Chapter 28

Hmm… how embarrassing.

For almost a month, I’ve been doing the same exercise almost every night, but I still ended up being toyed with by the big tiger.

Lin Lu lay on the bed, still immersed in the aftermath of the climax.

“Babe?” Xue Wensong kissed away the tears on Lin Lu’s face. “Are you okay?”

“I’m fine…” Lin Lu snapped out of it, picked up his phone from the bedside table, and then grinned mischievously at Xue Wensong, “Let me tell you a secret.”

“Hmm?”

“Now that it’s past midnight, today…” Lin Lu intentionally paused, teasing Xue Wensong, “is my birthday!”

“What?” Xue Wensong narrowed his eyes slightly. “Why didn’t you tell me earlier?”

“I didn’t want you to bother,” Lin Lu chuckled and snuggled into Xue Wensong’s embrace. “Having you by my side is all I need.”

“That’s not enough,” Xue Wensong furrowed his brow. “We can’t let your birthday pass like this.”

“It’s okay, tomorrow is the weekend, we can go out on a date.”

Xue Wensong fell silent for a moment, then barely perceptibly curved his lips. “Alright.”

The next morning, just past six o’clock, Xue Wensong woke up the drowsy Lin Lu.

Lin Lu slipped on a light-colored sweater, donned a short down jacket, and sleepily asked, “Where are we going so early?”

“On a date,” Xue Wensong pecked Lin Lu’s lips. “Just come with me.”

An hour later, Lin Lu stood bewildered in the airport lobby, watching Xue Wensong checking in at the counter, still not realizing the connection between this and their date.

“Don’t just stand there like a fool, come with me to the boarding gate,” Xue Wensong came back with two passports and boarding passes, holding Lin Lu’s hand and heading towards the international departure gate.

“Wait, where are we going?” Lin Lu asked blankly.

“See for yourself,” Xue Wensong handed the boarding pass to Lin Lu.

The next moment, Lin Lu’s eyes widened. “N-New… New Singapore?!”

“Aren’t we bringing any luggage?”

“Wait, why is my passport with you?”

“Don’t we need a visa to go to Singapore?”

“Isn’t Singapore your home? Shouldn’t I bring a gift?”

“How long does it take to get from here to Singapore?”

Xue Wensong was getting a headache from all the questions. He put his arm around Lin Lu’s shoulder and leaned down, saying, “If you ask any more questions, I’ll shut your mouth in front of customs.”

Lin Lu fell silent, feeling shy.

At two in the afternoon, the Singapore Airlines plane landed on time at Changi Airport. The southern sun was as fiery as the locals’ hospitality. Lin Lu couldn’t resist taking off his down jacket as soon as he stepped off the plane. Initially worried about his poor English and afraid of making a fool of himself, Lin Lu was relieved to find that there were many Chinese people in Singapore, and almost everyone could speak Mandarin. So, there were no problems at immigration.

After coming out of the international arrival hall at Terminal 3, Lin Lu saw Huang Shan, Xue Wensong’s assistant, followed by a group of men in black behind him.

Lin Lu quietly tugged at the hem of Xue Wensong’s clothes and whispered, “They look like the people welcoming a big shot getting out of prison in a movie.”

Xue Wensong burst into laughter. He handed their coats to the assistant and then led Lin Lu out. A Lincoln limo was parked outside the airport. Lin Lu finally felt a sense of marrying into a wealthy family.

However, what happened next left Lin Lu’s mouth agape with astonishment.

Xue Wensong didn’t take him home but instead brought him onto a private plane. On the plane, a private stewardess handed Lin Lu a set of white formal wear. As Lin Lu changed his clothes, he nervously asked Xue Wensong, who was also changing, “Where are we going?”

This date seemed to be going a bit too far.

However, the plane didn’t fly for long, and soon it landed on a small island. Before Lin Lu could ask where they were, Xue Wensong voluntarily explained, “This is the family’s private island.”

Lin Lu: “…”

So, why dress up in formal attire to come to this island?

But before long, Lin Lu’s questions were answered—

Xue Wensong brought him here to hold a wedding ceremony.

Yes, on the beautifully decorated beach, there were already many guests waiting for them.

Lin Lu stared blankly, seeing Huang Shan, Xue Wensong’s company employees, and even Zhang Zihang and Tang Yi.

Amidst the stares of the crowd, Lin Lu took Xue Wensong’s arm in a daze and whispered, “Was this all arranged by you overnight?”

“Silly,” Xue Wensong chuckled softly. “How could I not know your birthday?”

Lin Lu thought he could surprise Xue Wensong by suddenly mentioning his birthday, but it turned out that Xue Wensong had already prepared a surprise for him.

And this surprise was too big.

Lin Lu bit his lip, unable to stop the corners of his mouth from lifting. He took Xue Wensong’s arm and stepped onto the center stage to the rhythm of the wedding march.

The wedding ceremony was not complicated. Following the traditional routine, after Lin Lu and Xue Wensong answered “I do” amidst the cheers of the guests, two cute little boys walked up with two rings.

“Did you keep the ring I gave you before?” Xue Wensong asked as he took the ring from his side.

“It’s been in my wallet all along,” Lin Lu replied as he took the ring belonging to Xue Wensong.

“This time, I’ll give you a formal one,” Xue Wensong smiled.

“Okay,” Lin Lu smiled back.

Lin Lu picked up the ring and examined it. It was a simple and elegant men’s ring, with a few diamonds embellishing the front and the initials “X·L” engraved on the back.

As he put the ring on Xue Wensong’s finger, Lin Lu asked, “Is this an extra-large size? Is mine a large size?”

Xue Wensong sighed helplessly, chuckling, “It’s the abbreviation of Xue and Lin.”

Lin Lu blushed. “Ah…”

The emcee beside them almost couldn’t stop laughing. He nudged the elegant old lady beside him with his shoulder. “Mom, I told you your granddaughter-in-law is very cute, didn’t I?”

The old lady was also laughing uncontrollably. “I’ll have a good look when we get home.”

On stage, Lin Lu blushed deeply under everyone’s gaze. After all, no one wants to be embarrassed at their own wedding.

Xue Wensong timely hugged his waist, helping him out, “Shall we move on to the next part?”

The emcee coughed a few times, and the outdoor venue finally quieted down. He loudly announced, “You may now kiss.”

Xue Wensong lowered his head satisfactorily, leaning close to Lin Lu’s ear and murmuring affectionately, “Baby, I love you.”

Lin Lu hugged Xue Wensong’s waist in return. He had wanted to find a hole to hide in just now, but now his heart was filled with happiness. He replied, “I love you too.”

Under the gentle sea breeze, the two men embraced each other amidst the blessings of the crowd.
