“We’re here. Get out of the car.”
The hover car stopped in front of a two-story building. Lian Yucheng opened the door and signaled for Lian Qiguang to get out.
“Brother!”
With a cheerful cry, a light pink figure darted out from the courtyard and quickly hugged Lian Yucheng.
“Why did you come out? Go back inside!” Lian Yucheng frowned slightly, his tone carrying a hint of anger.
After getting out of the car, Lian Qiguang looked at the girl in pink. She looked about eleven or twelve years old. He mentally concluded that she should be his so-called younger sister, Lian Xiaozhu.
According to the light brain records, this younger sister had poor health, seemingly a heart condition.
Sensing his gaze, Lian Xiaozhu looked up at him, then shrank back in fear and quickly hid behind Lian Yucheng, like a mouse seeing a cat.
Lian Qiguang’s mouth twitched slightly. Expressionless, he stuffed his hands into his pockets and walked toward the house.
Seeing his back, Lian Yucheng frowned.
“Brother… I didn’t go pick up second brother. Is he angry at me?” Lian Xiaozhu tugged at Lian Yucheng’s sleeve nervously.
“No.” Lian Yucheng patted her head gently, his eyes softening. “Your second brother… he was injured. He forgot a lot of things. You need to help him more…”
Bang!!
A loud crash interrupted him.
Lian Yucheng’s brows tightened immediately. He quickly walked toward the sound.
Only to see Lian Qiguang standing straight at the front door, hands still calmly in his pockets, one foot firmly planted on the tightly shut door.
His expression hadn’t changed at all.
“You again… what are you doing!” Lian Yucheng’s face darkened as he saw neighbors opening windows to look over.
“The door wouldn’t open.”
Lian Qiguang was pulled back by Lian Yucheng, yet he still looked calmly at the door he had kicked. Despite the force, it remained completely intact—no dent, no mark.
His eyes flashed with thought.
In the past, he often forgot his keys, so he was used to kicking doors open. Because of that, his previous room door had to be replaced twice a week. At first, neighbors even thought it was a surprise attack and rushed out without putting on pants.
Because of his frequent “door-kicking incidents,” he was reported many times. The Young Prince often scolded him. Later, he stopped caring and even assigned him a repairman.
But here… the door was much harder than before.
Looks like he needed a new method.
“You…” Lian Yucheng’s expression cracked slightly.
Holding back the urge to throw him out, he stepped forward and pressed his right hand onto a nearby device.
Beep. Beep.
A red scan swept across his body.
Click.
The door opened.
“Go in!!”
“Oh.”
Lian Qiguang walked in without pressure.
The moment he entered—
“Welcome back, Young Master!”
A man in black suddenly appeared in front of him.
Lian Qiguang’s eyes sharpened instantly. Without hesitation, he kicked.
“Don’t—!”
Lian Yucheng turned around just in time to see it—but it was too late.
Bang!
The man was sent flying in a clean arc through the air, crashing heavily onto the ground.
Twitch. Twitch.
The man rolled his eyes and stopped moving.
Lian Xiaozhu’s mouth formed a perfect “O.”
“Lian Qiguang!!!”
Lian Yucheng’s roar shook the entire house.
“I thought it was a surprise attack.”
Lian Qiguang calmly adjusted his collar.
“You… you…” Lian Yucheng held his throbbing forehead.
“You stay right there. Don’t move!!”
“Okay.”
He obediently walked over and sat down.
“Xiaozhu, watch him.”
“Okay!” Lian Xiaozhu nodded seriously and sat across from him, staring intently.
Lian Yucheng went upstairs to calm down.
Lian Qiguang casually rested his feet on the table and surveyed the room as if the girl opposite didn’t exist.
Time passed.
“Th… third brother… here, here’s water for you.”
Lian Xiaozhu pushed a cup toward him nervously.
He glanced at it, then at her.
“You’re afraid of me.”
Not a question. A statement.
“Ah?!” She panicked even more.
Lian Qiguang twitched his mouth slightly and ignored her, idly spinning the cup in his hand.
To outsiders, he looked like a delinquent.
But on him, it carried an inexplicable natural pressure.
Lian Xiaozhu secretly observed him.
Something about her second brother felt… different. She couldn’t explain it.
Lian Yucheng came downstairs with a dark face. When he saw Lian Qiguang’s feet still on the table, his expression turned even darker.
“Put your feet down!”
Lian Qiguang calmly complied—barely.
Lian Xiaozhu ran over again.
“Brother, I’m hungry.”
Lian Yucheng’s anger eased slightly.
“The cooking robot is broken. I’ll fix it tomorrow. You’ll have to drink nutrient solution today.”
“It’s okay, brother.” She smiled brightly.
At the words “nutrient solution,” Lian Qiguang’s expression finally changed.
He had been stuck in the hospital drinking that stuff for so long—its taste alone was enough to make him reject life.
Back in the apocalypse, he could eat compressed rations and drink filtered water for months without complaint. That was still better than this.
“I’m not hungry. You two eat.”
He stood up and walked toward a room.
“Stop right there!”
“I’m tired.”
He turned back seriously.
Lian Yucheng said nothing.
Lian Xiaozhu tilted her head.
“Second brother, why are you going into my room?”
