Chapter 132

This entry is part 132 of 205 in the series Mermaid’s Fall

After two hundred seventy years of life, Lan Bo woke up in a human omega dormitory for the first time. It was a shared room; a few beds had been added for the IOA trainees participating in the exchange program.

He was woken by the 5 a.m. assembly whistle. Rubbing his eyes, he sat up on the hard wooden bed, body awake but mind still foggy, staring at the tip of his tail.

A hedgehog omega approached, gently shaking him awake. “The team leader blew the whistle. If you don’t get your things and go, he’ll come in and beat you.”

Lu Yan, sleeping on the bed beside Lan Bo, had been pampered but had grown used to this training schedule on Aphid Island, so he didn’t resist much. Seeing the hedgehog approach Lan Bo, his rabbit ears perked up in alarm. “Oh my god, don’t touch him! He’s… waking up… angry…”

By then, Lan Bo had grabbed the hedgehog by the neck and lifted him in front of his face. His deep blue eyes glimmered, voice low:

“Noliya bigi, nowa weiky siren.” (Rude humans have no right to wake a siren.)

He released high-level pheromones, filling the entire room with the oppressive scent of white thorn roses.

“A…a3…?” The hedgehog curled up immediately, spines erect, stabbing Lan Bo’s hand.

“Ahhh.” Lan Bo tossed the spiny ball aside, blowing on his hand. It fell onto his tail, pricking him and bouncing him against the bed, then sticking to the iron window frame. To make matters worse, the exposed heating pipe scorched his tail. Lan Bo yelped in pain, flinging his tail, which gradually shifted from blue to angry red.

Lu Yan and Xiao Xun hurried over, pulling the furious Lan Bo off the wall. Others hadn’t witnessed his anger before—if he lost control, the entire building might be destroyed.

All omegas in the room looked on, oppressed by the high-level pheromones. The lower-level omegas could barely stand.

“Brother, enough, enough,” Lu Yan murmured, hugging Lan Bo’s waist, pulling him back. Ying and Little Clown Fish coaxed him as well.

Being held softly by the little rabbit, Lan Bo’s tail returned to its blue hue, calming him.

“Hen,” Lan Bo snorted dismissively, planning to forgive these immature omegas.

However, the commotion drew the team leader’s attention.

They stayed in the PBB Kraken unit’s dorm, under its management. The whale shark captain kicked open the door: “Look at the time! Are you trying to get punished later?”

He met Lan Bo’s gaze and felt a stir in his chest. What a coincidence—the beautiful mermaid was an IOA exchange trainee. This could be interesting.

He deliberately wore a stern expression, approached Lan Bo, and released M2-level oppressive pheromones. Pointing at the messy bed, he demanded, “Why isn’t your bed made according to regulations?”

Lan Bo lazily raised an eyelid. “I’ve never made a bed, don’t know how.”

The captain knew Lan Bo’s strength; he had seen it in M Port. Powerful individuals tend to be arrogant, and even as an exchange student, this attitude was too much. He needed to discipline him.

“Stop staring, all of you outside for assembly!” The captain shouted, letting the other omegas leave, then addressed Lan Bo directly: “You stay.”

The IOA omegas reluctantly followed the crowd, frequently glancing back at Lan Bo.

“IOA has no rules, I know. Watch carefully—I’ll teach you how to make a bed.” The captain unfolded the thin blanket on Lan Bo’s bed and expertly folded it into a neat rectangle.

“Learned?” the captain asked.

Lan Bo sat on the bed, elbow on the railing, glancing lazily. The oppressive pheromones had no effect this time, unlike usual.

“Fold it ten times as I just taught you.”

Lan Bo tilted his head, leaning on the bed railing, eyebrows raised: “Kid, your parents gave you precious life—not to come die in front of me.”

The captain froze, unsure how to respond.

Suddenly, an electric hum rang in his ears. A nearly terrifying pressure descended from above. The intense fragrance of white thorn roses assaulted his glands. His legs weakened, barely holding onto the bed.

“A3… third-stage differentiation…” The captain clutched his burning organs, sensing yet another layer of oppressive power.

This force wasn’t just from A3-level glands—it included species suppression.

Even at the top of aquatic-type glands, the captain knew very few could exert species-level suppression over him, especially from an omega.

“You’re still young,” Lan Bo said, picking up the blanket and handing it to the captain. “Fold it properly; I’m going to assembly.”

He crawled along the steel-frame building quickly. Being late for the first training session—Xiao Bai would not be happy.

Fortunately, the vice-team leader, Sea Anemone, was doing roll call when they arrived. Lan Bo noticed the climate was dry and near zero degrees. To train easily, the members wore thin clothing, shivering in the cold, but Lan Bo found the temperature just right.

