Chapter 14

Shang Tingzhi has a fever again.

If you were to ask about his current mood? Regret, a lot of regret.

Out of all people he could have provoked, he had to provoke the little ancestor surnamed Xia. The little ancestor refuses to let him hug, and up until now, he has been burning for two days and two nights.

Shang Tingzhi is the only child in the family. Although he hasn’t reached the point of having everything served on a silver platter, he has been pampered by his family. So now, facing Xia Leyang, who is giving him the silent treatment, he has no experience and absolutely no idea how to comfort someone.

They say impulsiveness is the devil, and Shang Tingzhi deeply understands this truth.

After turning twenty, he gradually learned to control his temper. However, those three words, “吸唧唧” (suck), seemed like a curse, effortlessly breaking his self-control.

Breaking his self-control would have been okay if he had stopped there. If he had stopped in time, Xia Leyang wouldn’t be so angry.

Recalling that night with Xia Leyang, Shang Tingzhi almost wanted to find a place to hide from the world.

He swears he absolutely did not treat Xia Leyang as a girl. But Xia Leyang, with his big watery eyes, glaring at him in anger while biting his lower lip, almost made Shang Tingzhi react involuntarily.

Because of this, he didn’t dare to hug Xia Leyang again that night, and unsurprisingly, he had a fever the next day.

“Sorry for last night,” Shang Tingzhi weakly said to Xia Leyang. “I didn’t pay attention to the force at the beginning.”

Although it was unpleasant at first, Shang Tingzhi was sure that Xia Leyang had enjoyed it. At the beginning, Xia Leyang struggled, but later, he just stared at Shang Tingzhi with his eyes, and his body became very obedient.

Thinking he had taken the initiative to give Xia Leyang an out, Shang Tingzhi expected that Xia Leyang would let it go. However, Xia Leyang, like settling old scores, glared at him and said, “You pinched me so hard, didn’t I ask you to stop?”

“Cough, cough.” Shang Tingzhi cleared his throat awkwardly, avoiding eye contact with Xia Leyang. “I didn’t mean to not stop.” What a joke.

“Do you think I’m stupid?” Xia Leyang said indignantly. “You clearly bullied me because your strength is greater than mine.”

Great, the young master is still angry.

So, the next night, Shang Tingzhi, watching Xia Leyang sleeping next to him, hesitated and didn’t dare to take action.

By the third day, Shang Tingzhi couldn’t hold back anymore. He had the urge countless times to press Xia Leyang, who was swaying in front of him, into his arms, but he couldn’t bring himself to do it.

After much hesitation, he decided to call Xia Tian Shui.

“It’s me.” Shang Tingzhi, feeling a headache, got straight to the point. “What does your brother like?”

“What does Yangyang like?” Xia Tian Shui thought she misheard and repeated it subconsciously. She thought Shang Tingzhi wouldn’t come to her for such a trivial matter. She walked out of the meeting room in a hurry upon seeing the call, only to find it was about a trivial matter.

“Yeah.” Shang Tingzhi didn’t want to waste words. “I upset him. How do I appease him?”

Xia Tian Shui held back a laugh and asked, “Is it because of… you know?”

Shang Tingzhi had a question mark above his head. “What do you mean?”

“Tsk, we all know.” Xia Tian Shui gossiped. “My dad is more conservative. When Dad told him, he almost had a heart attack.” Xia Tian Shui laughed, “But don’t worry, I’m a hundred percent supportive of you guys.”

Shang Tingzhi’s headache intensified.

He should have realized that after Tang Fengyi told his parents, they would definitely embellish the story and tell Xia Leyang’s parents.

Taking a deep breath, he concluded that it was more important to appease Xia Leyang now. Explanations could come later. He asked, “So, how should I appease him?”

“My brother, you see.” Xia Tian Shui thought for a moment. “He’s actually easy to soften. Just act pitifully.”

… Act pitiful?

Shang Tingzhi said he couldn’t do that.

“I once accidentally broke his favorite limited edition model, and he almost destroyed all my lipsticks.” Xia Tian Shui chatted away, “I said my best friend envied me, said my boyfriend was after my money, and he wasn’t angry anymore. He even comforted me in turn.”

Shang Tingzhi recalled that a few days ago, when Xia Leyang was angry with him, he was hit by the bookshelf. Xia Leyang forgot about being angry and even allowed him to hug him for a while.

So, he had to thank the bookshelf that hit him.

After hanging up the phone, Shang Tingzhi began to ponder how to act pitifully. However, after thinking for an entire afternoon, he came to a conclusion: this is harder than feng shui.

Shang Tingzhi has been the “child of others” since he was little. Excellent academic performance, and his talent in feng shui earned him respect from many elders from a young age.

Having sailed smoothly through life, he has almost never faced setbacks. But now, he is facing the greatest challenge of his life – how to make Xia’s little ancestor happy by acting pitiful.

As usual, Xia Leyang timely crawled into Shang Tingzhi’s bed, but he blatantly ignored Shang Tingzhi, engrossed in watching dramas on his iPad.

Lying on the bed, Shang Tingzhi struggled internally. He really didn’t want to be tormented by the fever. So, gritting his teeth, he turned over and faced Xia Leyang, saying, “Yangyang, I… seem to be really not okay.”

As soon as this line was uttered, Shang Tingzhi thought of the cliché scenes in wuxia dramas, where the male protagonist falls into the arms of the female protagonist for a final farewell, evoking tears.

