Chapter- Extra

This entry is part 105 of 105 in the series The Substitute Bride: A Mute Boy Cherished by a Disabled Tycoon

Magical conception, don’t take it seriously. Just casual daily life, writing whatever pops into mind—exit if it bothers you.

Life stretches endlessly, joys and sorrows ever-present, yet a few moments remain unforgettable. For Li Jichuan and Su Pu, one such moment was the birth of their first son.

Tiny, wrinkled, slightly ugly… yet one glance was enough to seal their resolve: to love him, to give him unwavering support and respect, to raise him in an environment overflowing with love.

Li Jichuan’s eyes glistened, gaze fixed on Su Pu. With the child’s birth, a scar appeared on Su Pu’s belly—a mark he thought unsightly, but Li Jichuan saw as a beautiful rift of life.

Su Pu himself was breathtaking, almost divine in the way Li Jichuan saw him.

Their son, surnamed Su, was named by Li Jichuan—Yuxing (意行)—signifying “to write one’s life and flow freely.” Yet at home, everyone preferred his nickname, Little Raindrop.

“Little Raindrop” nourishes life, falls into the river, and meets his two fathers—such a romantic name that the couple loved.

Little Raindrop was calm by nature; as Ouyang put it, “he’s been a little adult since birth.” But that was only the facade. At home, he loved to be spoiled, clinging to Su Pu, puffing out his plump little bottom while wielding a toy sword, insisting on “dueling” Daddy for bedtime cuddles.

Li Jichuan wasn’t one to shy from a challenge. “Alright, feel the adult world.”

Little Raindrop fell behind, landing on the play mat. The golden evening sunlight filled the living room. Daddy’s silhouette was imposing, almost invincible. Little Raindrop’s tiny world collapsed silently.

He didn’t cry at first, just pouted, fiddling with the sword handle. Only three years old, it was natural he couldn’t lift it like Daddy.

“Someday, at four or four and a half, I’ll beat Daddy for sure!”

The little demon.

Li Jichuan retired to the sofa after winning, opening his laptop but sneaking glances at his son. Dressed in overalls, plopping on the floor, he looked like a sentient rice dumpling—chubby cheeks soft as dandelions, the world’s softest face.

Maybe Li Jichuan had been a little harsh. He was just a child, his plump little hands smaller than his own fingers. Why insist on winning?

“Cough…” Li Jichuan cleared his throat, feeling guilty, ready to concede the bedtime cuddle.

Then, Su Pu returned home.

Little Raindrop’s voice rang out first:
“Daddy! Daaaaddy! You hit me!”

His tiny legs wrapped around Su Pu as he cried. Tears fell onto Su Pu’s pants.

“Hey, you’re cheating!”

Li Jichuan chased after them, speechless.

Little Raindrop clung to Su Pu, reenacting the “hit” with a tiny fist: “Bang bang!”

Li Jichuan teased, “If I hit you, you’d have two big bumps on your head.” He ruffled his son’s hair; indeed, no bumps—Daddy’s touch didn’t hurt.

Still, Little Raindrop wanted to sleep with Daddy. He covered his chest.

Li Jichuan raised an eyebrow, teasing, “What, did I poke your chest?”

Little Raindrop pouted. “Daddy, you hit me, I’m sad…”

Hearing this, Su Pu softened, scooping him up and patting his back gently.

“No sadness, Daddy didn’t mean it…”

Little Raindrop kissed his father. “Okay, but hitting isn’t right.”

“Then Daddy apologizes on behalf of Daddy…” Su Pu’s voice held infinite patience and gentleness.

Li Jichuan fell behind. The situation was settled—he lost the bedtime cuddle. Probably better than being bopped a few times!

That night, Li Jichuan slept alone in the guest room, leaving the big bed to his wife and ancestor. The company stabilized; major decisions required him only occasionally, leaving him more time to watch Yuxing grow.

Yet this little rascal still challenged him for Daddy’s attention! Su Pu’s career kept him busy, and his scent—a mix of coffee, sunshine, and orange blossom—was irresistible, like sinking into a thick quilt.

Li Jichuan thought a man chasing his dreams, like Su Pu, deserved admiration and love from the world.

As Su Pu tiptoed in, Li Jichuan instinctively turned off his tablet, removed his glasses, eyes slightly dreamy yet sparkling with surprise.

“Rebellion? Not siding with that little rascal anymore?”

Su Pu smiled. His skin tanned from traveling between Yun City and southern Yunnan, lean and fit, the muscles defined over his bones.

He hopped onto the soft bed, carrying a fresh shower scent mingled with a faint fragrance. Li Jichuan once thought it was Su Pu’s natural scent—it was later revealed to be Little Raindrop’s kids’ lotion, sweet and floral.

Drawn together, they exchanged a lingering kiss before any words.

“No more hitting your son.”

The wall echoed with the earlier thwacks. At this point, Li Jichuan agreed to everything—later discussions could wait.

“Then stay tonight,” he teased. “That way I won’t have energy to bop him, right?”

Su Pu clenched his jaw, staying silent—Little Raindrop slept next door.

That night, Little Raindrop dreamed of growing up, effortlessly swinging his toy sword and defeating Daddy. The bangs and thwacks continued all night…

Though this dream would probably never come true.

The next morning, Little Raindrop woke up in his soft, warm bed and found both of his daddies sleeping beside him.

They faced him, arms entwined—a solid fortress guarding him as he grew into a big raindrop, ready to travel farther, nourishing more mountains and rivers.

It was funny, though—usually the three of them slept together, yet Daddy always suggested sleeping separately, and every time he ended up losing—but he still loved it.

Daddy might be a little clumsy, but he and his other daddy were both smart.

So it didn’t matter if Daddy was a bit silly.

They were family, after all.

And today, Little Su Raindrop was working hard too, guarding this home with all his heart!
