Chapter 15

Xia Leyang does have a bit of obsession. After all, he has never been in a relationship and gave his first kiss to such a thing, inevitably causing some psychological shadow.

But, as he comforted Liu Defa before, he is relatively open-minded and not someone who holds on to things. So, several days after the incident, he gradually put it behind him.

Today, Shang Tingzhi had to attend a social event, the groundbreaking ceremony for the cemetery.

The owner of the cemetery is named Zhou Runhua. In recent years, the cemetery business has grown bigger. The original management was chaotic, and the land was not used reasonably, unable to accommodate new graves. After selling the previous land, he found another Feng Shui treasure land on the side of Mount Luoyi, intending to build a new cemetery here.

When Xia Leyang arrived at the construction site on the mountainside with Shang Tingzhi, he saw the beautiful Feng Shui master Zhao Ying, whom he had seen online before.

Zhao Ying was dressed in a yellow Hanfu, holding a paper umbrella in one hand and a delicate compass in the other. At first glance, she looked like a classical beauty stepping out of a painting.

Xia Leyang nudged Shang Tingzhi with his elbow and whispered, “Look at her; she’s obviously a professional.”

If someone else had said this or if Xia Leyang had just met Shang Tingzhi, he wouldn’t have bothered to respond. However, after becoming familiar with Xia Leyang, Shang Tingzhi’s patience had grown, and he whispered back, “I’m a professional too.”

“You?” Xia Leyang looked Shang Tingzhi up and down, high-end shirt paired with a million-dollar watch, and blurted out, “You look like a scammer.”

Shang Tingzhi: “…”

“Old Shang.”

A greeting came from behind the two, and when Xia Leyang turned to look, he found a person in a dark blue Taoist robe.

“You’re here too?” Shang Tingzhi raised his eyebrows in surprise. “It’s so lively today.”

“Indeed.” Li Shan nodded, pursing his lips. “That guy is here too.”

Xia Leyang didn’t know this Taoist. Following the Taoist’s gaze, he saw a round-faced person who looked like Maitreya.

Shang Tingzhi naturally saw him too. He nodded and exchanged greetings with the person. Then, he withdrew his gaze and said to Xia Leyang, “Let me introduce you. This is Li Shan, a professional demon hunter.”

If Xia Leyang hadn’t experienced the incident with the female ghost, he would have definitely categorized Li Shan as a fraud. But now, looking at this person with a topknot and a delicate appearance, there was a hint of curiosity in his eyes.

“Hello, Master.” Xia Leyang greeted.

“Don’t be so formal.” Li Shan walked to Xia Leyang’s side with his hands behind his back. “And who is this?”

“My assistant.” Shang Tingzhi didn’t say much.

“Assistant?” Li Shan looked at Tang Fengyi, who was standing silently on the side. “Not bad, bringing two assistants when going out, quite impressive.”

“It’s necessary for work.” Shang Tingzhi said.

“That’s true.” Li Shan nodded. “Your business is good.”

The two walked side by side towards the ceremony site. Li Shan looked around and asked, “Did you find this piece of land for Mr. Zhou?”

“No.” Shang Tingzhi said, “Zhao Ying found it.”

Li Shan still understood some Feng Shui. He rubbed his chin and said, “It’s quite good.”

“Indeed.” Shang Tingzhi agreed.

Li Shan smiled, “Aren’t you afraid that she’ll take all your business?”

Shang Tingzhi did not respond, calmly casting a glance at the round-faced person not far away. Li Shan immediately understood his meaning, and with a hint of excitement, he said, “It seems like Zhang Wenlun is more of a headache for you.”

Xia Leyang had been following behind Shang Tingzhi and Li Shan, hearing their conversation throughout. He looked at Tang Fengyi beside him and asked, “Who is Zhang Wenlun?”

Tang Fengyi said, “The head of the Star-Making School.”

Xia Leyang: “??”

Xia Leyang had an expression of “Are you kidding me,” and Tang Fengyi realized that he had no knowledge of Feng Shui. So, he explained, “Feng Shui has many schools. The Shang family follows the Nine Mansions School, and the person ahead, who looks round and chubby, belongs to the Star-Making School.”

Xia Leyang felt like he had entered a strange world. He skeptically asked, “What’s the difference?”

“The Nine Mansions School focuses only on Feng Shui, while the Star-Making School creates Feng Shui.” Tang Fengyi explained, “For example, if the internal elements of a piece of land clash and are unsuitable for habitation, the Star-Making School will change the Feng Shui of that land to increase its value.”