Last night, Bai Chunian didn’t rest in the dormitory. After arriving at the military base, they spent the night discussing how to house and train the experimental subjects.

Before the prison operation, PBB had already prepared facilities for receiving the experimental subjects, but Bai Chunian was more familiar with them. For safety, Major Xia wanted to hear Bai Chunian’s suggestions.

Captain Whale Shark knocked on the door, and the major looked up. “What is it?”

Unable to speak directly, Whale Shark called Bai Chunian out.

“What’s the matter, Captain Wei?” Bai Chunian leaned against the wall, hands in his pockets.

Wei Lan, an alpha and captain of the PBB Kraken unit, was responsible for the exchange training program.

“You have a trainee named Lan Bo, a mermaid omega, right?”

“Ah, yes. He’s one of my students.”

“He didn’t tidy his bedding today. He didn’t fold his blanket either, so I did it for him.”

Seeing Wei Lan storming over, Bai Chunian relaxed, thinking perhaps Lan Bo had sunk someone’s warship. “Oh, no need to worry. Just confiscate his blanket; he doesn’t need to cover himself.”

Wei Lan grumbled, “I’m not kidding. The other omegas’ beds aren’t much better, and everyone uses these flashy towels and toothbrushes—does that look organized to you? Is that how you train your students at IOA?”

Bai Chunian blinked. “What’s the big deal? Bright colors make it look nice, don’t they?”

Wei Lan’s frustration boiled over. He rubbed his face, his back aching under Lan Bo’s high-level pheromones, and argued, “They’re still young. If you don’t enforce discipline now, bad habits will stick. You’re doing them a disservice. Tch—good thing you’re here for the exchange, or I wouldn’t even know IOA has such problems.”

“All right, don’t be mad, Captain Wei. I’ll handle it later,” Bai Chunian said, flicking a cigarette at him with a smirk.

Wei Lan looked at the cheap eight-yuan cigarette and rubbed his temples in disbelief, seeing no lesson had been learned.

“One more thing before I go,” Bai Chunian said, stabilizing Wei Lan as he placed the unlit cigarette between his lips. “Regarding training experimental subjects, my advice is simple: subdue them. They only obey the strong; that’s their default programming. The students need me for a moment—Wei, let’s go check on them.”

Major Xia watched Bai Chunian’s confident departure with interest. He coughed diplomatically. “I’ve dealt with him before. IOA people are like this—hard to discipline, unlike us.”

Xia Jingtian set aside the documents, smiling. “Let him handle it. Dismissed.”

Bai Chunian followed the Whale Shark alpha to the training ground. As soon as he stood before the students, Lan Bo flicked the tip of his tail, raising his chin toward the assistant instructor. “You’re just in time. Sea Anemone is training me now.”

The Sea Anemone alpha, Feng Lang, had short, stiff reddish-brown hair. He was handsome, but his posture was narrow.

After greeting the assistant instructors, Bai Chunian approached Lan Bo. “What’s he training you on?”

“Making me stand up straight,” Lan Bo sneered.

Bai Chunian chuckled.

“If you’d been a minute later, he’d have made me unable to stand straight forever,” Lan Bo whispered, curling his tail tip around Bai Chunian’s ankle, slithering upward. “Why are you laughing?”

“Nothing… I just think you’re cute.” Bai Chunian pressed his hand over the tail tip, now dangerously close to sensitive areas, while keeping a calm exterior.

“If you tease me, I’ll make you embarrassed in front of everyone,” Lan Bo murmured, blue eyes narrowed. “Will they think you’re an alpha letting your lust loose on students? I like it either way.”

Bai Chunian always carried a small, sharp blade in his hand. Outwardly, it looked like his hands were in his pockets, but he used the blade to discreetly slice the pocket lining and trap Lan Bo’s tail tip in his fingers, gently stroking it.

The tail tip was highly sensitive. Lan Bo’s body trembled slightly, the blue tail showing faint pink iridescence. He bit his lip to suppress a sound.

“Come on,” Bai Chunian whispered, unafraid, “let me see you lose control.”

Lan Bo clenched his teeth, staring directly into Bai Chunian’s eyes, trying to endure the teasing sensation.

“I’m glad. Only I can tame you,” Bai Chunian murmured, entwining the tail around his wrist, feeling the pulse. “Do you feel it? You excite me.”

Even a pulse caused extreme sensitivity. Lan Bo nearly couldn’t bear it, secretly trying to retract the tail tip, whispering a warning: “Wait until tonight.”

“I’ll wait for you to teach me,” Bai Chunian said, eyes curved with delight. “Now, stand straight, tuck your hips, let your hands fall naturally, middle finger along the tail’s central line, chin slightly down, eyes forward. Don’t look at me.”
