Chapter 35

Despite a minor hiccup, the entire game ended successfully.

Amidst the cheers of “Study God Lin is awesome” from the crowd, the school leaders stepped forward to award the first and second place teams. In addition to the team awards, there was another important prize: the MVP of the finals. From the cheers echoing throughout the arena, it was evident who had won this award.

Standing on the award podium, as Lin Xiaoran received the trophy from the hands of the school leaders, he remembered three years ago when he had also won the MVP of a basketball game.

Three years later, after undergoing differentiation into an Omega, he never thought he would have the opportunity to return to the court, win the championship, and claim the MVP title.

As he lifted his head while holding the trophy, his gaze fell precisely on Gu Yang.

Gu Yang was also looking at him.

Their eyes met, and Gu Yang raised an eyebrow, smiling beautifully.

Lin Xiaoran suddenly remembered the day Gu Yang insisted on participating in the basketball game together, even if it meant enduring the aftermath of another marking.

But now, Lin Xiaoran had to give the MVP acceptance speech. Holding the microphone, he looked away from Gu Yang, glanced at the crowded stands, and spoke in his usual clear and melodious voice, “Half of this MVP belongs to Gu Yang.”

The audience erupted in excitement once again.

Some even thought Lin Xiaoran was confessing to Gu Yang, while others thought they were just showing affection. Teenagers of sixteen or seventeen years old always enjoyed such excitement.

Fortunately, the teachers and school leaders of Seven High were open-minded and wouldn’t take things too seriously at times like this.

However, Gu Yang, suddenly named, was stunned for a moment. Then he chuckled, shaking his head. He thought Lin Xiaoran was truly straightforward; he would say whatever was on his mind. Now they had one more piece of evidence for their relationship, didn’t they?

But…

He raised a hand to touch his nose and grinned even wider.

Undeniably, Lin Xiaoran, standing on the award podium with the trophy, looked handsome!

Lin Xiaoran, who was quite handsome, hadn’t even finished his acceptance speech yet. Standing tall on the award podium, his clear eyes surveyed the surroundings. When the cheers from the audience gradually subsided, he calmly spoke again, “Also, I am indeed an Omega, and I think it’s pretty good.”

After saying that, he handed the microphone to the emcee next to him and walked down from the award podium without looking back.

The large basketball court fell silent for a few seconds. Then, as if suddenly realizing something, thunderous applause erupted, and countless people in the stands shouted, “Xueshen is so handsome!”

However, Lin Xiaoran had already left the venue without looking back.

But the topic of this game was far from over; it had just begun. The school forum immediately became lively, with people discussing the game, Lin Xiaoran’s gender, and even whether Xueshen and Gu Yang’s relationship was an AA pair or an AO pair, debating if it was a perfect match.

Of course, all this had little effect on Lin Xiaoran, who hardly visited the forum. After changing his clothes, he prepared to join his classmates in the classroom because winning the championship made everyone happy, and they were planning to celebrate together tonight.

However, Lin Xiaoran received a call from Zhao Tianhua, his homeroom teacher, asking him to come to the office.

When he arrived, he found not only Zhao Tianhua but also Principal Gao Weixuan.

Seeing him, Zhao Tianhua hadn’t spoken yet, but Principal Gao couldn’t sit still, rubbing his shiny bald head with a sheepish smile. “Uh, calling you here, there’s something I think I should tell you. About the incident where you being an Omega was screenshot and posted online, it seems someone did it deliberately. My account was logged in by someone last night, and this happened today. The tech team just investigated the user who posted it. However, it’s an anonymous forum, so it’s difficult to determine who did it. We’ve reported it to the police, and they will investigate. But you should also be a little more careful. If it’s just a prank, it’s fine, but we’re concerned if it’s related to any grudge against you. Think about it and be extra cautious lately.”

Feeling guilty for his own negligence, Principal Gao felt quite remorseful. Moreover, since it involved Seven High’s treasure, if Lin Xiaoran’s performance was affected before the college entrance examination and Seven High couldn’t produce a top scorer, it would be a big loss for the school.

So this matter was not only important to him but also to the Seven High management.

Lin Xiaoran was a bit puzzled but didn’t think much about it. He couldn’t remember having any grudges with anyone. After leaving the office, he forgot about the matter and headed downstairs. He was planning to join Gu Yang and the others, but at the entrance on the first floor, he bumped into Jiang Chen.

Jiang Chen leaned against the door and immediately approached him when he saw him. “Senior, do you have a moment?”

Lin Xiaoran stopped and looked at him, waiting for him to continue.

Jiang Chen scratched his head awkwardly and laughed dryly. “Actually, I wanted to apologize to you. Before the game, we shouldn’t have forfeited. It seemed like we were looking down on Omegas. Actually, it’s not true. I was just… I was just…”

Jiang Chen didn’t know what was wrong with him. Usually eloquent, he suddenly became tongue-tied in front of Lin Xiaoran’s gaze. He struggled for a while but couldn’t articulate his thoughts. Feeling a bit disappointed, he sighed, “Anyway, I absolutely didn’t mean to look down on you, Senior.”

Lin Xiaoran: “…”

So, he came all the way here just to say this?

