Chapter 68

Su Bin hung up the phone, feeling a bit uneasy. He had a sense that Allen wasn’t pleased with his sudden change of plans…

“Bin, hurry up! The event is about to start!” Tyler urged him.

“I’m coming!” Su Bin quickly pushed aside the image of an annoyed Allen from his mind and joined Tyler in the club’s activities – regardless of how things had changed, it was a done deal. He could deal with it after the event ended!

The manager was right; the prizes were indeed abundant. Even though Su Bin wasn’t a soccer fan, he knew that things like “signed soccer balls” and “signed jerseys” were extremely valuable. Apart from those, there were smartphones, tablets, and other high-end electronic products that looked appealing, but what really caught Su Bin’s attention was the cash!

Su Bin and Tyler sat in a designated area with members of the college team. Initially, they played some guessing games, but unfortunately, the questions were all related to soccer, and Su Bin couldn’t answer any of them…

The beautiful host asked a question about when the team had won some award, and Tyler quickly grabbed Su Bin’s hand and raised it, then whispered an answer in his ear.

Everyone looked at Su Bin with smiles on their faces. Su Bin blushed and confessed that Tyler had told him the answer by cheating, and everyone cheered. The host tossed a small gift his way.

Sitting back down, Su Bin felt embarrassed. When Tyler told him the answer earlier, his mouth was right next to Su Bin’s ear.

In the past, Su Bin wouldn’t have cared about this detail. He would’ve thought it was just an accidental touch at most. But since Allen had kissed him, Su Bin had become particularly sensitive to physical contact between the same gender. Even a slight touch made him nervous…

At this moment, Tyler was also secretly observing Su Bin. When he saw Su Bin’s ear turning slightly red after their close contact, his heart raced nervously. What should he do? He found Su Bin so adorable…

During the quiz competition, Su Bin sneaked a couple of glances at his phone. Since his phone was running low on battery, he was actually looking forward to Allen sending him a text. That way, he could reply and let Allen know about his phone’s battery situation. However, his phone remained silent… and Su Bin started to feel a bit disappointed.

Later, there was a two-person leg-tied race, and Tyler really wanted to participate with Su Bin.

“Two people’s left feet tied to another two people’s right feet?” Su Bin looked at himself and Tyler, saying, “We have quite a height difference. It would be more suitable for you to find Antonio.”

Tyler: “Alright…”

After the competition, Antonio and Tyler won an oversized down pillow. Tyler grabbed it from the captain and eagerly handed it to Su Bin, saying, “For you.”

Su Bin awkwardly tried to refuse, “Huh? Why give it to me?”

Tyler stubbornly replied, “I said I’m giving it to you!”

Su Bin: “…”

Antonio, who had been robbed of the pillow, chimed in with a pout, “Aw, aw, aw~”

After a while, Su Bin felt that it was about time to take out his phone and check again. Suddenly, Tyler pulled him up forcefully, saying, “Come on, something fun is starting!”

When their feet were placed on sponge mats, Su Bin was still confused – what were they going to play?

“Sponge soccer match!” Tyler explained to him. The rules were simple: a sponge soccer ball, two teams of two players each, and the team that scored a goal in the goalpost within five minutes would win. The prize was £100!

Upon hearing that there was money involved, Su Bin’s interest was immediately piqued. However, when he saw his opponents, he was taken aback… Tyler and his opponent were paired against Paul and Chris!

If Antonio and Tyler were on the field right now, Su Bin felt they might have a chance to win. However, now that Tyler, this clueless guy, had dragged him onto the field, he didn’t stand much chance! Two world-class soccer stars were smiling at them, but Paul consoled Su Bin, “Don’t worry, Noodle Prince, I’ll go easy on you!”

Noodle… Noodle Prince orz…

The onlookers burst into laughter, and everyone started cheering Su Bin on, using the nickname Paul gave him!

Alright, Su Bin clenched his fists secretly. For the sake of this “Prince of Noodles” title, he was going to give it his all. Paul and Chris probably wouldn’t take it seriously, right?

Su Bin was clearly mistaken. He didn’t know that Paul’s words were just a common form of “trash talk” among athletes. If the opponent rose to the challenge, they would become angry because of Paul’s words – “You’re going to go easy on me? Do you look down on me?” – and thus take the game seriously!

However, Su Bin was too naive. He thought Paul was really going to take it easy on him.

As soon as the beautiful host blew the whistle, Paul’s smile vanished instantly…

OAO Damn! They’re playing for real?!

Su Bin shakily approached to intercept the sponge soccer ball with his trembling piloerector muscles, but compared to the professional players, his movements were so comical, resembling a stiff robot…

Paul quickly snatched the ball, and Tyler was chasing behind him. Su Bin extended his arms (???) in front of Paul to block, but when Paul charged forward like a wolf with the ball, Su Bin, for some reason, spun around and… started running! Yes, in the same direction as Paul, even ahead of him. Consequently, Chris, who was originally behind Su Bin guarding against his moves, was caught off guard and was bumped into with full force!

“Hahaha…” The entire audience burst into laughter. My goodness, the sight of Paul’s determined attack scared the Noodle Prince into running away in the opposite direction… hahaha!

Chris was tackled by Su Bin, and out of concern, he held Su Bin as they both rolled over the sponge mat.

