Chapter 116

Huo Youqiao said, “Apart from my father, who has military clearance, no one else knows.”

Only then did Ye Zhi realize that this was an incredible secret, and he became nervous. “Then why did you tell me?”

Huo Youqiao replied, “I wanted to tell you, no particular reason.”

Before Huo Ran finished her bath, they shared a kiss.

It was as if a magnetic field pulled them together. Whenever their eyes met, there was a tingling sensation, a heart full of fluttering emotions, yearning to touch each other, even knowing it was a forbidden act.

Every stolen glance when they couldn’t be close was a hard restraint, but when in the same room, they couldn’t help but draw near.

Their lips and tongues moved gently yet urgently, intertwining and tasting each other. When they finally pulled apart, both were breathless, Ye Zhi even showing signs of arousal.

Huo Youqiao was aroused too, his lower body visibly bulging, creating a noticeable outline.

Hearing the water stop, knowing Huo Ran was about to come out, they hastily separated, each turning their heads, taking deep breaths, trying to regain their composure before she came out.

Ye Zhi was the first to recover. When Huo Ran emerged, he greeted her with a smile, helped her into her pajamas, and washed her hair. After blow-drying her hair and putting her to bed, he and Huo Youqiao left the room together. At the door, their fingers brushed, and Huo Youqiao leaned in, whispering in his ear, “Confess to him when we’re on Blue Star.”

Ye Zhi froze, realizing what he meant after a moment.

But before he could respond, Huo Youqiao had already walked away.

The trip was planned for two weeks later, with six people going, making it a family vacation. Three days after Huo Ran’s birthday, Madam Huo went back to her husband. She wanted to leave the cook and maid behind, but Huo Youqiao declined.

“You’re used to her cooking and being taken care of by her. Let them stay with you. We can manage, and if needed, I’ll hire someone.”

Madam Huo insisted, “You should hire more help. Such a big house can’t be cleaned properly by just machines. Xiao Ye married into our family and saved Ah Cheng; he deserves a life of luxury. Having him do housework every day isn’t right. People would think we’re stingy and harsh.”

Ye Zhi quickly said, “It’s okay, I like doing housework.” He truly did. He wasn’t lazy and enjoyed cooking, especially when Huo Ran was happy eating his food, which gave him a sense of fulfillment.

“Regardless, you shouldn’t be treated poorly. You should ask Ah Cheng for a baby soon, so our home will be livelier. And remember Ranran’s birthday wish; even I am looking forward to it.”

After sending Madam Huo off, the house became quiet again. Everyone returned to their routines of work and school. With little housework to do, Ye Zhi picked up his old professional books, aiming to earn more certifications during this time.

He knew he would eventually return to work. Even if he disliked socializing, as a man, he couldn’t stay cooped up at home forever.

During this period, Huo Youcheng was also busy, leaving early and coming home late, sometimes not at all. Ye Zhi didn’t question his whereabouts, and Huo Youcheng reassured him, “I promise I’m just busy with work, absolutely not messing around.”

He spoke earnestly, with a gentle smile, reminiscent of when Ye Zhi first met him. This filled Ye Zhi with complex feelings.

He didn’t love him anymore and wanted a divorce.

The thought of divorce had been in Ye Zhi’s mind for years, even before he fell for Huo Youqiao. He wanted to escape the painful marriage. But it wasn’t up to him alone. Huo Youcheng’s strong personality made a smooth divorce unlikely.

Would it be different this time?

Ye Zhi was anxious.

“I have a surprise for you,” Huo Youcheng said, leaning closer with a smile. “Looking forward to it?”

Ye Zhi forced a smile, “Yes.”
