Chapter 70

“What’s wrong?” He Qingmo found it strange that Fan Xing sat down so anxiously but didn’t touch his chopsticks.

Fan Xing shook his head, “Nothing.” With that, he picked up a piece of vegetable with his chopsticks and put it in his mouth. It was the most appetizing dish on the table for him.

But after forcing himself to eat it, he felt nauseous, so he quickly dropped his chopsticks and covered his mouth as he rushed to the bathroom.

He Qingmo immediately followed him and saw him vomiting violently, though there was nothing in his stomach to vomit, just acidic fluids.

He Qingmo gently patted his back to help him feel better, his brows furrowed in deep concern.

Suddenly feeling dizzy in the morning and now vomiting like this, what was going on?

Fan Xing was also puzzled. Although he occasionally had minor stomach issues, it was usually due to not eating for too long. But this time, it happened so suddenly.

He Qingmo was worried, so he insisted on calling Dr. Zhang.

Dr. Zhang, as efficient as ever, arrived quickly. However, after a simple examination, he didn’t draw any conclusions. Instead, he asked Fan Xing, “Did you feel dizzy during the day today?”

Fan Xing nodded, “Probably because I didn’t sleep well.”

Dr. Zhang continued, “Have you been sleeping poorly these past few days?”

Fan Xing was about to nod instinctively but then hesitated for a moment, sounding puzzled, “Not really. I did sleep less during the exams, but I slept quite a bit before the break. I woke up early this morning, but I also slept for about six or seven hours last night.”

The more Fan Xing spoke, the more he felt strange. Normally, if he got enough sleep at night, he wouldn’t feel so tired during the day. But today, he fell asleep as soon as he got into bed in the afternoon, and slept for the whole afternoon.

Dr. Zhang furrowed his brows, seeming to encounter a dilemma.

He Qingmo, already concerned, couldn’t help but ask, “What’s the situation?”

Dr. Zhang hesitated a bit before saying, “I suggest going to the hospital for a detailed examination.”

“What do you mean?” He Qingmo held Fan Xing’s hand tighter, his tone unexpectedly tense.

Fan Xing gently patted his hand, smiling reassuringly, “Brother, don’t worry. I think Dr. Zhang just can’t draw a definite conclusion from the current symptoms. It doesn’t mean I have some serious illness.”

Dr. Zhang nodded, “That’s right. It shouldn’t be a big problem, but I need further confirmation.”

“Okay, let’s go now.” He Qingmo helped Fan Xing up and they left for the hospital.

The hospital was nearby, just a ten-minute drive away. After arriving, Dr. Zhang arranged for Fan Xing to undergo some basic examinations before taking his blood for testing in the lab.

Fan Xing and He Qingmo waited outside, with He Qingmo’s expression remaining serious, and he kept holding onto Fan Xing’s hand.

Fan Xing rarely saw this side of him, and he felt sweet in his heart. Even though his hand hurt from being squeezed, he didn’t try to pull away, instead softly talking to him to distract him.

Dr. Zhang quickly came out of the lab. Although his expression didn’t reveal much, his tone carried a hint of joy, “Good news, you’re four weeks pregnant.” He handed them the test results to see.

Both of them were stunned, staring blankly at Dr. Zhang as if they were dumbfounded.

Dr. Zhang was usually very serious and didn’t smile easily, but seeing their reaction, he couldn’t help but chuckle. He couldn’t help it, who would’ve thought he’d see He Qingmo look so foolish?

“Don’t be so surprised. Although it’s not common for men to get pregnant, it’s not unheard of either. Factors like physical condition and timing of conception are crucial. The probability is low, but not nonexistent. Obviously, you guys hit the jackpot.” Dr. Zhang chuckled before patiently explaining to them.

Fan Xing snapped out of his sudden shock faster than He Qingmo did. He cautiously reached out to take the test report and flipped through it, but nothing registered in his mind.

His mind was blank, all his thoughts focused on the word “pregnant.”

Pregnant? He… was pregnant?

He was a genuine man, yet he could actually get pregnant?

Well, he did know that some men could get pregnant, but it was still a minority, and the probability was very low. He never thought he’d be that lucky to beat the odds.

How could this be?

He Qingmo was even more shocked. He wasn’t studying medicine, nor had he paid attention to this kind of information. In his understanding, how could men get pregnant?

If men could get pregnant, knowing his sexual orientation, his parents wouldn’t have insisted on arranging blind dates for him for so many years, trying to match him with women, all for the sake of having grandchildren.

So upon suddenly learning that Fan Xing was pregnant, he didn’t react at first.

It took him a while to recover from the shock, and then a wave of joy surged from the bottom of his heart, unstoppable.

“Really?” He rarely showed such an expression in public. From the corners of his mouth to the depths of his eyes, there was an uncontainable smile. How could he still be the cool and aloof male god he usually was? He was simply exuding an ecstatic silliness.

“It’s true. The fetus is healthy at the moment, but since it’s still early in the pregnancy, and male pregnancies are special, there are more things to pay attention to. I’ll send you a detailed plan for a healthy pregnancy later via email. Follow it, and there shouldn’t be any major problems,” Dr. Zhang said.

“Okay, okay. What about now? Do we need to do any more tests?” He Qingmo asked eagerly.

“Not for now. Just ensure adequate sleep and nutrition intake,” Dr. Zhang replied.

He Qingmo listened attentively, as if he had pen and paper in hand to jot down every word. Then he remembered something and asked, “So, does he vomit every time he eats now? Is there no other solution?”

Dr. Zhang shook his head, “During pregnancy, we don’t advocate the use of medication, so early pregnancy symptoms like morning sickness usually have to be overcome on their own. You can try changing different dishes and flavors to cater to his appetite.”