“Wow~!” This shameless B-country crowd actually started teasing. They swore this was the funniest sponge soccer match they had ever seen!

Not far away, Paul knelt on the ground while hugging the ball and laughed so hard that he pounded the sponge mat with his fist.

Tyler was filled with regret – if he had been in Chris’s position just now, it would have been him who fell with Bin!

Chris smiled as he helped Su Bin up and asked, “Are you okay?”

Su Bin: “…”

At that moment, the peripheral audience turned their attention to the entrance of the activity room. It seemed like someone had arrived…

At the entrance stood a person dressed in black. This person had handsome features, looked young, and yet exuded an aura that couldn’t be ignored by adults… His demeanor was so solemn that it even cooled down the lively atmosphere in the room.

Upon receiving the report from the staff, the club manager promptly approached him with a respectful bow.

He greeted the young man with a polite bow, saying, “Duke Lance, good evening.”

Allen touched his forehead with his hand, “Good evening.”

The manager felt awkward and even started sweating on his forehead. He had heard of this mysterious Duke before, but he had never seen him in person. He had just received the report and found it hard to believe – why did this person suddenly come here?

Allen looked at him and said each word slowly, “I’m here to pick up someone – a young Chinese man who was working as a part-time chef here today.”

The manager immediately realized who Allen was referring to. There was only one young Chinese man present – he quickly called Su Bin over, “Bin, is this person your friend?”

Su Bin exclaimed, “Allen!”

Tyler and others also followed, “Bin, who is this person?”

“My roommate.” Su Bin answered softly. He didn’t dare say more because he could feel the strong hostility emanating from Allen…

Allen looked at Su Bin and lightly tapped his own right wrist with his left hand, conveying an unmistakable message.

Su Bin quickly fumbled for his phone, only to realize it was out of battery!

“I’m sorry…” Su Bin quickly apologized to Allen and then told the manager that he should be leaving.

The manager didn’t dare to keep him. Even Tyler, who was generally easygoing, felt a bit uncomfortable. He sensed that Su Bin’s roommate was quite formidable, but he still couldn’t resist asking Su Bin, “Are you leaving? But you haven’t drawn the lottery yet…” Before he could finish his sentence, he was met with a cold, stern glare from Allen, and he immediately fell silent… how terrifying!

“Allen, give me another five minutes. I need to pack up my things! Oh no, just one minute!” Su Bin hurriedly gathered the prizes he had won during the games and brought them over. The club manager also took the opportunity to slip him an extra prize for the lottery. He handed Su Bin a big gift bag and informed him that his part-time wages and bonus for the day would be deposited into his bank account the next day.

Su Bin thanked him repeatedly and bid farewell to Tyler and the others under immense pressure. He dragged his feet and didn’t know how much time had passed…

Allen endured his anger until they left that place.

As they sat back in the car, Su Bin felt extremely guilty and kept apologizing to Allen:

“My phone ran out of battery, I’m sorry. I wanted to send you a message, but I didn’t know your phone number…”

“I completely lost track of time while playing the games, I’m sorry…”

“What time is it now?… Oh, I’m sorry…”

“I didn’t expect you to come…”

Allen sat with his arms crossed, not saying a word.

Su Bin was at a loss and stayed silent for a while. Then he suddenly grabbed the large pillow Tyler had given him and carefully handed it over, saying, “For you.”

Allen: “…”

Seeing that Allen wasn’t accepting the pillow, Su Bin hurriedly tried to stuff it into his arms while explaining, “This is a prize I won from the games we played earlier. I wanted to give it to you (…).”

Allen gave him a sidelong glance, “Specially for me?”

Su Bin’s gaze flickered, “Uh… Yeah…” Although he was making it up, Allen seemed to be slightly moved by his words…

After looking at him for a couple of seconds, Allen reached out and took the pillow without saying anything.

Then, Su Bin handed over the big gift bag the manager had given him along with the keychains, ballpoint pens, and Starbucks coffee vouchers he had won from the various games. He stuffed everything into Allen’s hands in one go, saying, “It’s all for you…” (⊙_⊙)

Allen snorted coldly, thinking, as expected, it’s Bin – he collects all sorts of random things…

Su Bin felt like Allen’s expression had softened a bit…

Seeing that Su Bin still had two more packages in his hands, Allen asked with a hint of sarcasm, “What else?”

Su Bin replied, “Some leftover large bones that the club gave me. I can use them to make soup at home… Oh, and a signed jersey of Big Bei. I’m planning to give it to a friend in China who’s a fan of Big Bei.” Su Bin felt that Allen’s expression, which had just improved a bit, seemed to have worsened again… orz…

Back at home, Su Bin was shocked when he checked the time – it was almost midnight! When Allen came to the club to find him earlier, it must have been around eleven o’clock… Oh no, Robert must have been impatient and urged Allen to leave!

Feeling even more guilty, Su Bin was contemplating what to do when he heard Allen’s cold voice instructing him, “Go take a shower.”

Su Bin responded with an “Okay” and thought that after the shower, he could finally go to bed. Great, Allen didn’t seem like he was going to bring up the matter again…

Just as he let out a sigh of relief, Allen added another sentence, “Come to my room after you’re done showering.”

Su Bin: “…”
