Autumn Tournament.
It was five in the afternoon when the gates opened, and the staff were stunned at the huge crowd pressing forward.
These people were usually lazy and sluggish at matches—why were they so eager today?
As he wondered, the lines on both sides suddenly erupted in excitement.
“It’s her! It really is her!”
“Ohhh! They’re here! Brothers, did you see that? I told you it was worth coming!”
The staff instinctively glanced over as well.
In the distance, a girl dressed simply yet elegantly, her face bright with a smile, led a group of other girls. Each had carefully applied makeup, each distinct in style—so dazzling it was almost overwhelming.
Yuan Miaomiao noticed all the stares and gave a small smile, holding up a light board marked “BZ.”
“BZ, charge!”
Soon, as the match was about to begin, a couple strolled over hand in hand.
“This is it. Mr. Yin gave me tickets. You like them, right? Let’s watch the match live.”
“Mr. Yin is really thoughtful. You’ll have to work extra hard for him in the future.”
“Of course, everything the lady says.”
The man in front, dressed unusually casually but still exuding an elite air—this could only be Lawyer Gao.
The staff checked their tickets and let them in, thinking to himself: probably the last of the spectators, right?
Just as he thought that, two young men came sprinting up.
“Phew! Made it just in time!”
The younger of the two, panting, pulled out his tickets.
“Totally my fault for remembering the time wrong! But we made it! Senior, let’s go in.”
“Okay, but aren’t you tired? Wipe your sweat.”
The slightly older boy handed him a tissue to dab his forehead.
Lin Yuhan showed his teeth in a bright grin.
“Thanks, senior.”
The senior feigned casualness. “Nothing. But you haven’t thanked me yet for letting you watch the finals.”
After sending them off, the staff waited another five minutes.
Now, surely no one else would come?
Ten minutes later, just as he was about to leave, two distinct pairs of footsteps echoed. He instinctively stopped and looked up.
Two men, about 1.9 meters tall, strolled over hand in hand, chatting.
The slimmer man wore a scarf, handed over his ticket, and nodded slightly to the staff.
“Thanks for your hard work.”
The other man nodded too.
The staff blinked, returning a polite smile. Then the two men continued inside, chatting intimately.
They looked… very much in love.
Modern men really could be this sweet in relationships?
The staff watched them walk away, then glanced at the ticket in his hand. He froze—this wasn’t just any ticket; it was an internal VIP pass.
Once seated, Yin Chen lazily leaned on Zong Cheng’s shoulder.
“Support me a bit, my waist aches.”
“…Okay.”
Zong Cheng obediently held his hand around him.
He hesitated, wanting to speak but holding back. Yin Chen glanced at him, lips curling.
“Not happy?”
Zong Cheng’s expression froze, quickly shaking his head in a shy, “No, I’m not.”
Absolutely not! It was all Yin Chen’s imagination.
Yin Chen chuckled lightly, nibbling his earlobe.
“Sure, the ache is my own doing, but you get to enjoy the comfort—this isn’t unfair to you, right?”
Not unfair! Absolutely not! He even wanted more!
Zong Cheng cleared his throat and began massaging Yin Chen’s lower back.
“…Think this helps?”
“Pfft.”
Yin Chen laughed, collapsing into his embrace. Could this guy be any more timid? Every day he pushed his limits.
Still… he reached out to brush a few times over his pectorals, feeling amused.
Seems like he genuinely liked Zhi Cheng? Next time, maybe tie the tie properly first.
“—Dear audience, entering the venue now are the Autumn Tournament finals teams! This season’s final has no suspense: last season’s champion and runner-up have both made it! Let’s welcome DCC and BZ!”
On stage, the commentator’s excited voice carried.
DCC’s players hesitated but were nudged forward.
The DCC fans in the stands suddenly yelled:
“DCC, don’t chicken out! Beat BZ!”
DCC’s players were startled. An uneasy feeling rose.
Sure enough, BZ fans responded immediately.
Yuan Miaomiao led the charge, putting on her light board:
“BZ, go! Take down DCC—you’re the best!”
DCC’s fans got a taste of being schooled today—those unable to resist beauty shouldn’t even call themselves fans. They shouted back, “DCC is the best!!”
