Chapter 22

This entry is part 22 of 160 in the series When a Man Becomes the Villain

With Jian Feishuo’s consent secured, Fan Qing quickly began cleaning up the mess online.

He also had another source of help.

Jin Yi, Second Young Master (v): “LOL! A bunch of people squabbling online over what? I just wanted to have dinner with our little brother, what’s wrong with that? These days, even eating with someone you know gets twisted into a shady deal? Some people’s minds are way too filthy.”

PS: Shady deals? LOL. Did you even check who Jian Feishuo’s little brother is before making wild assumptions? If anyone were trying to curry favor, it would actually be me, not him. Anyway, tagging the family here for clarity @YangYang Real Estate @Jian Feishuo

Who was Jin Yi, Second Young Master?

Some fans were still confused, but others quickly realized who he’d tagged.

“OMG! Jin Yi, Second Young Master? Isn’t he… the new CEO from that entertainment company? And YangYang Real Estate, that’s Jian Feishuo’s family business. So… Jian Feiyang is their little prince?”

“?? I was offline for just three minutes and already missed something? What’s going on?”

“Wait, so the Second Young Master is a famous rich heir, and he hangs out with Jian Feiyang? And tagged YangYang Real Estate’s Jian Feishuo? WHAT? My little angel has this kind of status? How am I supposed to call him my husband now?”

“The girls upstairs are trying to kill me with laughter… My husband! Husband! Husband! Husband! Can you hear me? Your family’s so rich, I should be okay being a worthless wife, right?”

“Wait, let me sort this out—Jian Feiyang is the heir to YangYang Real Estate? And he used to share an agent with Nie Luo? No wonder he’s always stood out!”

“Ah, but then why change agents? Wouldn’t having Nie Luo’s old agent be much better than the new assistant?”

Before fans could continue speculating, Jian Feiyang posted a new Weibo.

Jian Feiyang (v): “Hi Second Young Master! …And hi, Big Brother. And hello, fans! Fan Qing is my good brother; he felt I wasn’t suited for acting and recommended me for a variety show instead. Please don’t say bad things about him. He’s really a good person! (Sent secretly from a phone—hurry and check the post before Ah Qing notices! I’ll delete it soon!)”

Fans read the post and froze.

Then they all covered their mouths, screaming.

“Wait—hold on! He literally stole a phone to post for his agent? This is so cute!”

“I… I can’t even handle this. I knew he was sweet on the show, but this? TOO SWEET! My god, I’m about to marry him. Big brother! Big brother! How about this little sister-in-law?”

“Shut up, you shameless lot! That’s my husband! sob sob sob, he’s just too cute and his body is perfect. Look at this screenshot! Full frontal view—he’s mine!”

Jian Feiyang, holding the phone, froze, then panicked a little.

Jian Feiyang (v): “No, no, you’re missing the point! The focus is, Ah Qing really treats me well! He even helped me get this variety show opportunity. He’s not at all like they said. The person in the photo is him, really!”

He anxiously reposted the original photo and even added a few more.

Jian Feiyang (v): “Look! Ah Qing isn’t ugly at all. Here are some photos of him training with me, check them out!”

The photos had all been taken unintentionally by Jian Feiyang.

One showed Fan Qing lifting his shirt to wipe sweat, revealing a smooth, toned abdomen glistening with tiny beads of sweat. Though no pronounced abs, the flat belly was fair and delicate. His slight arch and tucked posture made his whole body seem to glow.

His eyes glanced toward the camera, clearly noticing the picture being taken, yet he didn’t look annoyed.

A trace of affection shone in that gaze—enough to ensnare anyone who looked.

Fans were giggling, but upon seeing the red annotations and the photos, they were stunned.

“…Wait—is that Fan Qing???”

A moment of silence, then a second wave of screaming erupted.

“Oh my god! Who misled us with those random photos before? I already thought the guy at the dinner had incredible aura… And this is Fan Qing???”

“Ahhhh—Fan Qing training is so hot! I mean the new husband Fan Qing! Old husband, don’t be mad, the new husband’s training pose is just too—agh! Exploding on the spot!”

