Chapter 33

This entry is part 33 of 46 in the series Married in a Flash After One Night

At two in the morning, Luo Xiao and Wen Ran had bathed, embraced, and slept together. They woke up chatting.

They were perfectly in sync—living freely, no constraints. Hungry? Skip meals. Woke at 2 AM? Chat. Not sleepy? Don’t sleep.

As they talked, ding-dong, the wireless doorbell rang.

Who’s there at this hour?

Luo Xiao got up, donned a white robe. Wen Ran, legs bare under the air-conditioned blanket, guessed: “Maybe Shang Ge and the others.”

“I told them Luo Feng was the eldest son of the richest family. They didn’t message me later, probably just reacting now, coming over.”

Luo Xiao tied the robe belt and went downstairs: “Don’t mention ‘eldest son’ in front of Ms. Ju, or she’ll ask my dad if there’s a secondary son outside.”

Wen Ran laughed: “Promise I won’t say a word.”

Luo Xiao went to the first floor, saw no one outside, then to the lower level.

Door opened—nothing. Looking down, he saw a crowd kneeling at the entrance, all the same people from before.

Luo Xiao: “……?”
Everyone: “……”

Eyebrows raised, Luo Xiao asked: “Such a grand gesture?”

Awkwardly, they stood and patted their knees—they’d forgotten Wen Ran wasn’t single.

“Where’s Wen Ran?”

Luo Xiao pointed upstairs: “Third-floor bedroom.”

Once everyone was inside and the door closed:

“Sorry to disturb?”

Not knowing Luo Xiao well, they feigned politeness.

“No disturbance, we weren’t sleeping anyway.”

Luo Xiao stifled a laugh.

“Not sleeping?”

The group, seeing Luo Xiao in a bathrobe, assumed they’d interrupted an intimate moment.

“I’ll call Wen Ran,” Luo Xiao said, going upstairs.

As he left, they whispered:
“Damn, they can’t be—”
“Wen Ran’s life is lucky, Daddy’s chest is huge.”
“Not just chest.”
“How do you know?”
“Wen Ran said at the last single night party.”

They hurried upstairs, Shang Ge leading: “Form a line to welcome the Eldest Son’s Wife.”

Form a line?

Of course—

Wen Ran came downstairs, Luo Xiao in front. They were met by a full hall of kneeling people.

Some unfamiliar with Luo Xiao: “……”
Luo Xiao: “……?”

Wen Ran calmly descended the stairs, saying: “Alright, rise.”

“Not that you just married the second eldest son of Asia’s richest family.”

“I’m wealthy, but I’ll definitely not forget.”

Leading the kneeling group at the front, Shang Ge said: “Words aren’t enough—prove it with money.”

Wen Ran held up his phone and tapped: “Alright, I’ll send you a red envelope in the group.”

The crowd: “…?”

“Red envelope only goes up to 200, sir.”

Someone in the group shouted in Hong Kong accent: “You got some nerve!”
“Some nerve indeed.”

Wen Ran: “Got it. We’ll treat you to a meal.”
“Fancy meal, over a thousand per person.”

At this, Luo Xiao calmly added: “And each of you gets the latest iPhone plus an iPad.”

The crowd: “!!!”

Everyone immediately scrambled up:
“Too late, we’re leaving—won’t disturb you anymore.”
“Congrats! We’ll definitely gift big at the wedding banquet.”
“Wen Ran, your husband is so handsome!”

The group quickly filed downstairs.

Luo Xiao laughed so hard he leaned on the stair railing, bending from stifling it.

“Walk us out,” someone said.

Shang Ge and Lu Wenwen each took an arm of Wen Ran, walking down together.

As they descended, Shang Ge whispered: “Damn! Do you know how much Brother Luo Feng’s bank balance is?!”
“Over 6 billion!”
“Ten, hundred, thousand… we counted each digit!”
“Scared me to death!”
“First time in life seeing this much money!”
“I couldn’t even input it into a calculator!”

Lu Wenwen added: “My livestream lasted only 20 minutes, and Brother Luo Feng was already recognized.”
“Now they’re saying he dumped that actress and is with me!”
“I’m a lesbian—can you imagine my frustration?!”

Shang Ge asked: “Have you ever seen Daddy’s bank balance?”
Lu Wenwen looked at Wen Ran as well.

Wen Ran blinked: “Never seen it.”
“Let’s see it!”
Shang Ge and Lu Wenwen said in unison.

