Chapter 13

The young girl is very beautiful, with soft and tender skin, big watery eyes, simply adorable.

Fan Xing likes her very much, and for a moment, he didn’t pay attention to whether the address was correct or not. He held her little face and said lovingly, “So cute! How old are you, Xin Xin?”

The little girl obviously liked this good-looking big brother. “I’m five years old, and I’m already in kindergarten. How about you, big brother? How old are you?”

The little girl didn’t seem to think there was anything wrong with calling him “big brother”; it rolled off her tongue naturally.

But it was not proper after all, and Lin Lin corrected her with a smile. “Xin Xin, you can’t call him big brother.”

The little girl was puzzled, pouting and asking, “Why not? Big brother looks even younger than Ning gege. Why can’t I call him big brother?” Suddenly, she seemed to realize something and nodded seriously. “I understand, do I have to call him little brother because he’s younger than me?”

Then the little girl happily grabbed Fan Xing’s hand and jumped up, her tender face blossoming with a smile. “I’m so happy, I’ve always wanted a little brother!”

The innocent words of the little girl made everyone burst into laughter, and they didn’t bother to correct the address.

It was He Qingmo who suddenly said seriously to Xin Xin, “He’s older than you, so call him big brother.”

The little girl looked disappointed. “Oh? I thought I had a little brother. It’s still big brother?”

“Well, be a good girl and call him big brother, and big brother will give you a gift.” He Qingmo teased her.

Although Xin Xin was speaking to He Qingmo, Fan Xing felt a bit embarrassed.

He didn’t know there was a child in the house before he came, so he couldn’t have prepared things for a child.

He Qingmo, on the other hand, was well-prepared. Since it was Fan Xing’s first visit, he couldn’t just accept gifts without giving any in return. So he had his assistant prepare gifts for everyone in the house, and they had all been moved in by now.

He put down Xin Xin and gestured for her to go and find which gift was for her.

Children love this kind of game, so she ran over and searched frantically, finally finding her favorite gift in an exquisite gift box. She ran to Fan Xing, happily kissed his cheek, and sweetly said, “Thank you, big brother, I love this the most.”

Fan Xing hadn’t had a chance to speak yet when He Qingchen, who had been silent all along, had a pained expression on his face. He picked up his daughter and said, “Xin Xin, how many times have I told you not to kiss people casually? You’re a young lady, you should be modest!”

The little girl is five years old. Since when does she know what modesty is? Moreover, He Qingchen is not that conservative of a person, right? He’s just like every other father, unable to stand his daughter getting close to the opposite sex.

The He family members knew this, so no one paid attention to him. It was He Qing’an, the dignified eldest brother, who asked He Qingmo, “Isn’t it confusing to call her like this in terms of generations?”

He Qingmo: “It’s not confusing. Anyway, Fan Xing also calls me ‘uncle,’ so isn’t it just right for Xin Xin to call him ‘big brother’?”

Ah?

The surprised gazes immediately shifted back and forth between the two parties’ faces, and then they seemed to understand. Especially Lin Lin, who had a teasing smile on her face as if to say, “You young people really know how to have fun.” Fan Xing felt embarrassed and somewhat inexplicably shy, as if calling He Qingmo “uncle” was something extremely embarrassing. The key was that he hadn’t called He Qingmo “uncle” before.

He couldn’t help but give He Qingmo a resentful look, feeling that this man really held grudges. It was just that he had nervously called him “big… big brother” the first time, and he had already explained it, but this guy hadn’t forgotten it.

He Qingmo, of course, didn’t miss his actions, but instead of feeling petty, he raised an eyebrow at Fan Xing, looking smug as if to say, “I do hold grudges. So, what are you going to do about it?”

Fan Xing sighed helplessly in his heart, feeling a bit speechless.

At this point, the butler had come to invite them to the dining table, and everyone got up to head to the dining room.

Lin Lin and her sister-in-law Susan walked at the back, chatting and gossiping.

“Sister-in-law, did you notice? Why do I feel like our third brother isn’t just playing around? Did you see how they were flirting just now? My eyes almost went blind.”

Susan, who was much calmer than Lin Lin, couldn’t resist a bit of gossip herself. “It does look interesting. But who knows if our third brother is just putting on a show for our parents?”

“No!” Lin Lin said confidently, “Based on my keen intuition, our third brother is definitely not acting. Sister-in-law, you’ve been here longer than me. Have you ever seen our third brother getting this close to anyone? He couldn’t bear to let go of Xin Xin’s little hand. I just touched Fan Xing’s face, and look how anxious he was. If our Xin Xin were a bit older, say around ten, and she went up and hugged Fan Xing and gave him a kiss, third brother would be even more nervous than Xin Xin’s father. Trust me, third brother is not ordinary to Fan Xing!”