“Damn it—stupid editor, stupid editor, stupid editor! You mean to tell me that sleazy guy is him??? Those eyes don’t need to exist—please donate them to someone in need, thank you! Isn’t that… my new husband!? Husband, come over so I can kiss you!”

“Whoa—so hot! Sisters, I’m literally burning! But wait… he’s going to be an agent? Isn’t that a little too much of a waste?”

“I’m done talking, entering sage mode. I’m spent, leaving the rest of the fun to the other sisters.”

“? Please, the person above, put your pants on! I tripped over them in this comment and can’t move!”

Many of Jian Feiyang’s fans were die-hard fans of good looks.

Seeing this photo of Fan Qing, they shared it rapidly among fellow enthusiasts under the guise of “showing off my new husband.”

The photo spread like wildfire, immediately giving a resounding slap to the editor who had previously circulated unflattering images of Fan Qing.

Then, careful fans noticed: Jian Feiyang’s post had been deleted!

“! Oh no, they noticed! Hahahahaha, why am I laughing so loudly?!”

“I can’t stop laughing! The two secret posts were also deleted, lol—so he really did sneakily post it without the agent knowing?”

“LOL, picturing a little dog sneaking around and getting caught in the act—I’m literally dying laughing here!”

“He’s really too cute, I love him so much!”

“But, sisters, I just realized something. Our little cutie really isn’t a great actor, I’ve watched multiple clips—those NGs weren’t targeted at him. So… why did his old agent push him into acting? Why did he only start blowing up on variety shows after switching agents, even getting involved in all the backlash himself? I don’t want to think about it, but… it’s terrifying when you think about it closely.”

Fan Qing finished reading this aloud and switched to a secondary account. By his ear, Jian Feiyang was apologizing.

“I was wrong… I shouldn’t have used Ah Qing’s phone to post Weibo.”
“I was wrong… I shouldn’t have used Ah Qing’s phone…”
“I was wrong…”

“Forget it.”

Fan Qing stood and ruffled the head of this occasionally clever little guy.

“I’ll let it slide since it’s your first offense—but don’t do it again.”

Jian Feiyang’s eyes lit up.

“Ah Qing is the best, after all!”

Fan Qing chuckled.

Was he really that great? Not really—he was just paying back a kindness.

After Fan Qing posted that carefully guided comment, many fans and onlookers felt a shiver run down their spines.

Some smart ones even linked the backlash Jian Feiyang and Fan Qing had received with the previous rumors about Fan Qing and Nie Luo.

The more they thought about it, the more stunned they became.

“Wow… this drama is giving me a sense that there’s a huge hidden twist. Am I the only one feeling this?”

“You’re not alone.”
“You’re not human.”
“But I think… this might be connected to Nie Luo and his agent…”
“Shh! Don’t say anything yet. If there’s more drama, it’ll blow up later. For now, let’s just stay quiet—it’s just a small storm before the big one…”
“Agreed. I’ll just focus on shipping little cutie Jian Feiyang. I thought I misjudged him this time… but no—so sweet, so cute, and he’s a rich heir!”

Some couldn’t help but comment, laughing.

“By the way, hasn’t anyone noticed something?”
“What? Did I miss something else, sisters?”
“Not a big deal… just the dinner photo. Those four young people from the entertainment industry, dining in that garden pavilion… doesn’t something seem off?”

A strange silence fell over the comment section.

“Ah… this…”
“Ah… this…”
“Ah, Watson, your blind spot…”

A long line of replies formed under that comment, and the likes skyrocketed.

Soon, a reply came from Jin Yi, Second Young Master:

“??? You people have a problem with the dinner I arranged? This is the old man’s prized garden! Isn’t a formal place like this for hosting friends? You think you know everything—!”

Fans: “???”
“Is he serious?”
“Is he serious?”
“Is he… actually serious, hahaha!”

Fan Qing looked at how his carefully planned scheme had unexpectedly twisted in this bizarre way and couldn’t help but facepalm.

Really… what should he even say?

But, fortunately, it worked out.

Fan Qing smiled faintly at Jin Yi’s post, humming a little tune to himself.

Since the plan had been inadvertently revealed, it was now a perfect setup to leverage Nie Luo’s side.