He Qingmo nodded, “Got it. We’ll leave now. We’ll call you if there’s anything.” With that, he lifted Fan Xing in his arms, “Be good, don’t move around, don’t hurt our son.”

Fan Xing was startled and struggled to get up, “Hey, this is a hospital, you can’t…”

“Behave, don’t move around, be careful not to hurt my son.”

Fan Xing finally snapped out of his daze from the word “pregnancy” and was instantly sucked into another whirlwind. A son? A son? Why couldn’t it be a daughter? Could it also be a daughter?

Various combinations of chromosomes inexplicably popped into his mind, and for a moment, he forgot that he was being held by He Qingmo in a public place.

Fortunately, there weren’t many people in the hospital at night, so nobody saw them.

After getting in the car, He Qingmo immediately called Song Yang. Before Song Yang could even speak, he received an order, “Get all eight chefs from the major cuisines here and ready to work tomorrow.”

After saying that, He Qingmo hung up without giving Song Yang any chance to express his surprise.

Fan Xing’s mind was still in a whirlwind, and he didn’t pay attention to what He Qingmo was saying. After getting in the car, he leaned against the window and blanked out. Along the way, He Qingmo reached over to touch his belly several times, but he didn’t notice.

He Qingmo didn’t disturb him, mainly because he himself still felt like he was dreaming.

Since discovering his sexual orientation, he never thought he would have children in the future, at most, he would adopt one.

He never dreamed that within a year, he would meet someone he genuinely liked and would soon have their child.

Thinking that there was his child in Fan Xing’s belly, he couldn’t help but smile foolishly, his silly expression no better than Fan Xing’s.

Fan Xing’s symptoms only slightly improved after returning home. He nestled on the sofa, stroking his flat belly, looking at He Qingmo, his voice soft and puzzled, “Brother, do I really… have a baby in my belly?”

Just now, He Qingmo was still trying to restrain himself outside, but now he no longer needed to hold back. He leaned in, pinched Fan Xing’s chin, and kissed his lips, gently and tenderly, not deep, just lingering on his lips.

Fan Xing couldn’t help but open his mouth to accept, but He Qingmo evaded, teasing Fan Xing to chase after him.

It was a tender kiss without **, not as intense as He Qingmo’s usual style, but at this moment, he just wanted to do it, just wanted to kiss his lover.

After the playful kiss ended, He Qingmo gently embraced Fan Xing, his big hands lightly stroking his abdomen through his clothes, his voice gentle and moving, “Darling, thank you.”

Fan Xing was slightly stunned, and then his cheeks couldn’t help but blush.

He Qingmo only called him like this in bed, so suddenly calling him like this without any warning made him feel embarrassed.

However, the man’s gentle and solemn tone made him understand that he was really pregnant, not dreaming!

How to describe this feeling? It was too unexpected, a bit hard to accept.

But when he calmed down and thought about it carefully, he was pregnant, with He Qingmo’s child. He felt inexplicably happy deep down. It was their child, the child of the person he liked.

He buried his head in the man’s chest and couldn’t help but smile happily.

Although it was unexpected, it was a beautiful surprise, wasn’t it?

It was beautiful, so beautiful that He Qingmo didn’t want to do anything now, just wanted to hold him and not let go. But Fan Xing couldn’t help it; he was hungry!

Although he felt nauseous at the sight of food at night and even vomited a lot, he still felt hungry.

So, nestled in the man’s arms, he rubbed against him. Unable to resist, he raised his head, looking pitifully at He Qingmo, “I’m so hungry, I want to eat something.”

He Qingmo quickly let go of him, but then turned around in place, somewhat at a loss. Then he suddenly picked up his phone to call Song Yang.

It was the first time Fan Xing had seen him so nervous, which he found amusing, but he promptly snatched the phone away, “No need to trouble yourself. I’ll just cook noodles for myself.” With that, he got up to go to the kitchen.

He Qingmo hurriedly stopped him, “Sit still, I’ll do it.” Then he pressed him onto the sofa and went to the kitchen himself.

Fan Xing was speechless. He Qingmo was treating him like he was a pregnant woman. He was practically treating him like a disabled person!

But he didn’t say anything. After all, this news was too explosive, and He Qingmo might not be able to return to normal for a while.

Anyway, He Qingmo could do simple things now, so there was no problem with him cooking.

He Qingmo was quite quick. A bowl of vegetable and egg noodles was soon served on the table. Seeing him about to come over and hug him, Fan Xing hurriedly put on his shoes and ran over first. As a result, he was glared at by He Qingmo and then felt him patting his belly several times, making him suspect that he was taking advantage.

But he was hungry and didn’t want to argue. He gently pushed away the man’s hand and sat down to eat.

However, when faced with the white noodles, he lost his appetite again. He picked up his chopsticks and picked a few strands, barely putting them in his mouth, but he couldn’t swallow them at all.

Seeing this, He Qingmo’s eyes filled with worry. He asked softly, “Don’t want to eat this? Let me make something else. What do you want to eat?”

Fan Xing shook his head. He didn’t really know what he wanted to eat. He just felt hungry, but if he had to think about it, everything made him nauseous.

He had never realized how much pregnant women suffered.

However, he didn’t want He Qingmo to worry, so he got up and went to the kitchen to open the fridge, trying to find something that would whet his appetite.

Then a box of vibrant red kimchi caught his eye, and his mouth couldn’t help but start salivating.

He was surprised himself. His dietary habits were inclined towards sweet flavors, rarely spicy, and he couldn’t eat spicy food at all. The heavy-flavored things in the fridge were basically what He Qingmo ate.

But now he was attracted by a box of kimchi, and eating it with kimchi didn’t make him nauseous after finishing a bowl of noodles.

He now believed that pregnant women’s tastes would change. But it was also good; at least he knew what to eat without feeling sick.
