Chapter 10

Xia Leyang had a somewhat nauseating dream.

To be precise, the dream wasn’t initially nauseating; at most, it was a bit surreal.

He dreamt of standing on a semi-circular stage with a standing microphone in front of him, and many guests sitting below.

It seemed to be an old-style cabaret, with dim lighting, an ambiguous atmosphere, and dazzling lights on the ceiling flickering with enchanting colors. Occasionally, the lights would shoot straight into his eyes, prompting him to subconsciously close his eyes to avoid the glaring light.

Someone was singing.

Upon closer listening, it was a beautiful Cantonese song.

Xia Leyang looked around in a daze, as if the one singing wasn’t someone else, but himself standing on the stage.

He lowered his head, and everything became blurry; he couldn’t see what clothes he was wearing.

After the song ended, the guests below began applauding. Xia Leyang vaguely saw a man with a tall figure standing in the corner. His gaze involuntarily followed the man’s figure, uncontrollably chasing after him.

The man’s face was blurred, impossible to see clearly, but for some reason, Xia Leyang felt a strong desire to get closer.

There was a tingling sensation in his heart, and even his fingertips trembled.

It was strange because Xia Leyang didn’t usually like men, yet at this moment, he could distinctly feel an intense longing for this man.

The man’s figure drew closer, dressed in a light gray short-sleeved shirt neatly tucked into a belt, straight-legged suit pants hanging down to the floor in an old-fashioned manner.

The man’s face remained unclear, and Xia Leyang wanted to reach out and touch the mosaic on the man’s face. However, his body didn’t respond to his control.

The itching sensation in his heart became more pronounced, as if he urgently needed something to relieve it, like a drug addict in need.

The surroundings suddenly froze, like a stage set in a drama, then collapsed with a bang. After the environment stabilized again, Xia Leyang found himself lying on the bed.

In front of him… no, more precisely, in his mouth, there was something.

The dreamlike feeling made Xia Leyang feel unreal. It took him a long time to realize that he was actually…

What the hell kind of dream is this?

Xia Leyang began to feel nauseous, but for some reason, he couldn’t stop the movements of his mouth.

He absentmindedly looked up and almost got scared to death on the spot.

He actually saw Shang Tingzhi.

It is said that dreams reflect one’s thoughts at night. Xia Leyang swore to the heavens with his hand on his heart that he absolutely had no improper thoughts about Shang Tingzhi, and this dream was just absurd.

Shang Tingzhi’s reaction was also strange; it was unclear whether he wanted to refuse or was enjoying it.

Xia Leyang kept reassuring himself that it was okay; it was just a dream.

Once he dreamt of vomiting feces, back when he was less resistant to superstitions. He found the dream strange and searched online for interpretations, only to come across a webpage boldly stating, “Vomiting feces is auspicious for B-Box.” Since then, he no longer believed in any feudal superstitions.

Vomiting feces is auspicious for B-Box? Isn’t that just talking nonsense?

This dream interpretation website can really come up with anything.

Yes, compared to vomiting feces, doing this for Shang Tingzhi seemed more acceptable.

Anyway, when he woke up, nothing had happened, and Shang Tingzhi wouldn’t know about this strange dream.

For the first time, Xia Leyang discovered that he still had some talent. At first, Shang Tingzhi would push him away, but not long after, he just kept him pressed down.

He was somewhat enjoying the show, imagining if Shang Tingzhi knew he had done such things in his dream, he would probably be scared away.

Thinking of this, Xia Leyang chuckled inwardly. Just at that moment…

Fuck.

Even in a dream, Xia Leyang felt nauseated to the extreme.

His dream self, for some reason, was immersed in it with great relish, as if possessed by a ghost.

Strangely, after that, the itching sensation in his heart gradually subsided.

Not long after, the bedroom scene turned into a stage set for a drama, and the lights gradually dimmed. Before closing his eyes, Xia Leyang saw Shang Tingzhi kneeling beside him, shaking him incessantly. However, his awareness became increasingly blurred, the world in his eyes narrowing, until finally, with his eyes closed, everything turned into darkness.

The next morning, when Xia Leyang woke up, he stared at the ceiling in a daze for quite a while.

He remembered taking a shower last night, and then, while showering… he started dreaming.

Recalling the dream from last night, Xia Leyang involuntarily retched.

After the nausea in his stomach subsided, Xia Leyang shuddered and got up from the bed. At this moment, the sun outside the window had risen to its zenith, indicating it was not early anymore, and Shang Tingzhi was not by his side.

Feeling listless, he went to the bathroom to freshen up. The scene from last night during the shower suddenly flashed in his mind. He shivered and looked back at the bathtub, but there was nothing there.

Too weird.

Xia Leyang accelerated the tooth-brushing process, quickly finished freshening up, and left the bathroom.

The bedroom door was conveniently open, and Shang Tingzhi, upon seeing Xia Leyang, was momentarily stunned. Awkwardly, he said, “Up already?”

“Yeah.” Xia Leyang scratched the back of his head awkwardly, thinking about last night’s dream.

“Come down for lunch. We still have work in the afternoon,” Shang Tingzhi said.

“Oh.” Xia Leyang responded.

Shang Tingzhi’s mood was quite complex. Actually, last night, he had intended to push Xia Leyang away, but the unprecedented pleasure made him lose his reason. In the end, he involuntarily…

Although he knew that last night’s Xia Leyang was abnormal and must have attracted something dirty, the fact remained that, whoever was in that body, he had done such things to Xia Leyang.

Headache.

