Chapter 4

This entry is part 5 of 21 in the series Major General! Your Wife Is Pregnant!

In the bathroom, Lian Qiguang looked at himself in the mirror, his brows tightly furrowed into a knot.

The youth reflected there was about 170 cm tall, slender in build, his pale skin carrying a faint sickly tone. Light chestnut hair fell softly against his slender neck, slightly messy bangs covering a pair of beautiful black eyes.

His slightly upturned brows carried a faint, almost demonic charm. His glass-like, luminous eyes and long eyelashes made him look as if tears might fall from the corners of his eyes at any moment, making people want to reach out and catch them.

Add to that a small nose and slightly red lips—he was a textbook example of a “heart-stealing beauty.”

In anyone else’s eyes, this would be a devastatingly beautiful face.

But to Lian Qiguang, it clearly screamed something else:

“I’m delicious. I’m weak. Come eat me.”

A total waste of a body.

The face itself was excellent, but the original owner had always kept his head down, gloomy and withdrawn, like someone owed him the world. No wonder no one liked him.

If he could just act normal, he wouldn’t have to worry about not catching that so-called “prince charming.”

Lian Qiguang blinked.

His eyes turned slightly innocent.

That expression alone made people want to pounce on him.

Then he curved his lips into a faint smile.

The innocent, almost elf-like face instantly turned dangerously alluring—beautiful, yet poisonous.

His face darkened.

Completely darkened.

He pushed back his bangs, revealing those sharp black eyes again.

When he met his own reflection’s “soft and innocent” gaze, irritation surged through him.

His aura exploded outward.

In an instant, his gaze deepened into an abyss-like black.

Cold, endless, and filled with a hidden bloodstained killing intent.

In that moment, his entire presence changed.

From a fragile youth to something that felt like it had crawled out of a sea of corpses and blood.

A creature from hell itself.

Satisfactory.

He relaxed.

The oppressive aura faded, and he returned to his usual expressionless state.

After leaving the bathroom, he returned to his room and collapsed heavily onto the bed, sinking into a blanket made of unknown material.

He turned off the light.

Immediately, the room transformed.

A vast ocean appeared—endless blue waters stretching in every direction. Colorful coral swayed with the waves, strange schools of fish drifting past his eyes.

It was as if he was truly submerged in the sea.

But Lian Qiguang did not relax.

The abnormal change in this space made him uneasy.

He possessed a space.

And it was his greatest secret.

No one knew—neither his brother, nor even the Young Prince he once followed.

He obtained it during a mission to clear a small town. He had been betrayed and surrounded by thousands of zombies inside an antique shop. He had already been injured and infected.

Just as he thought he would die, he accidentally touched a hidden wooden box inside a drawer.

Inside was a palm-sized white jade carving in the shape of a snake.

It was cold, flawless, clearly no ordinary object.

When his blood stained it, the space activated.

About a thousand square meters in size, it contained a small stone house.

Inside the stone house were strange pills and a book titled “Longevity Technique.”

He had once thought it meant immortality—but in the end, he still aged like normal.

However, that book granted him wood-type abilities.

The pills had no labels, and he never dared to use them.

Next to the house was a spring—only the size of a bowl, yet miraculous.

It strengthened the body, regenerated flesh and bones, and could cure zombie infection.

It saved his life multiple times.

It also boosted ability cultivation speed dramatically, allowing him to become the strongest in China.

But now—

the space had shrunk to barely a hundred meters.

Surrounded by thick fog.

The spring, the house, his planted crops, fruit trees, and stored weapons and supplies—all were gone or reduced to a scattered fraction.

For someone used to being wealthy beyond measure, it looked painfully poor.

And worse—

he could no longer enter it.

His abilities had not disappeared.

Fire, ice, and wood remained.

But they had all been reduced back to level three.

After being accustomed to level fifty power, this was nothing more than scraps.

No wonder he thought his abilities were gone.

Forty-five years of hard-earned power—reset overnight.

Now he was basically powerless.

Even a mid-level zombie could crush him.

The collapse of his space removed his final safety net.

This unfamiliar world made him uneasy.

Powerless, he felt deeply constrained.

He sighed quietly and closed his eyes, beginning to circulate his remaining weak energy.

Better cultivate.

Otherwise, he might really get crushed to death one day.

“No more trouble. Stay at home. Don’t go anywhere. Ask Xiaozhu if you don’t understand anything.”

Lian Yucheng repaired the broken robot from yesterday and prepared to send it for maintenance. Before leaving, he stared at Lian Qiguang with deep worry.

Lian Qiguang stood expressionless beside Lian Xiaozhu, looking at the ceiling light, responding to every sentence with a dull “mm.”

After all instructions were finished, Lian Yucheng still felt uneasy.

He turned to Lian Xiaozhu.

“Watch him. If he tries anything, tell me.”

“Got it, brother!”

Lian Yucheng left.

Once he was gone, Lian Qiguang went upstairs without a word.

Lian Xiaozhu ran to the fridge, grabbed a small cake, and sat on the sofa watching his room intently, afraid he would escape.

Before she even finished her first bite—

the door upstairs opened again.

Lian Qiguang came out.

Black high-collar jacket, military-green inner shirt, loose hood partially covering his face.

Black fitted pants.

Hands in pockets.

Expressionless as ever.

The outfit came from the limited supplies in the house. He still wasn’t used to this world’s clothing—light, weightless, temperature-adjusting—so much so that it felt like he was half naked.

He walked straight to Lian Xiaozhu.

“Do you have money?”

“…I, I do.”

She pulled out a pink cat wallet.

“Borrow it. I’ll return it.”

He took it and walked toward the door.

“Wait! Wait a second!”

She rushed over and blocked him.

“What are you going to do?”

“Go out.”

“No! Big brother said you’re not allowed!”

“I’ll be back soon.”

He paused.

“I won’t randomly kick people anymore.”

“But—but—”

She panicked.

“Are you going to report me?”

He looked at her.

Lian Xiaozhu froze instantly, face turning pale.

“No… I’m not…”

“Then goodbye.”

He walked past her.

“Se—second brother!!”
