Chapter 157
The argument ended like this, and Huo Youcheng felt that this test didn’t yield the best result. But to conclude from it that “Ye Zhi no longer had feelings for him” was not something he could do decisively. So, he decided to “act” for a while.
His way of “acting” was refusing to cooperate with his rehabilitation and treatment, wearing a sullen expression every day, and walking vigorously when he got angry, as if he wanted to break his own legs.
With his tantrums, Ye Zhi couldn’t persuade him, even Madam Huo’s tears were ineffective. It was only Huo Youqiao’s intervention that stopped him from harming himself in this way.
Huo Youqiao’s intervention required him to go on a trip, which took a while. Ye Zhi hadn’t seen him in nearly ten days. When he saw him at the hospital, his heart pounded, and in the face of Huo Youcheng’s indifferent demeanor, his heart, in front of his lover, came alive again.
The process of concealing his feelings was exhausting, but fortunately, no one’s attention was focused on him.
So, from a distance, he stared at the other person somewhat greedily, and tried to use his nose to catch a whiff of the pheromones emanating from him.
Huo Youqiao’s attitude was stern and serious. “The treatment has reached this stage, and you will fully recover in a short time. If you want to spend your life in a wheelchair, that’s okay. The Huo family is rich and influential, and we can afford to support a disabled person. But can you bear it?”
“You’re an adult now, why do you use your body as a bargaining chip? Do you want to make Mother cry until she’s blind?”
“When will you mature a bit? Winning someone over depends on your sincerity, not using your own pain to coerce others!”
Huo Youcheng was domineering in front of everyone except for two exceptions: his father and his elder brother. He quickly lowered his head and murmured like a quail, “Brother, I was wrong…”
Madam Huo quickly intervened. “It’s good that Ah Cheng knows he’s wrong. Ah Qiao, don’t scold him anymore. His wife is still here, and if you scold him like this, what face will he have?”
Huo Youqiao then glanced at Ye Zhi, rightfully so.
This glance was deep, as if it could suck his entire being into his eyes. After a pause of nearly three seconds, Huo Youqiao forced himself to look away and said, “Stop acting like this. I have to go back to see Ranran. Ranran insists on seeing her aunt. Ye Zhi, will you come with me?”
Ye Zhi’s heart skipped a beat, and his heart raced. Madam Huo said, “Xiao Ye, go with him. You’ve been through a lot during this time with Ah Cheng’s antics. It’s time to rest.”
Huo Youcheng remained silent and didn’t object.
Suppressing the excitement in his heart, Ye Zhi calmly replied, “Sure.”
Huo Youqiao had just returned from a business trip from another planet, still wearing his three-piece suit and glasses, giving him a sense of detachment.
Ye Zhi followed him out and got into his car. Huo Youqiao told the driver, “Back to the Huo residence,” and pressed the partition button urgently, not even waiting for the car to start. Ye Zhi was originally sitting in his seat, but in a moment, he was easily pulled onto the man’s lap, his face immediately flushed.
“Help me take off my glasses,” the man ordered him gently. “Otherwise, it’s inconvenient to kiss you.”
Ye Zhi’s face turned even redder, his breath catching, as he carefully removed the glasses from his nose and pocketed them. As soon as he finished this action, Huo Youqiao kissed him.
This kiss was filled with urgency. They hadn’t seen each other for nearly ten days, and to avoid revealing their secret relationship, they had barely communicated with each other. The longing for each other had reached its peak, and they couldn’t help but let it out now that they were finally together.
Ye Zhi also opened his lips and let his tongue mingle with Huo Youqiao’s, allowing their tongues to intertwine, while pressing tightly against his chest.
He missed him so much.
Living before was numb, except in front of this person, where joy existed. And these days, Huo Youcheng’s antics had exhausted him mentally and emotionally. Every minute and every second spent with someone he didn’t love felt agonizing. Sometimes, he really wished he could just say everything.
But he couldn’t. He had to wait a little longer.
Huo Youqiao kissed him passionately, using almost enough force to embed him into his chest, kissing his lips, his tongue, his eyes, and his nose before finally sighing contentedly and saying softly, “You’ve been through a lot during this time.”
“It’s okay…” Ye Zhi relied on him, whispering softly, “It’s my responsibility anyway…”