Seeing Xia Leyang looking somewhat dejected, he probably took quite a blow.

After thinking for a while, he said, “If you don’t want to go in the afternoon, you can rest at home.”

“Huh?” Xia Leyang, for some reason, felt that today’s Shang Tingzhi was speaking particularly gently. “You want me to stay alone in this haunted house?”

“Or you can go find your friends to hang out,” Shang Tingzhi suggested.

“I don’t have any friends here,” Xia Leyang said with a puzzled look. “Playing games somewhere is also fine… But are you sure it’s okay for you if I’m not around?”

Shang Tingzhi almost forgot about this.

After venting last night, he woke up feeling refreshed, to the point that he even forgot about the taboo thing he did.

He pursed his lips, slightly apologetic, and said, “Then come with me.”

Xia Leyang had no objections, and he followed Shang Tingzhi to the dining table.

Shang Tingzhi was a man of few words, but today Xia Leyang always felt that Shang Tingzhi was unusually silent, even a bit… awkward?

He chewed without making a sound, even handling the dishes delicately, as if he were a traditional lady educated in manners.

Xia Leyang found it strange. Trying to find something to talk about, he said, “By the way, I had a really weird dream last night.”

“Cough, cough.” Shang Tingzhi, caught off guard, coughed a couple of times and quickly drank some water. After recovering, he asked, “Dream?”

“Yeah.” Xia Leyang pursed his lips. He didn’t intend to tell Shang Tingzhi the content of the dream, but he still wanted to express the uncomfortable feeling. “You absolutely can’t imagine what I dreamt about.”

Shang Tingzhi held his breath, slightly nervously asking, “What?”
“Don’t mention it.” Xia Leyang shook his head. “If I weren’t so hungry, I probably wouldn’t be able to eat this lunch.”

Shang Tingzhi didn’t know what to say. He was pretty sure Xia Leyang had no idea that last night wasn’t just a dream.

Now, he didn’t know what to do.

If he didn’t tell Xia Leyang, he felt guilty, as if he shamelessly took advantage of Xia Leyang. Well, he did take advantage of Xia Leyang, but he could convince himself that it was because he couldn’t resist.

Okay, he admitted he struggled only a little bit.

If he told Xia Leyang, he wasn’t sure how this young master would react. If he ran home and told his elders about it…

No, Xia Leyang would be more embarrassed than him. There was no way he would reveal this.

Shang Tingzhi was engaged in intense internal struggle, but Xia Leyang was oblivious to all this.

He lazily ate his food, and seeing Shang Tingzhi’s complicated expression, he casually asked, “What are you thinking about? You look so serious.”

Shang Tingzhi, forced to snap back to reality, held back the words on the tip of his tongue.

He had to admit; he rarely felt as helpless as he did now.

Xia Leyang slurped a noodle, his full lips stained with glistening oil, looking especially enticing.

Shang Tingzhi’s Adam’s apple involuntarily moved up and down, and his mind once again recalled the movement of lips from last night.

“Xia Leyang.” Shang Tingzhi forced himself not to dwell on it, concentrating on the conversation.

“Hmm?” Xia Leyang raised his head, looking at Shang Tingzhi with confusion due to his odd behavior.

“I think it’s necessary to tell you something.” Shang Tingzhi put down his chopsticks, speaking with a serious expression.

In the future, something like this might happen again, so it was necessary to remind Xia Leyang.

The atmosphere made Xia Leyang nervous too. He sat up straight and asked, “What’s the matter?”

Shang Tingzhi took a deep breath and said, “There are really ghosts in this old Western-style house.”

Xia Leyang’s mouth twitched a bit. He thought Shang Tingzhi was going to say something important, but it turned out he was just trying to scare him. He said with a sigh, “I know this house is spooky; you don’t need to deliberately remind me, right?”

“Don’t doubt it; there really are ghosts.” Shang Tingzhi repeated, “You still remember how you returned to your room last night?”

Xia Leyang slightly furrowed his brows; he indeed couldn’t recall.

Seeing this, Shang Tingzhi knew he couldn’t remember, hesitated for a moment, and said, “Last night, you were possessed by a ghost.”

Xia Leyang: “…”

“I mean, it was a Cantonese-speaking female ghost.” Shang Tingzhi interrupted.

Xia Leyang’s expression changed; he suddenly remembered the “Nice to meet you” he heard in his room before. He hadn’t mentioned this to Shang Tingzhi.

“That ghost,” Shang Tingzhi paused, “is a Yang-eating ghost.”

Xia Leyang tilted his head, “What does that mean?”

“It specifically feeds on human Yang energy.” Shang Tingzhi said tactfully, unsure if Xia Leyang would understand.

After thinking for a moment, Xia Leyang found it strange, “Are you saying this Yang-eating ghost possessed me?”

“Yes.” Shang Tingzhi nodded gravely.

“But wait.” Xia Leyang scratched his cheek, feeling puzzled, “Didn’t you say you have an excessive amount of Yang energy? She should target you instead.”

“Yes, she did target me.” Shang Tingzhi pursed his lips, “Through you.”

Xia Leyang first felt it was absurd, not understanding what Shang Tingzhi meant. However, in the next moment, he immediately figured it out, and his expression cracked on his face.

“This Yang-eating ghost,” Shang Tingzhi looked hesitant to speak, “is also known as a Chijiji ghost.” (Chijiji= Eat D!ck)
Xia Leyang suddenly felt it hard to breathe, his face turning pale. In a trembling voice, he asked, “Excuse me…?”
