Chapter 6

The group of people had come for revenge, and Lin Xiaoran’s appearance happened to fit their intentions. Each of them waved their sticks, cursing and charging towards the two.

Eight opponents suddenly became four, making it much easier for Gu Yang. He even had the leisure to glance at Lin Xiaoran.

The opponent was similar to the one from that night – fast, fierce, and precise in their movements. Clearly skilled in fighting.

The speed, strength, and the aura resembling a unsheathed sword – it didn’t seem possible for them to be an Omega, let alone one in heat.

Gu Yang thought he might be overthinking. Perhaps there was an issue with his nose, and he should get it checked at the hospital.

Thinking so, he finally decided to focus on the present opponents. However, Lin Xiaoran’s movements suddenly froze, and he seemed to sway.

Seizing the opportunity, Guan Jun immediately swung his baseball bat towards Lin Xiaoran’s face. Gu Yang couldn’t intercept Guan Jun in time, so he grabbed Lin Xiaoran’s wrist nearby, pulled him behind, and avoided the swing. Gu Yang then kicked Guan Jun, causing him to fall to the ground.

Turning to look at Lin Xiaoran, Gu Yang was about to speak when a strong scent of sugar snow pear disrupted his thoughts.

His gaze involuntarily fell on Lin Xiaoran’s face, discovering an abnormal flush on his fair skin, with tiny beads of sweat on his forehead and nose.

One thing he couldn’t ignore was the wrist he held, trembling slightly, indicating that Lin Xiaoran was not feeling well.

Gu Yang’s mind suddenly seemed insufficient, whether shocked by the fact that Lin Xiaoran might be an Omega or influenced by Lin Xiaoran’s pheromones.

He stared at Lin Xiaoran, momentarily unresponsive.

At this moment, Lin Xiaoran was tormented by the restlessness in his body, especially sandwiched between these pubescent Alphas. The suppression of pheromones almost made him lose his balance.

During that moment, his legs were completely powerless, almost kneeling. Fortunately, Gu Yang pulled him, and a faint scent of pine surrounded his wrist, blocking the uncomfortable pheromones, bringing some relief.

However, what’s wrong with Gu Yang? He helped, so why stare at him like that? He even looked foolish.

Lin Xiaoran was eager to end this difficult battle, had no patience to deal with Gu Yang, and impatiently shook him off, coldly saying, “What’s wrong? Focus on the fight!”

Guan Jun, who was kicked again, had no time to pay attention to Gu Yang’s distraction. He roared, calling the remaining injured to charge again.

Gu Yang was ready to confront them when suddenly a figure swiftly passed by him, leaving a faint scent of pine. Gu Yang rushed to Lin Xiaoran, facing Guan Jun and the others directly.

The next second, his pupils slightly dilated.

He had heard that Gu Yang was formidable in fights, and he witnessed it earlier, but apparently, he hadn’t exerted his full strength. Now, he seemed like a different person – every punch and kick filled with power and suppression, making it impossible for the opponents to resist.

When Guan Jun fell to the ground again, Lin Xiaoran knew he was no longer needed. He mounted his bicycle, pedaled forcefully, and quickly left.

After throwing off the last person, Gu Yang turned around only to see Lin Xiaoran’s retreating figure. Without thinking, he called out, “Hey, are you just going to leave like this?”

But the only response he got was the somewhat slender figure moving away.

Gu Yang frowned; the air was still filled with a strong scent of sugar snow pear, even more concentrated than when Lin Xiaoran appeared.

This wasn’t surprising. Sandwiched between so many Alpha pheromones, even Omegas not in heat would likely be induced. Lin Xiaoran probably entered heat before coming here, making him more susceptible to Alpha influence.

At this moment, he was practically a walking aphrodisiac. Encounter Alphas with low self-control, and the consequences were evident.

So when Gu Yang saw Lin Xiaoran walking away alone, he instinctively wanted to stop him.