“Oh.” Xia Leyang’s gaze remained on the iPad screen, showing no reaction.

Feeling extremely reluctant, Shang Tingzhi half-truthfully pretended to be weak, intermittently saying, “I almost… fell in the bathroom while taking a shower.”

Xia Leyang raised his eyebrows at the words, slightly tilting his head to glance at Shang Tingzhi. He saw that Shang Tingzhi’s lips were pale, his eyes lifeless, and indeed, he didn’t seem to be in good condition.

Pursing his lips, Xia Leyang asked, “You’re not feeling well?”

“Mmm.” Shang Tingzhi didn’t lie. Even a sturdy man can’t withstand the torment of illness. If it weren’t so uncomfortable, he wouldn’t lower himself to show weakness in front of Xia Leyang.

“Let me check.” Xia Leyang said, using the back of his hand to touch Shang Tingzhi’s forehead. It was indeed scorching hot.

Having seen news about people having their brains fried due to fever, Xia Leyang thought if this continues, Shang Tingzhi’s brain might be in danger.

“I still need to go out tomorrow. What if I’m in this state…” Shang Tingzhi said weakly.
Admittedly, Xia Leyang softened again. He awkwardly asked, “Are you going to check Feng Shui for someone tomorrow?”

“Not Feng Shui.” Shang Tingzhi said slowly, “Do you remember the piece of land bought near City No.1 High School? The cemetery there has been relocated to the mountainside of Luoyi Mountain. Tomorrow is the groundbreaking ceremony, and the owner of the cemetery invited me to attend.”

Even if Xia Leyang was still angry, he didn’t want to affect Shang Tingzhi’s work.

That night, Shang Tingzhi did pinch him painfully, but he had to admit that the subsequent force was quite comfortable. So comfortable that he couldn’t hold on for even five minutes.

He was angry. Angry that Shang Tingzhi forcibly did something against his will after releasing him.

But what made him even angrier was that after releasing him, Shang Tingzhi actually exclaimed, “So fast?”

That surprise wasn’t fake. It was like an excellent essay in the college entrance exam, revealing one hundred percent genuine feelings.

Xia Leyang, being a man, was thoroughly irritated by Shang Tingzhi’s reaction. Originally, he planned to ignore Shang Tingzhi forever. However, now, looking at Shang Tingzhi in such a weak state, he couldn’t bring himself to stay angry.

He moved slightly closer to Shang Tingzhi, still watching the iPad screen, and said, “I’ll sleep after finishing this episode.”

Shang Tingzhi didn’t know what Xia Leyang meant, lying there without moving.

“Aren’t you going to hug me?” Xia Leyang, seeing Shang Tingzhi not moving, put down the iPad and snuggled into Shang Tingzhi’s arms. “I’m not trying to control you; I’m afraid my dad will scold me.”

Xia Leyang was actively making amends now. Shang Tingzhi gently curled his lips and tightly wrapped his arms around Xia Leyang’s waist. Before long, the dizziness and headache sensation eased considerably.

“Thank you.” Shang Tingzhi rested his forehead against Xia Leyang’s, saying softly.

“Don’t hug me so tightly.” Xia Leyang, for some reason, felt his cheeks getting warm. He blamed it on Shang Tingzhi, saying, “You’re going to scald me.”

Shang Tingzhi closed his eyes, saying lightly, “It’ll be fine in a while.”

Shang Tingzhi enjoyed a rare good night’s sleep. When he woke up the next morning, the usually bed-loving little ancestor was still sound asleep.

Usually, Shang Tingzhi would get up directly, but today, he broke the routine and lay on the bed for a while.

Xia Leyang obediently snuggled in his embrace. His dense eyelashes were like a fan, occasionally trembling as his eyes moved in his dream.

With a straight and pointed nose and full pink lips slightly open, revealing half of his big white teeth, he looked like a little rabbit.

Really adorable.

With one hand supporting his head, Shang Tingzhi lazily lay on his side and watched for a while. Many scenes involuntarily flashed through his mind.

Xia Leyang possessed by a female ghost, Xia Leyang enjoying himself in his hands…

Wait a minute.

The yellow radar suddenly emitted a piercing alarm. Shang Tingzhi abruptly came to his senses. What was he thinking about all this nonsense?

It seems that being single for too long can really lead people to become obsessed.

Shang Tingzhi quickly sat up. He was about to lift the quilt and get out of bed when, at this moment, Xia Leyang beside him mumbled a few words in a daze.

People are strange. When they hear others talk in their sleep, they are always curious about what they are saying.

Shang Tingzhi buried his head, leaned close to Xia Leyang, and asked in a low voice, “What did you say?”

“…Yi…” Xia Leyang’s lips moved, and after a while, he only uttered one word.

“Yi what?” Shang Tingzhi buried his head even lower, and his ears were almost next to Xia Leyang’s mouth.

“…Xi…” This time Xia Leyang’s words were finally clear. “…吸唧唧 (suck).”

Shang Tingzhi sat up straight with a dark face, thinking about how deep this guy’s obsession was.

Just now, he actually thought Xia Leyang was very obedient, he simply wasn’t cute at all.

Shang Tingzhi tossed aside Xia Leyang, who was muttering in his sleep, and got out of bed. He would never go near that thing, not in this lifetime.
