in his chest, the pleasure in his genitals, and the pleasure in his small hole converged into waves of ecstasy, giving him unprecedented stimulation. He didn’t even notice when the anal plug was replaced by fingers.

Fingers were much more agile than a plug. The index and middle fingers stirred inside him, quickly finding the shortcut to climax.

“Ah… what is that… feels so good…”

Xia Leyang was so overwhelmed with pleasure that his brain was muddled, and he could barely speak. His legs were draped over Shang Tingzhi’s broad back, and his slick lower body squirmed restlessly.

“Uh… I can’t take it anymore… I’m going to cum…”

“Flower… uh… brother… I’m going to die…”

Shang Tingzhi felt Xia Leyang starting to convulse, clearly on the brink of climax. He quickened the pace of his finger movements, while also sucking hard on Xia Leyang’s small member. When he pinched Xia Leyang’s nipple, the small thing in his mouth twitched a few times before releasing a hot stream down his throat.

Xia Leyang was so overwhelmed with pleasure that his vision blurred, his lips slightly parted. When Shang Tingzhi leaned in to kiss him, he instinctively wrapped his arms around Shang Tingzhi’s neck, their tongues entwining.

After a long while, Shang Tingzhi finally released the dazed Xia Leyang. He wiped the drool from Xia Leyang’s lips with his thumb and asked, “Did you enjoy it?”

It was only then that Xia Leyang’s vision began to focus. He looked at Shang Tingzhi with a blissed-out expression and nodded dumbly.

“Do you want more?” Shang Tingzhi asked in a hoarse voice.

“Yes,” Xia Leyang whispered honestly.

Shang Tingzhi grasped Xia Leyang’s wrist and guided his hand to the swollen member. “Let me put it in you.”

Xia Leyang blinked his watery eyes, his brain suddenly snapping into gear. He quickly pulled his hand back, shaking his head frantically and pleading, “No.”

Shang Tingzhi raised an eyebrow and, without a word, got out of bed.

Xia Leyang quickly sat up and asked, “Where are you going?”

“To shower,” Shang Tingzhi replied naturally, taking clothes from the wardrobe and heading to the bathroom.

Xia Leyang sat alone on the big bed, wanting Shang Tingzhi to come back and hold him, but also fearing that “monster.”

He knew Shang Tingzhi wouldn’t be so considerate to just please him. If he didn’t compromise, the pleasurable sixty-nine sessions would be out of his reach in the future.