However, Lin Xiaoran didn’t seem appreciative, and considering his habit of concealing his gender, Gu Yang figured he might not want to be discovered. Moreover, Lin Xiaoran didn’t appear to be someone lacking in discretion, likely finding a secluded place to use suppressants.

Even so, Gu Yang was somewhat worried. Regardless of his opinion of Lin Xiaoran, he didn’t want to see any unexpected incidents. So, he decided to send a message to Chen Hongqiang: “Send me Lin Xiaoran’s number.”

Chen Hongqiang immediately replied: “Why do you need his number? I really don’t have it. I can ask someone else for you.”

Ignoring Chen Hongqiang’s question, he left the injured people lying on the ground, slung his backpack, and hurried in the direction Lin Xiaoran had left.

As he approached the alley, another message from Chen Hongqiang came, providing a series of numbers. Curiosity got the better of him, and Chen Hongqiang asked again: “Yang Ge, what’s going on?”

Ignoring the question once more, he directly dialed Lin Xiaoran’s number, but there was no answer for a long time.

He stared at the number on his phone, feeling somewhat helpless. Suddenly, as he turned the corner, he again smelled the strong scent of pear-flavored iced syrup.

He raised his head, following the direction of the pheromones, only to see Lin Xiaoran’s confident bicycle leaning by the side of the road, but Lin Xiaoran was nowhere to be seen.

Gu Yang’s heart sank, and he immediately ran towards the area with the most concentrated pheromones.

It was a small park at a street corner. Normally, people would come for a walk after dinner, but in the middle of summer, no one would leave their air-conditioned rooms to come here. The park was quiet.

Lin Xiaoran’s pheromones were coming from a small grove in the center of the park. Gu Yang sprinted over, not witnessing anything alarming, just Lin Xiaoran sitting alone.

He leaned against a tree, sitting on the ground with one leg bent, his arm gently resting on his knee, head lowered, bangs covering his brows and eyes, revealing only half of his pale face with tightly pressed thin red lips.

The evening sun slanted through the sparse branches, casting a soft glow on him, as if enveloping him in a gentle light.

If the group of nerds from school, who worshipped Lin Xiaoran, saw this scene, they would undoubtedly scream in amazement, proclaiming Lin Xiaoran as the legendary handsome boy.

However, Gu Yang’s vision was excellent. He clearly saw Lin Xiaoran’s whole body trembling slightly, hands tightly clenched, and his fingernails probably digging into his palms.

“…,” he opened his mouth to speak, but at that moment, Lin Xiaoran suddenly lifted his head, locking eyes with him.

Gu Yang was stunned.

Is this Lin Xiaoran?

The Lin Xiaoran at this moment is completely different from the one he knew three years ago, or even just a minute ago.

The cold sharpness in his usually indifferent eyes is completely gone, replaced by a mist, and even mixed with… desire, making him lose his usual cold and sharp edge, revealing a hint of… pitiful vulnerability.

But in the next second, that hint of vulnerability disappears completely, and those eyes become cold and sharp again, his tone even colder: “Get lost!”

This clear voice successfully brings Gu Yang back from his shock a moment ago. He didn’t approach, of course, and certainly didn’t obey the command to leave. He just watched Lin Xiaoran from a distance, his tone a bit unfriendly: “Are you crazy? Being in heat alone here, aren’t you afraid of being taken advantage of?”

He was genuinely a bit angry. Although he didn’t like Lin Xiaoran, he never doubted Lin Xiaoran’s intelligence. Yet, this guy was silly enough to be in heat alone in the park.

Luckily, the weather is hot, and there aren’t many people around. Otherwise, who knows what might happen?

Lin Xiaoran was stunned, his bright black eyes staring at him intently.

Gu Yang didn’t think he said anything wrong, and he stared back at him: “Did I say something wrong? As an Omega, at the very least, you should learn to protect yourself first. Look around, the whole park is now filled with your pheromones. If someone comes…”

“Can you smell it?” Lin Xiaoran suddenly interrupted him.

“Huh?” Gu Yang was puzzled.

“I said, can you smell my pheromones?” Lin Xiaoran looked at him and asked again.