“There’s such a tricky operation?” Xia Leyang asked in amazement.

“Old Shang, your assistant is not very knowledgeable.” Li Shan heard the conversation behind him. “He doesn’t even understand this.”

Xia Leyang dryly defended himself, “…I’m still in my internship.”

“Well, let me teach you.” Li Shan came to Xia Leyang’s side, put his arm around his shoulder, and said, “This Feng Shui is divided into Yang House Feng Shui and Yin House Feng Shui. The one where living people reside is Yang House, and conversely, the one where deceased people reside is Yin House.”

Xia Leyang did know this; in ancient times, emperors and generals attached great importance to burial sites because they believed that the Feng Shui of Yin House was also crucial.

“As Feng Shui has developed, there are various sects and schools. Did you see that beauty in front?” Li Shan pointed with his chin to Zhao Ying standing next to Zhou Runhua. “She combines astrology with Feng Shui, creating her own school. Pretty impressive, right?”

Astrology is considered a science in foreign countries, but, in a sense, it is also a kind of feudal superstition.

Xia Leyang had only recently encountered supernatural events, and his acceptance of these things remained at the previous level. So, he didn’t find it particularly impressive.

Li Shan, still with his arm around Xia Leyang, quickly walked ahead. Shang Tingzhi frowned and stared at Li Shan’s arm, finding it unpleasant.

He endured for a while, barely holding back his annoyance. However, when he saw Xia Leyang and Li Shan chatting about Feng Shui, he couldn’t stand it anymore. He stepped forward, pulled Li Shan’s arm, and asked displeasedly, “When did you change professions?”

“Eh?” Li Shan was stunned for a moment, realizing he had stolen the spotlight. He smiled and said, “Forget it, you teach your assistant.”

Shang Tingzhi, with a stern face, said, “Of course.”

Xia Leyang hadn’t really intended to learn; he was just chatting. After Li Shan stopped talking to him, his attention was quickly drawn to the lion dance performance at the ceremony.

The groundbreaking ceremony was quite formal this time, with various performances arranged, including the participation of well-known Feng Shui masters to write inscriptions for the cemetery.

While Shang Tingzhi sat waiting below the stage, he casually observed the surroundings.

The land Zhao Ying had found for Zhou Runhua was indeed excellent. Several farming families had originally lived here, but now they had all received a considerable resettlement fee and moved to the city.

Standing here and looking down, you could see the distant mountain on the border of the neighboring city. Looking up, you could see the scattered peaks of Mount Luoyi, forming a harmonious landscape. Moreover, the underground water veins passed through this area, making it a truly rare treasure land.

However, Shang Tingzhi, as he looked, suddenly felt something strange.

The weather was good today. Standing on this mountainside, he could see another mountain on the border of the neighboring city. He left his seat, changed positions several times, and found that the dragon’s head between the two mountains happened to be near this construction site. The direction of the dragon’s head faced the Yunshui Lake, forming a typical dragon absorbing water terrain.

Such Feng Shui treasure land was indeed rare, and the people buried here would likely bring prosperity to their descendants.

But…

“What are you looking at?” Xia Leyang curiously came to Shang Tingzhi’s side, followed his gaze into the distance, but besides the vast mountains, he didn’t see anything.

“Nothing.” Shang Tingzhi withdrew his gaze. “I need to check some information. After the ceremony, you come with me to my house.”

Xia Leyang asked, “Your villa?”

“Yeah.” Shang Tingzhi said. Suddenly remembering something, he hesitated and said, “By the way, when my parents see you, they might say some strange things. Don’t mind them.”

“Weird things?” Xia Leyang recalled the last time he went to Shang Tingzhi’s house for dinner, Shang Jianye and Yang Wenting were very friendly elders. He asked, “What strange things can they say?”

Shang Tingzhi thought about saying, ‘Your grand display of sucking just got known by the elders,’ but then he realized that even if his parents knew about it, they should consider Xia Leyang’s face and wouldn’t bring it up.

“It’s nothing. There’s a generation gap between us and the elderly.” Shang Tingzhi tactfully prepared Xia Leyang, “If there’s anything you don’t understand, don’t worry; it’s not your fault.”

“Oh.” Xia Leyang scratched the back of his head inexplicably, thinking that the last time he chatted so pleasantly with Shang Tingzhi’s parents, what could he not understand?
