Chapter 92

Su Bin urgently asked Allen for help to install Chinese input on his computer. “What’s wrong?” Allen noticed that Su Bin’s hands were trembling, and he knew there was a problem with the post. However, this didn’t stop him from saving the photos, as he had quite a few “innocent pictures” of Su Bin taken without his knowledge.

Su Bin was in a restless state, his complexion off, and his speech stuttering: “I don’t know the person who posted this, but they know a lot about me.”

“Who?” Allen inquired.

Su Bin replied, “I don’t know if it’s a guy or a girl. I’ll ask them now…”

“Calm down,” Allen advised. “Tell me what’s in the post. Did they reveal your private information?”

Su Bin informed Allen of the two suspicious points: “The ring incident is a secret. I’ve never told anyone in China about it. And there’s this photo of me cooking noodles at the club. I don’t know who took that.”

Allen raised an eyebrow. “Just these two things?”

Su Bin quickly went through the post again and realized that there was an obvious mistake. The author described Su Bin working to buy a ring for Chen Xiaotian, with the evidence being the noodle-cooking photo. However, by that time, Su Bin and Chen Xiaotian had already broken up. Moreover, upon closer inspection, Su Bin realized that out of the seven pictures in the post, only two were from abroad, and one of them was a photo he had openly shared on the university’s social network.

“Um… yeah, it seems to be just these two things.” Su Bin began to calm down a bit.

Allen listened as Su Bin briefly described the contents of the post and the two replies from the author. He said, “It’s possible that, as they claim, they’re just your fan.” — Even stalkers for you, little fool? ( ̄_ ̄) Not happy…

Allen continued calmly, “I’ve encountered many people like that—obsessive followers, taking pictures… Don’t pay attention to them for now. Every word you say to them might be twisted.”

Su Bin stared at Allen, feeling calmer due to his composed tone and relaxed expression.

Allen glanced at him. “Did you tell anyone else about the ring incident?”

Su Bin thought for a moment. Indeed, it wasn’t just his secret. Aside from his roommates, he had also told Sun Yujie, Casey, and Lily. They were all Chinese students, and if they were active on the university’s social network, it wouldn’t be that secretive.

Allen opened a new webpage and searched for “联队” (club). When the official club website popped up, Su Bin’s eyes widened: “My pictures!”

Allen tapped Su Bin’s forehead. “Those should be photos from club activities.” — That’s why I didn’t let you go.

Su Bin covered his forehead, looking frustrated. “Why would they casually put my pictures up like that?”

Allen explained, “In such events, there are bound to be reporters… If your pictures don’t end up in newspapers, that’s actually lucky. The B country government doesn’t intervene much in celebrity gossip. Third-rate celebrity magazines are filled with candid photos. Didn’t you know that Princess Diana died in a car accident while being chased by paparazzi?”

“… I won’t go there again.” However, Su Bin found it strange. He wasn’t a celebrity, so why would they take pictures of him?

Su Bin saw that Allen had opened MSN, and not knowing what he was about to do, he asked, “What should we do about that post?”

Allen didn’t answer him directly. Instead, he wrote something in MSN, then returned to the university’s social network, copied the profile URL of the author of that post, and pasted it into MSN. The person quickly responded with an “ok.”

“I’m helping you check on that person,” Allen explained.

MSN was still open on the side, and Su Bin continued to browse the university’s social network. He noticed that the “fan” had sent him several more messages:

“Everyone is criticizing Chen Xiaotian. Are you happy or not?”

— Happy my foot! Do I look like I’m enjoying this misery?! (╯‵□′)╯︵┻━┻

“Are you really going to drop out of school for Chen Xiaotian? Can you tell me where you plan to study?”

— Tell you so you can keep stalking me? You creep!

“Are you still there? Reply quickly!”

— Creep, creep!

Su Bin ignored the messages and cleared all his statuses and photo albums on the university’s social network—since he wanted to sever ties, he might as well go all out and delete his account! He didn’t want to be the center of gossip and attention anymore.

As he finished deleting everything, the stalker sent another message…

“Why did you delete all the photos? Hehe, luckily, I’ve saved them all.”

The stalker kept sending messages incessantly, and Su Bin regretted sending that “who are you” message in the first place!

After a few minutes, the messages finally stopped. Su Bin glanced and saw that the last message from the person was: “Are you hacking my computer?”

Su Bin: “…” Could it be that the person Allen contacted was a hacker?

He glanced at Allen, and Allen leaned over and gave him a kiss.

Soon, the MSN icon on the computer started blinking, and Allen opened it in front of Su Bin. “The information about the target has been collected and will be sent to your email in five minutes. The target’s computer files have been wiped clean and a surveillance virus has been implanted. The observation period is set for three months.”

Allen hugged Su Bin and kissed him again. “Hehe.”

