Chapter 30
“Can’t.” Huo Youcheng’s face turned cold. “If my brother sees you, do you want me to get scolded?”
Ye Zhi awkwardly replied, “Brother should have already gone to sleep…”
“That’s still not allowed. What if?” Huo Youcheng threw a sentence and went into the bathroom, leaving Ye Zhi too afraid to leave.
He slowly got off the bed, feeling indescribable pain every time he moved, and the hot liquid was about to flow out at any moment. Ye Zhi bit his lip. After finally standing by the bed, his legs went weak and he almost fell to the ground.
After steadying himself again, he first used tissue to wipe himself, then began to change the sheets and duvet cover.
Huo Youcheng liked cleanliness, and if he didn’t change them, he would get angry.
Ye Zhi was good at housework, and he could change the sheets and duvet cover by himself, but doing so with such a painful body made it very slow. By the time Huo Youcheng finished showering and came out, Ye Zhi had just finished changing the sheets, but the duvet cover was not fully on.
Sensing his husband staring at him, Ye Zhi quickly said, “Just wait five more minutes.”
He spoke softly, with a hint of timidity in his tone.
Despite being subjected to such violent treatment, he still didn’t show any resentment towards Huo Youcheng. Instead of evoking any sympathy from the man, it only made him furrow his brow and add more displeasure to his face.
So when he finished putting on the duvet cover, Huo Youcheng coldly said, “Get out.”
Ye Zhi was stunned, turned to look at him, met his disgusted gaze, and didn’t ask why. He just nodded obediently. “Okay, good night.”
He seemed lifeless, devoid of any vitality, and even carried a sense of death.
Huo Youcheng became even more annoyed, his tone more irritable. “Get lost!”
Ye Zhi shrank back, quickly walked towards the door. But his groin was still injured, making his walk awkward, limping along. When he reached the door, he suddenly remembered something and mustered up great courage to turn back and say, “About your rumors…”
Huo Youcheng raised an eyebrow at him. “What? You still want to meddle in my affairs?”
“No…” Ye Zhi didn’t dare look at his face, softly explaining, “I didn’t mean to interfere with you. It’s just that my mom might be a bit worried… She mentioned wanting to leak to the media about your marriage… I, I think we should discuss it…”
There was panic and calmness on his face, but no hint of petulance.
In fact, knowing each other for so long, this person had never thrown a tantrum. He was like a soft dough, allowing anyone to knead him without objection, so weak that it made people impatient and irritable.
Huo Youcheng sneered. “So you’re kindly reminding me?”
Ye Zhi whispered, “I don’t want to cause you trouble.”
“Do you dare to say such things? What’s most troublesome for me is your whole family, isn’t it?” Huo Youcheng walked over to Ye Zhi, his face full of disgust. “A despicable, shameless, vain, and hypocritical family!”
He cursed through gritted teeth, showing how much damage the Ye family’s actions had caused him.
Ye Zhi couldn’t refute, only retreating in fear. He closed his eyes, unable to bear it any longer, and whispered, “I’m sorry, Youcheng. If you want, we can divorce…”
“Divorce?” Huo Youcheng seemed to hear something funny, laughing sarcastically. “You want a divorce? Don’t you want to cling to me as your rich husband, as your mom wishes? Have you forgotten that without me, the Ye family would be living on the streets? ”
He mocked, “Oh, you can continue to work and maintain your original life, but what about your vain mother and useless father? Are you sure they can live that kind of life? By then, they’ll be like leeches, sucking your blood until you’re bone dry! Are you sure you can handle it?”