Shang Ge: “Count the digits. Once you see it, you’ll understand why we knocked on your door at 2 a.m.”

Wen Ran recalled something: “Hold back those mischievous ones, don’t let them—”
“Too late,” they said together.

Shang Ge reminded: “Remember, Mumu was there during the day.”
Lu Wenwen: “After we finished ‘Rich and Noble, Never Forget,’ Mumu shyly asked Brother Luo Feng for WeChat. He’s really ambitious, wants to avoid detours in life.”

Wen Ran: “…almost forgot Mumu was here.”
“Did Luo Feng give it?”
“Yes.”
Shang Ge: “Do you think only Mumu wants to avoid life detours? None of us do either.”
“Brother Luo Feng pulled out his phone, scanned the WeChat QR code, and we all added him.”
Mumu added he’s planning a spa and acid whitening for his butt, and she’s debating whether to join.

Lu Wenwen sighed: “Damn, I’m a lesbian, yet with a guy like Brother Luo Feng around, I almost feel straight again.”

Wen Ran: “…………”

The group truly was all a little crazy.

Wen Ran laughed, nodding while walking: “Alright, go get your acid treatments, go straight, maybe you’ll end up chasing the eldest…”

Suddenly, Lu Wenwen and Shang Ge grabbed Wen Ran:
One said: “I want Pro Max, 2TB, Orange.”
The other: “Pro is fine, 2TB, Black.”

Wen Ran: “Got it~”
“Make a list of models, Luo Xiao and I will hit the Apple store.”
“Love you!”
In unison again.

The group, considering the Apple honor, quickly disappeared.

Wen Ran went upstairs; Luo Xiao leaned on the stair railing, laughing so hard his face turned red.

“Is it that funny?” Wen Ran asked.
“Not really… mainly never seen Asia’s richest man.”

“And during the livestream, your brother appeared—really okay?”
“Wenwen said they’re now spreading your brother dumped the actress and is with me. She’s a lesbian. Will this affect him or the company?”

Luo Xiao shook his head, still laughing: “Don’t worry. If anything serious happens, I’d have received the call.”

Wen Ran cuddled into Luo Xiao’s broad chest: “Shall we go up? Where were we?”

Luo Xiao bent down, kissed Wen Ran, forehead and breath pressed against hers:
“Your friends are so interesting.”
“And you’re especially adorable.”
“Now I know why you’re so cute.”
“Because you have such an amusing group of friends.”
“Don’t you think we’re crazy?”

Wen Ran touched foreheads with him: “My mom always says our group is a little wild.”
“Interesting, not wild,” Luo Xiao said.
“Crazy? I’ll be crazy with you.”
“From now on, just the two of us, together.”
“You’re too good.”

Wen Ran smiled, pressing closer.

Back in bed, Luo Xiao took a black card from his bedside wallet, pulled up his phone, and showed Wen Ran: “I have a main card with some money. We’ll use it together.”

Wen Ran saw the numbers—his eyes widened. He counted: “One, ten, hundred, thousand, ten thousand…”

Over 200 million.

Shocked.

And this was actual cash in the card, not deposits or investments.

“Over 200 million?!”

“Shang Ge said your brother has over 6 billion.”
“You have 200 million.”
“So our parents… how much would they have?”

Luo Xiao thought: “I really don’t know.”
“Doesn’t matter.”

He handed the card to Wen Ran: “Keep it. If you want to buy something, swipe. No worries. No daily limit.”

Wen Ran, like a little hamster, took it.
Blinking brightly: “What if I spend too much…”

Luo Xiao laughed: “Spend what, two hundred million?”
“Spend it if you do. Though if you overspend, maybe don’t use this card.”

He handed another card, a credit card with no limit.

“Also for me?” Wen Ran took it slowly.

Luo Xiao kissed him, lowering his voice: “Buy whatever you want.”

Wen Ran thought of art and paintings he wanted, previously too broke from living and helping friends and animals.

Luo Xiao: “Whatever you want, go ahead.”

Wen Ran smiled, kissed him, acting cute: “Thank you, husband~”

Luo Xiao, clearly smitten, leaned in: “Wanna play?”
Wen Ran whispered back: “Yes~”

They played, teasing with the cards, enjoying their wealth and each other.

Afterward, Wen Ran, exhausted, murmured: “I get it now… being a golden canary isn’t easy.”

Luo Xiao kept pace, returned the three cards: “Hold them. Be my golden canary forever.”

“Hubby~~” Wen Ran hummed.

Luo Xiao kissed him: “Good wife.”
