Chapter 96
“Evidence?” Huo Youcheng looked at Zhou Shaohui with a lazy gaze. “Father-in-law, without evidence, your baseless accusations can be grounds for defamation.”
Ye Mu suddenly spoke up, “You were the one who released that video!”
His face was pale, and his eyes were red. Even though he had lost his former charm, he still looked pitiable. But this impression was quickly shattered by the hatred in his eyes, contorting his features with bitterness.
Ye Zhi, already confused by the situation, felt even more puzzled.
This time, Huo Youcheng admitted it without hesitation, “Yes, I released it. So what?”
Ye Mu glared at him, “How could you do such a thing!”
Huo Youcheng laughed, his smile dripping with sarcasm. “I’m your brother’s husband, and you came to seduce me with an aphrodisiac. What was your plan? Reenact the forced marriage scenario? Sleep with me and then force me to abandon your brother?”
His words laid bare the Ye family’s intentions, sending a chill through Ye Zhi’s heart.
It became clear to him in that moment. They intended to use Ye Mu to climb back up, disregarding Ye Zhi entirely.
Huo Youcheng smirked, “But sorry, no matter how many people I’ve slept with, I only have one spouse. And frankly, I’m not interested in trash like you. Considering our past, I was quite generous. Those two old men that night, did they satisfy you?”
Ye Mu turned as white as a sheet and abruptly started to vomit.
He really vomited, the mere memory of being violated by those two homeless men that night making his stomach churn.
Huo Youcheng, however, seemed to find this amusing, deliberately adding, “Vomiting like that, could you be pregnant? How troublesome would that be, not knowing who the father is. But if you want an abortion, I can recommend a hospital that offers discounts.”
Ye Mu was driven to madness, incredulous, “Huo Youcheng! Don’t you have any feelings for our past?”
Huo Youcheng stared at him, enunciating clearly, “Why should I cherish a pile of dog shit?”
Being called trash and then dog shit, Ye Mu was nearly faint with rage. Ye Wan and Zhou Shaohui were also furious, but they couldn’t gain any advantage against Huo Youcheng, whose retorts doubled the impact of their insults.
Their inferior status rendered them powerless, highlighting their miserable existence.
Huo Youcheng, smiling pleasantly, turned to Ye Zhi with a much gentler tone, “Had enough? Let’s go home. This place is filthy.”
Ye Zhi couldn’t stay any longer. This visit only served to further expose the true nature of his family and his place within it.
Acknowledging softly, he followed Huo Youcheng out. He was a step behind, which allowed him to notice when Ye Mu grabbed a fruit knife from the coffee table and lunged at Huo Youcheng’s back.
Instinctively, he moved to shield Huo Youcheng, and the cold blade plunged into his body.
“Die!” Ye Mu’s eyes were bloodshot, his voice hoarse and desperate, stabbing with the intent to kill Huo Youcheng.
But with Ye Zhi in the way, the knife went into Ye Zhi’s back instead. The shocked screams from Ye Wan and Zhou Shaohui filled the room as blood sprayed from the wound, nearly causing Ye Wan to faint. Ye Mu, realizing his mistake, staggered back in horror, pale as a ghost.
Huo Youcheng felt Ye Zhi collapse against him, turning to see what had happened. Seeing Ye Zhi’s strained expression, his heart pounded with fear. He immediately supported Ye Zhi, his panic evident. “Are you okay?”