Yuan Miaomiao frowned and waved her hand.
Her beauties followed, lights on their heads, hands forming megaphones:
“BZ BZ, you’re the best! DCC’s nothing!”
Madam Gao was stunned.
Lawyer Gao laughed, holding her hand. “Feels like when we debated back in the day?”
Madam Gao snapped out of it. “You were way sharper back then, not this gentle.”
Gao feigned ignorance. “Really? I thought I was always gentle with you.”
She laughed silently, giving his shin a discreet nudge.
“…They’re so affectionate.”
The senior behind them glanced at Lin Yuhan.
“Yeah, really enviable. But the match is amazing too. BZ’s youngest official member—you saw him? He’s my landlord. Really great guy.”
The senior looked, curious about the landlord Lin Yuhan always mentioned.
The camera flashed past, and he squinted. This landlord—so pale and slim?
He instinctively glanced at Lin Yuhan again, then back at the screen.
The camera lingered on Tang Chen and Zhang Taining. The senior noticed their feet intertwined.
He leaned closer to Lin Yuhan, whispering his discovery.
“Their feet are touching~”
“Really?”
Lin Yuhan’s expression screamed, “Whoa, so exciting!”
He checked their distance, satisfied. Time to work on shortening it even more!
On the field, DCC and BZ entered the third-to-last toxic zone. Only six teams remained as the circle shrank!
DCC and BZ stepped into the outer circle, colliding with two other teams.
Zhuo Fan’s headshot eliminated a lone wolf team instantly!
DCC’s ace sniper also took a kill!
Zhang Taining and Tang Chen, under San Yue’s command, engaged enemies head-on!
Enemies returned fire from cover, two molotovs dropped unexpectedly!
DCC did the same, wiping out the teams ahead.
In the final circle, both DCC and BZ lost three members to the toxic zone and battles, leaving only the team leaders alive.
BZ’s position was low; DCC had the high ground advantage.
The commentator was about to lament BZ’s luck, echoing last season, when San Yue suddenly moved.
“San Yue’s taking action! Dangerous position! He has a jeep as cover, but DCC must’ve already spotted his location—what will he do?”
Tang Chen tensed, gripping Zhang Taining’s thigh.
“Not sure what San Yue will do!”
Zhang Taining expressionless. He silently reached under Tang Chen’s hand and grasped it.
Tang Chen froze, then mirrored the grip.
Zhang Taining was learning fast.
“Whoa! San Yue is charging? He tossed three smokes! Even with DCC on the high ground, they can’t locate him immediately. They’ve used all their throwables; the only way is to spot him from the high ground… He switched to sniper! Did he find San Yue’s position? Ohhh! San Yue’s sniper! DCC’s captain is headshot! Victory belongs to BZ!”
The commentator pounded the table, excitement written across his face.
“San Yue feigned exposure, tricking DCC’s captain into revealing himself! Incredible risk! Let’s congratulate BZ on winning the Autumn Tournament!”
Yuan Miaomiao screamed at the top of her lungs.
“AHHH! BZ is the best! San Yue, you rock!”
San Yue looked up and waved to her.
Zhang Taining seized the moment to kiss Tang Chen’s hand, voice thrilled.
“So, about that promise—since we won, can I officially meet your mom now?”
Tang Chen snorted.
“Luck with the captain, that’s all. Sure, you can meet her, but warning: I might want to hit someone.”
Zhang Taining shook his head, grinning.
“I’ve arranged through Xie to hire a lawyer; she’ll just receive my monthly allowance and can’t interfere.”
“Good.”
They exchanged a glance, hands secretly tightening.
“I suddenly feel cold. How about we take a few days off and soak in a hot spring?”
Yin Chen twirled Zong Cheng’s tie, whispered in his ear, adding a few secret words.
Zong Cheng’s ears turned red. What could he say? He could only nod, even pondering whether to give Assistant Zhong a raise—for overtime, it would be up to Assistant Zhong.
Meanwhile, Assistant Ah Mao and Assistant Zhong sneezed almost in unison.
Ah Mao wiped, then quietly pulled out his phone.
“Weather’s chilly lately. How about we ask Assistant Zhong out for a drink?”