Su Bin: “…” OAO Scary…

The peeping fan only received one message from Su Bin the whole time, and then their computer got hacked… Thinking about it this way, Su Bin suddenly felt a bit satisfied. In that person’s eyes, did he seem a bit awesome and fearsome? (⊙v⊙) Hehe!

Next, Allen opened his email, downloaded the compressed files sent by the hacker, which took a while due to slow internet speed.

Once the package was opened, it was filled with Su Bin’s photos from various sources. Most were collected from the university’s social network, some were ones Su Bin himself had posted, and there were also pictures taken by his friends and classmates with him circled. Su Bin didn’t even have such a comprehensive collection on his own computer!

As the mouse hovered over each photo, Allen suddenly clicked on one to enlarge it. Su Bin looked and was surprised to see a photo of himself setting up candles outside Chen Xiaotian’s dormitory!

He glanced at Allen, and as expected, Allen’s face darkened. Su Bin thought, he wouldn’t… “Ouch!” Su Bin’s neck was bitten!

… Accompanied by Allen’s cold hum, the candlelit photo was mercilessly deleted.

Su Bin covered his neck, feeling speechless.

Half an hour later, Allen received the detailed investigation results from the hacker.

“Do you know this person?” Allen asked.

Su Bin stared at the ordinary-looking girl on the screen and shook his head.

According to the email, the hacker was his junior in high school, one year below him, now at Provincial University studying finance… Su Bin was speechless. He had no idea he had such a “peeping junior” in his life!

If the person had been a creepy guy, Su Bin would have been thoroughly disgusted. However, upon finding out that it was a girl, Su Bin felt a bit sympathetic and decided not to pursue it further.

He typed a sentence in English in his profile’s signature section: “My dropping out of school has nothing to do with Chen Xiaotian…” but halfway through, he stopped and deleted the line, leaving only “Goodbye.” Then he closed the webpage.

He didn’t want that name to be associated with him anymore. Let others say whatever they want to say. After all, the junior’s post wasn’t entirely wrong. He had indeed been a real idiot.

Su Bin hugged Allen for a while in calmness before curiosity got the better of him. “How can hackers from country B still hack into Chinese computers?”

Allen replied, “That’s not a hacker from country B. It’s a hacking organization’s agent based in country B. They likely hired Chinese hackers to deal with this.”

Su Bin was taken aback. That meant as long as Allen wanted to, his every move online was probably under surveillance. For instance, the anonymous posts he made for help previously… Su Bin shivered at the thought. He suddenly realized that the scariest person wasn’t the peeper or the hacker; it was the person right in front of him! OAO

Su Bin buried his head into Allen’s chest and subconsciously… nuzzled.

In the evening, Su Bin received a message from Guo Li: “Bingzi, I saw what’s happening on the university’s social network. Are you really dropping out?”

Su Bin hesitated for a moment. If that day he hadn’t witnessed Chen Xiaotian and Huang Zhengming being intimate, he might have considered contacting Guo Li to understand the situation better. However, he had met Allen afterwards, and now he had no intention of digging into those meaningless past events.

Still, Su Bin didn’t hold a grudge against Guo Li, and besides, Guo Li had sent him a comforting message after their breakup. So, he chose to reply: “Yeah.”

Guo Li replied, “Damn, you can receive messages? Then why aren’t you replying to Chen Xiaotian’s texts?”

Su Bin: “…” What the hell? Why does it feel like I’m falling into a trap? QAQ

Guo Li sent another message: “Since you’re back in the country, why not meet up? Let’s talk face-to-face. Don’t be stubborn. Little Tian has been crying since she found out you’re dropping out. Dahuang isn’t doing well either.”

Su Bin’s heart clenched. Chen Xiaotian rarely cried in front of others. When they were together, he hadn’t seen her shed tears more than a few times.

But for some reason, at this moment, Su Bin didn’t feel sorry for her. Instead, he felt a bit… satisfied?

“My dropping out has nothing to do with her,” Su Bin replied.

Since he had been with Allen, Su Bin had never thought about seeking revenge against those two. He had only harbored a small hope that Chen Xiaotian and Huang Zhengming would feel guilty for hurting him rather than being happily in love. Hearing that they were struggling brought a small sense of satisfaction.

Yet, before he could relish that satisfaction for a minute, the next message from Guo Li completely baffled him: “If it has nothing to do with her, then what’s with the post on the university’s social network? And why did you clear out your profile? Isn’t that obviously shifting the blame to Chen Xiaotian?”

Su Bin was dumbfounded. What did Guo Li mean by that reproachful tone? He didn’t want the situation to escalate to the point of public knowledge either. The post was made by someone else, and he couldn’t control the power of rumors. He cleared his profile to avoid being gossiped about. What was wrong with that? Besides, even if he explained, it probably wouldn’t make a difference. People had already cast him as the miserable green hat-wearing character in their minds!

Allen had just come out of the bathroom and saw Su Bin sitting on the couch, looking pale with anger.

He furrowed his brows slightly, thinking, I only left for a few minutes. What foolishness has this guy gotten himself into now?