Blinking with confusion in his clear eyes, Lin Xiaoran nodded, indicating that he understood, then walked past him and out of the building.

“Senior.” Jiang Chen hurriedly turned back to stop him.

Lin Xiaoran turned around.

“Um…” Jiang Chen looked at him, feeling a bit embarrassed. “Are you really… together with Gu Yang?”

“None of your business!”

Lin Xiaoran: “…”
!
Turning around, Lin Xiaoran saw Gu Yang standing behind him, his peach blossom eyes showing a hint of amusement as he looked at Jiang Chen, inexplicably exuding a sense of rivalry.

But this sense of rivalry quickly dissipated. Gu Yang’s gaze shifted away from Jiang Chen and landed on Lin Xiaoran’s face, smiling. “Let’s go, I’ve been waiting for you for half the day.” With that, he took Lin Xiaoran’s hand and turned to leave.

Watching the two of them leave, Jiang Chen suddenly snapped out of his daze. The hostility emanating from Gu Yang just now was too obvious, something only fellow Alphas could sense.

And he, unexpectedly, was intimidated by it.

This dealt a blow to his Alpha pride.

Moreover, seeing Gu Yang pull Lin Xiaoran away again made him feel even more sour.

Lin Xiaoran naturally had no idea what Jiang Chen was thinking. He found Gu Yang’s behavior a bit strange and couldn’t help but turn his head to look at Gu Yang. “Do you have a grudge against him?”

“Why would I? We just met today,” Gu Yang said.

Lin Xiaoran looked at him but didn’t say anything. He felt that Gu Yang seemed to dislike Jiang Chen, but perhaps he was just being oversensitive.

Gu Yang didn’t say anything either, feeling a bit guilty.

For some reason, he really did dislike Jiang Chen.

He and Jiang Chen didn’t have any grievances. As he said himself, they just met today. What kind of grudge could there be?

But he found him annoying.

After a moment of silence, he suddenly remembered something else and asked Lin Xiaoran, “Did Lao Zhao summon you because of the leak of your file? Did they find out who did it?”

To be able to screenshot from the school system, it must have involved someone logging into the system with a teacher’s account. Gu Yang had thought of this early on, but he couldn’t figure out why someone would do this and what their purpose was.

Lin Xiaoran shook his head. “The police have been notified.”

“This matter should indeed be investigated thoroughly.”

As the two of them chatted, they arrived at the school gate, where Yu Fei and the others were waiting.

The group of people, excited about winning the championship, couldn’t wait to go out and celebrate. Finally, when the two protagonists arrived, they headed straight for the hotel.

There weren’t many activities high school students could do, so after having dinner, they went to a KTV to sing.

Those who enjoyed singing held the microphone and sang loudly, while the group of over eighteen-year-olds gathered to drink and play dice. There were also many who contributed to the atmosphere, holding props and cheering. Of course, there were also those who minded their own business and quietly sat down to eat, like Lin Xiaoran.

Perhaps due to his temperament, even though Lin Xiaoran came here with them, no one dared to approach him actively.

On the other hand, Gu Yang was always easy to get along with. Although everyone used to be wary of his reputation outside, after interacting with him a few times, they found that Gu Yang’s personality was actually quite good, and it was easy to get along with him.

At the moment, no one dared to disturb Lin Xiaoran, but a group of people cheered for Gu Yang to sing.

Gu Yang was forced to walk over and choose a song. Immediately, someone handed him the microphone, and he took it and sat down next to Lin Xiaoran. The music started playing.

“Met you by surprise I didn\’t realize

That my life would ge forever

Saw you standing there

I didn\’t know I cared,There was something special in the air ……”

Amidst the noise in the private room, it gradually quieted down, as everyone seemed to be drawn to Gu Yang’s singing.

His voice, gentle and melodious, seemed to carry a hint of deep affection, especially suited for singing love songs.

Lin Xiaoran felt a bit tired and leaned lazily. From his angle, he could only see Gu Yang’s profile. In the dim light of the room, he could only make out the three-dimensional contours, but Gu Yang’s eyes seemed particularly bright, as if he was singing earnestly.

It sounded pretty good, and he looked handsome too, but unfortunately, the song was a bit short, he thought.

Gu Yang, on the other hand, was relieved that he had finally finished singing. He wasn’t someone who got stage fright, but he felt a bit nervous with everyone staring at him while he sang.

Finally done singing, everyone immediately applauded, almost praising his singing to the skies. He didn’t mind, but as the crowd was bustling, he leaned over to Lin Xiaoran’s ear, intending to speak, but was stunned.

Lin Xiaoran looked at him in confusion, his clear eyes shining black and bright in this environment, blinking rapidly as he asked, “What’s wrong with you?”

Gu Yang: “…”

Damn!

It wasn’t his imagination; Lin Xiaoran really smelled of alcohol, and even his speech carried a faint scent of it.

“Have you been drinking?” Gu Yang was somewhat surprised, quickly taking the bottle from his hand to inspect it, finding it indeed contained low-alcohol cocktails.

“Hmm?” Probably due to the alcohol, Lin Xiaoran’s reaction was noticeably slower, blinking at him, his voice emanating from his nose with a touch of moisture, sounding soft.
