Chapter 5

This entry is part 6 of 21 in the series Major General! Your Wife Is Pregnant!

On the intricate and crowded streets, Lian Qiguang leaned against the roadside, hands casually stuffed into his jacket pockets, expressionlessly looking at Lian Xiaozhu standing timidly in front of him.

“B-big brother said you’re not allowed to go out,” Lian Xiaozhu said, head lowered, nervously twisting her clothes.

Lian Qiguang frowned slightly, looking displeased.

“Big brother said you hit your head and forgot a lot of things. I… I can help you,” she hurriedly added, afraid he might just throw her away.

Lian Qiguang glanced at the sky’s “spiderweb” of aerial roads, then at the shrinking girl in front of him. His expression softened a little.

“Follow me.”

He tossed out those two words stiffly and stepped forward.

Lian Xiaozhu froze for a moment, then broke into a big smile.

“Yes!”

Ten minutes later.

………………………………

Twenty minutes later.

………………………………

Half an hour later.

………………………………

“Se… second brother…”

Lian Xiaozhu, who had been running hard to keep up, was now slightly out of breath, sweat beading on her forehead, breathing uneven.

Lian Qiguang stopped and turned around expressionlessly, looking at the girl who had fallen far behind him.

His gaze landed on her pale face and rapid breathing.

“What is it?”

His voice was wooden, without the slightest emotion.

“I… I feel unwell,” she said, clutching her chest and bending over slightly in discomfort.

Only then did Lian Qiguang remember—this sister’s body wasn’t very good. She had a heart condition.

Sister collapses = Lian Yucheng gets angry = kicked out of house = homeless

After silently sorting through the logic chain in his mind, he felt a faint displeasure.

“Second brother?” Lian Xiaozhu steadied herself and walked closer, looking at his face carefully.

She felt like her brother was… in a bad mood.

Looking down at his sister who was two heads shorter than him, Lian Qiguang bent down and picked her up.

“Ah!” she exclaimed, quickly grabbing onto him, startled and flustered.

He ignored her panic and continued walking forward, carrying her as if she were nothing more than an object.

“Se… second brother, you…”

“Don’t return the money.”

“Second brother, where are you going?”

“Buy seeds.”

“Do you know the way?”

Silence.

“…No.”

“Then why aren’t you taking a car?”

Lian Qiguang stopped.

“…Also, second brother, you’ve already circled the same area three times.”

“…………”

Scene Divider

Inside the hover car, Lian Qiguang sat with his arms crossed, expressionlessly staring out the window.

Lian Xiaozhu curled up beside him, stealing nervous glances at his face, several times opening her mouth before swallowing her words again.

About twenty minutes later, the hover car stopped in a noisy square.

“Hello, the total is 300 star credits.”

The driver smiled politely.

Lian Qiguang remained unmoved, still looking out the window, expression blank.

Lian Xiaozhu’s face instantly turned red. She lowered her head and tugged at his sleeve.

“Second brother… pay him,” she whispered.

Lian Qiguang turned to look at her.

Then at the driver.

Still expressionless.

“Hello, the total is 300 star credits,” the driver repeated with a strained smile.

Silence.

Just as the driver’s smile was about to collapse—

Lian Qiguang finally spoke.

“Three hundred star credits… what is that?”

“……………………”

A few moments later, Lian Xiaozhu hurriedly dragged him out of the car, holding his wallet in one hand and his sleeve in the other.

“Sorry!” she bowed deeply to the driver.

“My brother was injured recently and hit his head, so he’s a bit confused. I’m really sorry!”

The driver gave Lian Qiguang a strange look, shook his head, and drove away.

Lian Qiguang still stared at the departing vehicle.

Then he heard it faintly.

“Such a young kid and already stupid… what a pity.”

His gaze shifted slightly.

“Second brother? Let’s go,” Lian Xiaozhu tugged him.

He looked down at her.

“What’s wrong?”

“Are you feeling unwell?”

After a long silence, he spoke seriously.

“I am not stupid.”

“…………”

“I am a genius.”

“Otherwise, how could I have become the strongest in Huaxia, the Young Prince’s teacher, and Wolong Base’s strategist?”

“I am a genius.”

“Pfft.”

A soft laugh came from behind.

Lian Qiguang turned around.

A delicate, strikingly handsome boy stood there, trying hard to hold back laughter. When he noticed the gaze, he quickly covered his mouth, his eyes curved like crescent moons.

Lian Qiguang ignored him.

Then turned back to Lian Xiaozhu.

“I am not stupid. I am a genius.”

“Okay okay, you’re a genius,” she said helplessly, smiling while secretly sighing.

He didn’t argue further, but inwardly made a decision.

He would prove it.

That he was a true genius.

Thus, An Guang—on his first day in this world—found his new goal: proving he was a genius.

“Hahahahaha—”

After Lian Qiguang left, the elegant boy finally burst out laughing.

“Hey Tian, what are you laughing at?” a deep voice came from behind.

A tall man in black stood there, looking at the boy.

“Brother! You’re here?” the boy wiped tears from laughter.

“Brother, you really missed something just now. That boy was hilarious.”

The man frowned slightly, his dark eyes cold.

The boy quickly stopped laughing.

“Alright, alright, I’ll stop. Let’s go pick a gift for grandpa.”

As he followed behind, his thoughts turned.

That boy… who was he?

If he saw him again, he definitely had to get to know him.
